    As far as the Shasta goes,I vote for replacing the motor.It's a classic;classics should be saved unless they're beyond fixing.As an OBS 92 GMC K1500 owner and daily driver,I'm all for saving the old trucks.Peace,brother...

    LS swap it and buy some 19” Alcoa’s to put on the Shasta. That would be cool and very different.

    I love the idea of a LS in the RV , I've had the dream for a while of having a LS swaped lowered RV . Love the video because it's not everyday you have a convoy of badass gm trucks rolling down the road

    a rebuild of that 400 isn't a bad idea , a proper rebuild 400 small block is reliable and low maintenance, with some upgrade parts more power, but a LS swap is also nice

    Sorry to hear that kitschy-cool Shasta ran dry! Dropping in an LS is a bit of an eye-roll. But it makes total sense (especially with a 4L80 in-hand) and rebuilding the 400 and dropping it in Ace gets a big thumbs up from me.

      Yeah I have a 1969 C10 with a nicely warmed up 350 that runs good & my son keeps offering his 383 SBC with FiTec or a 5.3 LS. Call me crazy but if it ain't broke why change it but the extra power would be sweet!

    Like# 377 Rebuild that 400 if possible. How's about adding a Holiday EFI Sniper on top of that engine and a 4L80E behind it? That will give you best of both worlds of Old and New School plus the reliability. I love the content and can't wait to see the next video of this fine Shasta and Smokey!

    2008 and up through at least 13 or 14 maybe earlier they have Chevy chassis van nose motor homes with 6.0 s so they would be a great find for your swap. Lots of wrecked damaged ones from storms. I am currently looking at the coachman leprechaun ones with the 6.0 s stock. They would be very simple trans motor swap. They didn’t change those frames much. Good luck. Great video.

    Small -blocks are pretty reliable, probably just an EFI conversion on the rebuilt 400 and a 4L80.

    Love the update...
    Just gotta say, not a fan of LS swapping everything under the sun. It honestly seems so "Cookie Cutter" . Kind of like the "Rat Rod" crowd painting everything flat black with red wheels and wide white walls.
    Other than that, Love the update.

      I'm not either, man. And we don't and want. And I had every intention of not swapping this one, but if it's coming out, new technology is going back in its place. As I mentioned in the video, this rig needs to make reliable power and smooth, low maintenance operation. I know that LS are cookie cutter, but it's because they do everything well. And for this rig, I need everything to perform well.

    The clutch in my 82Gmc Sierra took a dump on me or I'd been at SETN with the c10Kentucky bunch. Local guy round home won best original paint in a yellow 72c10 lwb...next SETN I WILL BE THERE in the Flaked Tater 82 😎 video on my channel

    That is a good looking rig. I have actual junkyard junk that I wouldn't pull out of the driveway without an oil pressure gauge.

      It's got an oil pressure gauge and it was showing about 45 psi interstate running - until it showed 0. Craziest thing I've seen. To be clear, I'm not saying this isn't my fault but I drive old shit all the time and I've never had this happen. Ever.

    I feel your pain....back when I had my '82 Stepside, I was trying like crazy to get everything buttoned up for Car Craft Summer Cruise in Lincoln....alot like what you did for SETN. Sunday morning, fired up, sounded like a million bucks and spotted coolant....running out of the header collectors....not what you want to find any time. I collected my thoughts, put the truck back in the garage and drove my daily driver, lowered '89 OBS. Disheartening, but educational experience 😃🤪😁

    Love that style RV. What year is that? I love one set it up to tow a small trailer with plenty of power for chasing the dirt bike circuit around the state would be pretty cool. If you do put a 6.0 in it a video of that would be cool.

    What year wheels are on smoky?? i need the same set so I can use my factory hub cabs like you did . Love the Shasta, if you decide to sell that 400 I would be in route immediately lol but would really be great in that badass van you got . Gosh darn brother your square collection is sick 😷 lol .       3 of them are factory steel wheels. 4th is actually a Ford wheel but I have another GM wheel for it. The hubcaps are hard to find and very spendy. And hey, Rocky! :)

      @@UNITEDBYTRUCKS I see... My k30 crew srw came with the original rims and hub caps but obviously can't use the 16.5 so I'm on the hunt for some 16 inch factory rims. My hub caps are in great shape to I lucked out for sure .

      Yep, they didn't want to and I said there was no question it needed to come out. it came out. You can see it laying under the door on the gravel in video.

    If you rebuild the engine why wouldn't it be reliable? From watching your video it seems your displays weren't working. Fuel gauge, ran out of petrol. If your oil gauge was working you would have seen low pressure? Keep the same engine in your caravan.

      Thanks, man. You have a but of a point and I appreciate it, but the oil pressure gauge was working, though I didn't notice anything abnormal 'til it was too late. As for the reliability, nothing compares to the power and adaptability of different climates like an LS. yes, I could fuel inject the 400 and i still might, but I'm going with the most maintenance free and power I can afford to move my family and the crew around the country.

    Make it a reliable reliable rv, so you can enjoy it without the headaches of an unreliable power train. So if you feel than an ls is the way to, well, go for it!
