Oregon isn’t gonna see a Michael penix, Caleb Williams, Cameron ward, Noah fifita, or even a DJ man. I think pass defense is going to thriveee
the pass defense is also affected by the other teams receivers.
I wonder how many B1G teams have a single WR as good as what Washington rode to the playoffs last year. Buckeyes, sure. Anybody else?
Finally someone says this! PAC QB play was a whole other level. Traditionally that’s been the case.
@@dragonsurge1Oregon won’t face a wr core even close as good as Washington’s last year
@@gavinboggs5787OSU has at least 3 future first round receivers on the field lol.. want me to name them?
One of the things that's not really talked about is Oregon getting Sappington. HUGE get and a difference maker for the Ducks as they face stiffer defenses in the redzone. Sco Ducks! Can't wait.
One of the better portal pick ups the Ducks had in my opinion
As a Beavers, this pains me
Echoing what another guy said, Oregon was a top 3 OL last season and pretty much everyone returned so I don't see how they're at #9 now. That doesn't make sense
Oregon's defense will be much improved because of the transfer portal. The other main factor is that historically the best offenses in the country were in the PAC-12. I think that having to face weaker offenses in the B1G will improve the perception of Oregon's defense. The other thing that hurts Oregon is playing teams that have to throw the ball 40 times per game trying to play keep up. If you go back over the last 2 decades and see Oregon defense in the first 3 quarters vs when they start putting in 2nd and 3rd string defense, you will see a different story. Not saying they were always elite but they had some very solid 1's many of those years. This is by far the deepest team in Oregon history.
Josh, you’re awesome, and I love when you talk about the Ducks, but I have one minor correction: Brian Michalowski is the inside linebackers coach, not the IOL coach. 😊
Oregon didn't have enough depth at CB last season. And their top 2 were were both out for the vet majority of their two games against Washington. Have a lot more depth now... Addressed that.... But do you really think there's another passing team this season, as good as Washington was when Penix was having a good day last season? Oh and he had some really bad days! Should have lost two games to low tier pac-12 teams. Only beat one of them because of a defensive interception in the end zone.... There were no passing touchdowns that game.
Secondary injuries were a major issue in CCG.
Ohio state probably... who knows.
Washington has the same BYE before the Oregon game so gotta keep that in mind. That being said, 11-1 is my prediction too. Go Ducks.
Washington lost 70% of starters and there head coach and more
JOSH!! BIG FAN FROM LA!! BUT I HOPE I GET THE CHANCE TO MEET YOU IN OREGON VS OHIO STATE!! ☝🏼☝🏼☝🏼
Duck fan here for decades. Every time analysts get "high" on Oregon they stumble. I luv 'em, but Oregon has always won games they were supposed to lose and lost games they were supposed to win. Talent depth has always been the issue. It MAY be different this year.
The hardest part of the schedule is gonna be 8 game stretch after the first Bi but I feel like that later bi could benefit a lot if things go right.
FYI, that kind of "bi" is spelled "bye", not "bi" :)
I would think Lanning is the most sought after HC even more than Smart... It shows that you don't need to
go after a 'name' coach when hiring.
Oregon has the historic prestige of s blue blood football school. Throw in all the nattys theyve won and its easy to see why they're favored to win it all.
Oregon has never won a natty
@@Ghost45MK no cheit Sherlock
It’s a joke Ghost

You are so wrong about Oregon. #9 OL? They are easily top 3. They lost 4 starters and still only gave up 5 sacks last year. What's gonna happen with an all Dan Lanning roster? They return 2 RBs who had 7 yards per carry. And they have the #1 WR room
Our defense is easily top5 too.
Not as good as OhioState, but it's better than Michigan.
Ill take OSU WR over Oregon ALL DAY LONG and twice on Sunday
@@robschaller9061Will Howard can't throw lmao
Good job for dominating the abolished pac 12
Yeah but the big ten is a whole different monster than the PAC 12. Position depth is key in the big ten.
As a duck fan I feel like Oregon is being overhyped. I want to see Lanning's in game coaching improve before they have any shot at winning the conference. I have them losing to Ohio st., Michigan, and Wiscinsin. Then there is also a very strong chance they drop one they shouldn't because they do that a lost. My guess is Purdue
10-2 is their worst case scenario
@@kev614 definitely not worst case
@@stephenbarcus 9-3 at the absolute worst
@kev614 that's more what I was thinking
Not going to lie it will be tough but that's what makes a duck more determined to do what they got to do to win it all the harder it is the more they fight❤🦆🦆🦆💯
Go ducks baby 🦆
Imagine if Oregon loses to Washington for the 4th time in a row
🤞
Ducks 🦆 need to step up. With new freshmen coming in they have a great chance of winning all 12. This team has huge potential if everyone can stay healthy. Let’s go Ducks 🦆!
