He had a bad slump in the beginning but now he's been a fantastic keeper. Really controls his box and is a very good ball distributer. Although De Gea made great saves he didn't have those other attributes that Onana has.

The amount of shots per game is alarming
Midfield and the coach are the issue. Defense is actually solid. United can't keep possesion due to a bad system and tactics and an unbalanced/washed midfield. Opponents have the ball often so therefore they atrempt. Maguire, Lisandrk have been great. Dalot and Varane been solid. Its really a midfield and coach issue. Eriksen and Casemiro are washed. Bruno is a hollywood passes type of player not a methodical possession one. McTominay is like a false 9. Mainoo and Mount rarely get involved in games. Just spurts. Midfield is the issue. Also the system the coach has tried to implement makes it hard. He is similar to Van Gaal. Boring football struggling to build up and keep possession
No big six goalkeeper is exposed to these number of shots
It’s not the shots it’s the mistakes the avoidable ones are annoying
Example United would have gotten enough points to get into the round of 16 but Onana

For those who don’t know Manchester United has faced the most shots against this season the most more than Burnley and Sheffield United the bottom teams in EPL. Yes it’s normal to adjust for any goal keeper to United it’s a ridiculously big job and criticism is inevitable. I’m happy he’s doing great now and shutting up trollers on internet who doesn’t have faith on keepers and the manager. He’ll even be better next season with possession football

to be fair, onana's actually a really good goalkeeper, carried inter milan to the UCL final, he had a bad start at manchester united but he's actually doing very well now. he's amazing with his feet, also has some world class reflexes, his diving is fair, i think his weakness is positioning. he doesn't go forward very often in 1v1 situations, for example.
Out of all the goals conceded in this video, only 2 I could say that he could have done better. Rest all were such that even prime Buffon or Casillas couldn't save. And atleast 10 of the saves were world class which atleast 30% of the top level GKs could have conceded. I think Onana is a great replacement to DDG and he's actually on the level of Alison and Ederson. Man Utd's defence lacks at times.

Onana has crazy reflexes, not that good at handling, doesn’t have initiative (he doesn’t usually rush his opponents and always stays near goal), good catch and poor clearance.
Man Uniteds three problems 1.ten hag the weird manager who doesn't places marcus rashford on central forwards 2. harry maguire is central back 3. the goalkeeper whos form is dropping by every match
Even with all the shots he has quite a few clean sheets and usually only concedes when it’s literally impossible to save as a GK
