Heron catches Toad .

Spring seems to be on its way and I saw a Heron at the Swans Pond today. One of them was on the far bank and I managed to film it catching a Toad.tell me in the comments below

Not a toad.. that's a frog (bull frog, leopard frog). Toads are terrestrial, frogs are aquatic.

What is it with people mixing frogs and toads with each other? Sure they are very similar except for frogs jump and toads hop, frogs have to stay moist or else dry up and die, toads go off far from water. They all reproduce back at the pond but if you image search frogs and toads, they are different.

Actually, the duck might have helped the heron by making the prey expose itself to the heron.

Herons are great stalkers which combined with the frogs one-tracked mind in spring makes them reliable and easy prey. Great video :)

Even if we cannot change certain things, we can feel indignation nonetheless and compassion and sorrow for those who are suffering. Where there is cruelty and suffering, there is cruelty and suffering and it doesn’t matter how it is caused and by whom it is caused. I cannot be complacent and indifferent to it and am glad for you stepping in and showing your empathy to those poor creatures too.