The big question will be that 9 game stretch without a bye. That late bye is only an advantage if you survive the 9 game gauntlet in between your bye weeks
You know Ohio State is the big one…Not counting Michigan out, but they’re nowhere close to last year! Go Ducks!!! 👊🏻🏈
You are gonna find out about Michigan. What you gonna be saying when they take Texas to 3 points or even beat them? You better win something before you think you are gonna play with the big boys.
@@adamklosterman8960Sit tight.
@@adamklosterman8960 shut up bro do you not remember what happened the last time little ole Oregon pulled up to the big house? Michigan fans about to get a dose of reality now thag Harbaugh is gone.

Still waiting for Pate to take an under. I think he’s 5 for 5 on overs so far
Georgia 10-2
Freak injuries during the games killed Oregon against Washington last year. Without those, Ducks prevail both times.
Pate delusion back at it again
Hello from a Boise State fan. Can't wait to see you guys again 😀

The travel is such an X factor without any precedent.
EXACTLY.
The last time Oregon was this hyped Utah reminded them (twice) the ducks choke on the big stage!
Oregon back then had 12 year old girls playing in the trenches. You’re drunk if you don’t see how different these teams are built under Lanning now.
@@dwurgy. drunk maybe (I'd say tipsy) but Oregon is way over hyped, kinda like USC at the beginning of EVERY college football season!
@@samcobuggies984no no nothing like usc bro😂 Oregon under lanning has done what to Utah? Even in their own stadium where they don’t lose gave them an ass whooping.
@@mariofelix762 your not wrong about Utah, 😂
Lets go back in the way way back machine. What are you 6 years old.
Wow! Such a tough schedule.🤣
I took over 10.5 so I'll take 11-1!
I'd like to preface this before I make my comment, I'm not saying Gabriel is a bad QB, he's a really good QB, but to sit here and act like he's going to vault Oregon to being better than they were last season offensively is a bit of a stretch. They had Bo Nix who I believe is better than Gabriel but a smidge, if anything equal to. The biggest test will be seeing how Oregon's Defense improves from last season as I think their offense will be just as good as last season. It'll definitely be interesting to watch how the season plays out for sure!
Oregon had a very good defense last year. Top 10 in opponents ppg average
@@albertvillasenor7772 I wouldn't call it very good, I'd say above average to good, they were 35th in total yards allowed, 22nd in yds/g, 93rd in total passing yards, 63rd in passing yds/g, 14th in total rushing yds, 12th in rushing yds/g, 15th in total points and 11th in ppg. That passing defense was definitely your achilles heel.
OSU was in the top 3 in every category except rushing and even that they were top 20, and we bring back just about everyone except the linebackers and even added a couple of players through the portal that elevate the defense even better.
Also to the point of the Offense and how great they were, they were top 3 or so in just about every category except rushing, that's why I say it's hard for Gabriel to elevate the offense to better heights than last season. The only area that can improve to a substantial amount this season would be that running game.
I still think that Oregon is going to be a really really good team though, don't mistake my overview of everything. I am really excited to see what they'll bring to the Big 10 this season and going forward.
@@OSUBucks77 Respect! 🤝 Looking forward to Oct. 12th!
@@granthaag2560 Same here! It should definitely be the Game of the Year across College Football! Really looking forward to experiencing watching that amazing game in your Historic and Amazing Stadium! Cheers!
@@OSUBucks77 fair enough but you have to consider the caliber of offenses oregon was playing which pretty much every week we were going against an elite offense. It won't be like that in the big 10. I think our defense will be plenty good to compete for a b1g and national championship
All im gonna say is that arm aint as accurate as people are saying
Go Ducks!!!
People are clearly looking past Liberty...
In 2 years Lanning has lost a total of 5 games. Only 1 of which was a game that they really should have won. Lost to Georgia and it wasn't even close. Lost 3 really close games to Washington that could have gone either way but didn't. The loss to Oregon State was really the only one that they really should have won.
Oregon goes 11-1 or 12-0
12-0 regular season. Loss to Ohio State in the B1G title game matchup. Oregon enters the playoff as the 5 seed and Ohio State as the 2. Both run the table and meet for the third time for the Natty and Oregon finally puts to rest that tired trope of the O representing our number of Natties by going 2/3 against the Buckeyes. I'd put this in Pate's bold predictions but I doubt he bothers to check them this far out and yes Josh, if it was legal to bet on college football in Oregon I'd drop at least 100 on this bet.
