Hasan Minhaj Answers Increasingly Personal Questions | Slow Zoom | Vanity Fair - Zábava
Can we take a moment to appreciate that Vanity Fair asked a male celebrity "how do you balance career and family"
I was looking for this comment! Honestly though, it made me so happy!
Claire Chen why that’s a normal question
The Random Chicken It’s more commonly asked to women than men. Nice to see Vanity Fair acknowledging that men are just as responsible for balancing career and family as women are.
Is that rare or something? Didnt eeven think twice when it was asked
@@toshvtosh5469 didn't think much of it. Kind of am a pretty family oriented guy myself. Family>career
"MY NAME DOES MATTER. WHO I AM, DOES MATTER. "
YES. This so much.
that touched me
💓
the name shouldn't matter, who are you should.
@@Throwaway-xr6zd you missed the point. They both matter. It matters that everyone pronounces your name correctly.
That's right
This is the first I have seen a man being asked, "how do you manage career and family? "
The fact that we have the same name...lol
I'm glad to see men being asked this question
damnmnn you right
@@puff6211 the fact that I went to school with one two decades ago and can't decide if one of you is that one.
Yeah right!!
It took me 19 years to understand the importance of someone pronouncing my name correctly. And I appreciate you telling the world
I have zero understanding for people who do not make a serious effort to pronounce other people's name correctly and to spell it correctly. Many names are written with special letters (e.g. ğ, Ş), and people just replace them by standard letters (e.g. g S) as if that did not make a difference. A name is a very significant part of a person, and pronouncing and writing things properly is one of the minimum signs of showing respect.
Sometimes, when I see a name tag on an office desk, and the special signs are missing, I remove the tag and print it again. People always appreciate that.
My first name is spelt unusually and even my school spelt it wrong multiple times a year, for all 6 years i went there. Even pronounced wrong. And I dont have special letters. Feels bad sometimes.
@@lappelduvide4054 thats strange man. 3AM seems like really simple name to deal with. Surprise to hear none of your school could not pronounce "3AM".
I like this a lot. I too, don’t get my name pronounced correctly and especially if someone writes down Erin I usually don’t correct them, but I like my spelling so I should be more stern about it
@@lappelduvide4054 You should not feel bad about it. The people who misspell your name should feel bad. A name and its proper spelling is part of your person and deserves to be respected. Correct those people. Remain strong.
This guy is so witty and charming, but at the same time humble and genuine. How is Hasan not the biggest thing out there right now?
He is easily in the top 3 American comedians... in My opinion
I swear!
Isn't the reason obvious???
CZcams Deep
because he's muslim, that's why, and it's twice as hard to get up there , hence not being jewish
“We is more important than me” that is such an eastern thing. I relate.
puddlemini I find in North America no one ever has each others backs. That really contributes to my sometimes “me first” mentality
Idt so
Phillip Alex Hey man I would love to hear what you have to say, but when you talk like a first grader I can’t :)
The West is an individualistic society while the East are a collectivistic society
Namaste.
I love that the hands don't stop even when he's sitting.
That chair actually looks like a very effective device for this concept. Along with the increasingly personal questions and the steady movement of the emotionless object moving towards you, the subject gets more and more uncomfortable. And that’s only amplified by the chair that doesn’t let your hands sit comfortably. As well as keeps their head in shot. A practical and psychological catalyst
An Indian has to move something be it Hands or head or both.

I apologize for my naivety but what does this slang means? English is not my first language and I am trying to learn. Thankyou.
@@shailjamehra A lot of people have this obsession with not bending their sneakers coz that will cause them to crease; the shoes are expensive nobody wants that. So 'crease you jordans' is metaphorically just saying, live life/live on the edge/ don't limit yourself

I knew he had to be in debate, those hand gestures are too familiar. i do them.

What’s his FW tho? And could he cut cards?
I find it that most comedians (successful one’s) seem to be rather intelligent in there way of thinking.
I believe you have to be at least a certain level of smart to logically make fun of something serious such as politics etc
comedy is extremely difficult. i was in theatre for a decade+ and one of the many things i've learnt is that the most intelligent and quickest of minds can take control of comedy the whole way. once you can do comedy (and comedic ACTING specifically), you can do dramatic acting. in hasan's position, his comedic grasp translates well into dramatic issues e.g. politics
I‘m sorry but I have to do this..... *their
@Alice Rodríguez well I'll speak for all younger than 25 year old India grown Indians, most of us like him, and I love himmm
@Alice Rodríguez That's so not true. We love Hasan, it's our PM who doesn't like being made fun of, just like every other politician. Like the way he wasn't allowed at the Howdy Modi event. Trust me, the people of India love him. 🇮🇳
This would've been better if you didn't keep cutting to the guys getting closer but instead just stayed on the slow close up.
Yes! Everytime they cut to the camera man, it took me out of what he was saying
Yes!
They could have cut to that view at the end as a comedic effect
Really don't know why they edited it like this. The whole effect of the long dolly is defeated if you constantly cut away. The equipment all over the room is already distracting enough lol.
Agreed.
That’s what I kept thinking
Every time he speaks about his daughter my heart melts

Shama AlAli my fav is mozlum, I grew up in the Bronx and heard it a lot. Lol
I don't understand why Americans say that? The rest of us in the western world say Moooslim. What is the deal with MUZlim?
ginnylin That’s how it’s said in the media and by literally everyone I know. I was only four months old when 9/11 happened so I grew up in a time where Muslims were misrepresented on a very larger scale.
@@ajones2367 sorry I hope I didn't offend. I was purely commenting on the pronunciation?

"Having to constantly prove your loyalty to the state."
I feel this all the time as an Indian Muslim American. In either country, it feels like I have to constantly prove my loyalty or be labeled a traitor. Irony is I'm an atheist, but it doesn't matter.
Zero. 0 I can understand. How frustrating. I wish with time and successive generations, fascism disappears.
You having to prove your loyalty usually means choosing a side, maybe because you show some weakness in your faith. And how are you atheist and indian muslim? It doesn't matter what you call yourself if you live to please others then you are nothing. Its 2019 I suggest you learn more about Islam.

I love that this guy is so relatable to such a wide variety of people. That’s why I like this dude. I feel like he totally taps into the Generation Z tiny gap because that’s what he is. There is a small group of Gen z’s born between 80-85. We grew up analogue and came into the digital world. We can identify with Gen x’s as well as millennials. We like technology, but are totally ok without it too. We were raised in a drastically different political and social climate and watched the transition to where it is today.
Hasan understands what this is, taps into it, and see’s the humor in all sides.
