@@ArsonHQ I think you completely overthought my "two word sentence". I said - 8 months ago - that his life was "amazingly awful", since the work enviroment in facebook (meta) is toxic and fake. Imagine working on a job where you can be yourself, you need to have a fake persona to comply with all the pro-minority events, all performance "posts" and bullshit that comes with it. You can't focus on the job (even if its motivating and interesting) just because of HR / Management wants to pass the view of a "big company that works like a family".

The Political atmosphere definitely looks like a huge turn off. Any company who's culture basically requires you to have a specific political tilt to fit in; or from what I can tell at FB, - even be able to be yourself at all without the fear of termination; is about a half step away from being a cult.

I took one cyber security prep course and because of that, it made me kind of randomly subscribe to this guy. Genuinely glad I did because he is very successful, intelligent, and funny. I do not like Facebook, deactivated it years ago, and wish I never had it at all.

Wouldn't it be great if developers could just focus on software development and not have to worry about office politics? Unfortunately it seems there is almost always an element of office politics that needs to be managed.
We can always remote work / freelance, that is one of the main things I love as a Software engineer.
@@SolidousMdz I worked as a developer for corporates in London for many years and dealing with the office politics was at times definitely something that needed to be managed and tolerated. I totally agree with you, we are lucky to have the option to work remotely as developers. That is definitely my preference.
In CA, you don't deal with office politics, the office politics/political correctness/social justice warriors deal with you (src: exp from living, studying, and working in the Bay area for 6 years).