I have been saying the same thing. 😂 2/3 against Ohio State this year.
12-0 regular season but ends up #5 and Ohio state #2. How?
@@Renegade11 12-1 overall for both teams with Ohio State's only loss coming from Oregon on the road and Oregon's only loss being to Ohio State in the conference title game giving Ohio State the bye and making Oregon the best one loss team in the country. Ohio State get's the #2 seed due to Georgia going undefeated and entering the playoffs 13-0 and with a tougher schedule.
I think Oregon goes 11-1 with a close loss in Ann Arbor. Dan Lanning’s team was excellent last season and was only kept out of the CFP due to 2 losses to Washington, both of which were extremely close games that could’ve easily went the other way. This has led to the narrative that Lanning cannot win a big game, when in reality I think it’s just bad close game luck (Oregon is 18-1 over the last 2 years in games decided by more than one score, but 4-4 in one score games). This year, Oregon is deeper and better at receiver, and everywhere defensively while adding a top 5 QB in CFB. They return a majority of their staff including both coordinators as well. This team is loaded and a serious title contender, and I believe Lanning will get his signature win October 12th.
Ann Arbor is a TUFF, HOSTILE place 2 play....no doubt about it! That said....Sharone has YET 2 navigate thru an ENTIRE year as HC! He DID an AMAZING job filling in for Harbaugh last year....but....each of those wins were DANG CLOSE!! With total respect, I have Oregon beating the Wolverines. I can see a scenario where Oregon slips up against the Badgers. ( just a gut feeling )
Ducks are a top 10 team, however they are not top 3-4 elite. Coach Lanning has lost 5 games in 2 years. This year's prediction for UO 12-2 or 11-3. Final poll somewhere in the top 7. I've got Georgia, Texas, OH State as the elite top 3, one of them will win it all
Notice how nobody liked your comment
10-2
12-0 Incoming…and BIG10 Champs…13-0
We shall see what happens in the CFP🦆🦆🦆
The Ducks are loaded, it’s scary. I’m taking the over. Don’t see them losing more than 1, which would be OSU.
I didn’t know @ Purdue was on a short week… shit
11-1. Lose in the semi finals.
I have them 12-0, losing in Indy in a rematch with OSU
Let's be real if Oregon loses to Washington 3rd time in a row Not good for Dan.
Oregon gonna have 2 regular season losses. Not beating the OSU or Michigan.
if Oregon is top 5 on October 19th AT Purdue, expect a loss. iykyk.
if oregon loses to ohio state they have no chance of losing to purdue tho
@@whatlol_ePurdue has the most top 5 wins as an unranked team out of any teams since 1936 by a mile. they only have 1 loss since 2019 hosting a top 5 team at home. it’s a death trap. Ohio State, Michigan State, Iowa, and eventually could be Oregon
luv you man
@@GoatedAtNFS you misunderstood what im trying to say. IM AWARE OF ALL THAT
im saying oregon would only lose if they beat ohio state and got all confident and cocky
Oregon barely defeats #1 Ohio State in a hard fought game. Emotionally drained, yet euphoric, the new #1 Beavers have a short turnaround Friday night game 2000 miles away in a small Indiana town. Purwho? Since the AP poll began in 1936, no unranked team has been more successful against the highest-ranked teams in the country. The Boilermakers have nine wins against AP No. 1 or No. 2 teams as an unranked squad, four more than any other program in the poll era. Well, well, well...how the turn tables.
In your dreams.
Oregon O line was going against a terrible pac12. You can’t compare that vs the Big Ten..
So when you say big10 are you talking about Michigan and Ohio?😂 because every other team is 🗑️
@@ventura80503 yes plus Iowa. If you compare pac12 vs the bottom half of big ten the defenses are better
Bro forgot about cj verdell running up ohio states ass a few years ago
@@albertvillasenor7772 yeah Michigan did it too but that defensive coordinator was fired and times have changed.
In the PAC12 the majority of the offenses were far better than that in the BIG10 so statistically the defenses weren't as good. In the BIG10 the defenses are statistically better because most of the offenses they play against stink
Oregon easily has A top five offense line and guarantee you they whoop Washingtons ass this year!!
Chip Kelly will find a way to mess it up
Oregon doesn't lost to Ohio State twice. Maybe they don't lose to them at all.
