Thank you for showing the g35 hr some love.
Just wanted to say 2 years later, this DIY helped me install this kit in half the time. Appreciate it bro!
Crazy I watched your video on mute while listening to future and still learned how to do it. Great instructions bro!
Awesome! Great video, I've been looking for an HR catchcan video all week
Man could really use your help with my car. Got the same car
Great video explained everything perfectly
did you replace Oil Cooler O-ring seal to your vq35hr?
What size T fitting did you use??
Nice diy vid. For the price I would want fitted hoses though
Can I do this to my Q50 3.7? Thanks for this very informative video!!
Yes.
How did it work? I was thinking about getting a breather catch can
I’d rather go with something simpler
@Enthusiast POV well have two of them, I'm probably just gonna use 1, it looks like a pain
Very informative, Just one question I clicked on link on description reads 2007-2008 can I still use if I have 06 model?
This is for the 07-08 mode only
Hey man I know this is a older video on install. I have the same catch can setup. My question is why am I only getting oil in the left side catch can?
Can you do this with an aftermarket cold air intake
Awesome and enjoyable content yet VERY INFORMATIVE 👍🏼👍🏼🔥🔥
Thank you !
I've owned both Gs 3.5HR 07 , 3.7HR 11 and never had an oil problem with the 3.5 but the 3.7😭. The 3.5HR in the 07 G is one of the best engines Nissan ever made !!! I beattt on my car harddd and she still wants more 170k💪.. Think what car do Z1 take there parts from...
Hell yeah this thing only has 119k I’m just glad to be able to help a company showcase their product
so yu never had burning oil on hr buh da vhr
Most excellent post ! Would that work on Q60 VR30 perhaps ? I was going with two hoses but now i'm on the fence . hum........
I'm confused about the 2nd install, is the fitting on the right side another PCV?
On the output to intakes...do the instructions specify to have it right in middle of the intakes(equal length hoses going to each intake), or could it be offset to be closer to valve cover inlet connection, in order to route the hoses more together? Looks like there's enough room to have them side by side all the way over to driver side valve cover/intake tube. Wondering if they NEED to be equal lengths or if it would really even matter. Can't see it being that important
I got one catch can from Amazon, is it ok If I install the left side only without installing the second catch can (right side) ?
Nice bro , dose the kit icomes with all the hardware and hoses from the website
I know this video is old hopefully you respond wondering what you added when you bought the kit or it included the hoses and everything and another thing should I do this instead of replacing the pcv hoses ???
I'm honestly amazed you didn't just pull the Intakes out entirely just for some extra room to work, personally I think OCC are overkill for the VQ motor unless your tracking the car.
But I've never owned a VQ35HR so maybe that version of the motor required it.
One of those things where I go above and beyond to help companies showcase their products through my channel. Essentially the PCV in the VQ should either be deleted, ventilated, or canned.
@@EnthusiastPOV Yeah it would be nice if they came that way stock, but a throttle body cleaning once ever year or two is pretty easy... But I suppose so is a catch-can setup.
Vent them
@@BigHeadClan the problem with your advice is the oil doesn't stay in the throttle bodies, its pooled in the upper mani the lower mani and eventually into the head gumming the spark plugs and valves. Delete it or catch can.
@@OGYELLOW Having looked into this issue more after my OP months ago there is a strong argument NOT to delete the PCV system because it's designed to release crank case pressure so the underside of the piston has less pressure build up.
The Piston rings would likely wear quicker as a result. So it's Vent/Catch-Can or stock.
The amount of oiling is really minor, sure there is some oil circulated into the upper manifolds but the lower manifold would burn off most of it and even after 100K miles my Spark plugs (save one) looked perfectly fine.
Engine is currently nearing 170K miles and running like a clock, again I don't feel like the NA VQ motors need this mod unless track duty is planned.
How do you drain the catch cans?
Ok for years catch cans have been used aftermarket but never used by manufacturers at all. Any reason why?? I just leave everything original
Do you really need 2 catch cans.i saw a video were they only used one? Now I'm confused.. How much will this setup cost me. And do you have any advice on more first mods with this car
He has a VQ35HR, which has 2 intakes, so yeah he needs 2 of them. The one you seen was the VQ35DE, which has 1 intake.
As far as price, depends on what you have but this can be done at home with basic hand tools.
Could do a single 2 in 1 out can...but would have to drain more often most likely.
@@bman409 nah bro I saw the same video he only used one on the HR I was wondering if that is proper though? Saves me a lot of work lmfao
@@somerandomguy4130 I never seen 1 catch can on a HR.
@@bman409 I dont undestand the second one on the right, is there another PCV on the right side as well
Can you use these catchcans with a turbo VQ35HR??
Expensive but I want to do it so bad
What if you have 3in intakes that don’t have the holes on the sides
the part at 2:12 you are holding, what is that called so I can order a new one? the plastic to mine chipped off as well.or should I just toss it out and install the catch cans like you did
I didnt know they made g35 hr's
Yeah 350z and g35 hrs right before the 3.7 dropped when VVEL was introduced
please tell me, what is the inner diameter of the hoses?
Would this set up work for the 3.7?
Do you have the link to this catch can by any chance bro?
With the catch cans that go for a Q50 3.0t be the same for a Q50 3.7,,,, and on the website they only have 2016 will it still fit on a 2015 Q50 3.7
Nope. The Q50s 3.7 is n/a not turbo so it will be a different setup
@@EnthusiastPOV now will they have on that ad WW1 website a setup for the Q50 3.7
I’m running a BP singe turbo kit and I don’t think this set up would work for me... is there any way you can point me in the right direction?
Soho catch can breather kit
Enthusiast POV damit lol, I just bought these add w1 catch cans for no reason then. I appreciate ya!
Anyone know if 350z hr is laid out the same as g35 hr? I just cannot find a tutorial or write up anywhere on the internet all I see is for DE engine.
It is the same
Do you really need the t connection
Hey bro so HR do need two oil catch can ?
Just 1
@@EnthusiastPOV but you can use 2 right? Because the look of your video it kind of look like you do need 2 but I don't know bro I'm young and need to learn all this stuff
Any performance difference?
did you cap the other PCV on the backside? or did you still kept the there and cap it ?
Would this catch can setup fit on a 350z HR?
Yes
Hi. Would it be possible to see how much was caught at your next service? Thanks
I will post a video in the next 1000 miles
Did you see a improvement
Did it help with consumption
In my case it’s more preventative since I’m not having any issue
What's up man good video. Do you think that set up would fit a 2015 Q50 3.7
They have one for the 3.7 G37
#bae support
Appreciate it boss
