At 1st, I thought the bird had bitten more than it could swallow. Would it need lunch and dinner after such a heavy breakfast?
I'm honestly not even sure it could have SURVIVED after eating something that big. Might have choked itself!

Makes me hungry. I, once, spent two nights on the shore of the Laguna Madre amidst 100's of nesting Great Blue Herons. My ankles were their intended breakfast. Beautiful job, Aaric. When will the newest book be published?
