Figuring out the lie or not is secondary. The 'entertainment' is in making people try to assert ridiculous propositions while other people try to poke holes in it. The show runners have to come up with 'lies' that are outlandish enough to be interesting, but believable enough to be defended, and from there it's just an improv game.
IMO, I have. Their 'job' is to entertain by considering the possibility that he's telling the truth.If they don't 'go along' with thinking something could be true, the episode is1 - premise2 - that's bullocks3 - credits.
