as a goalkeeper, most of us goalies know about ortega because his spread technique is absolutely phenomenal, his agility his out of this world, and most goalkeepers actually look at ortega as a benchmark
As a benchmark for a keeper as a whole or for his spread? What's your perspective as a keeper on Ortega vs Ederson?
@@grthorn3461 his spread specifically, my thoughts on the ederson ortega debate, personally (a lot of my goalie mates do disagree) i find ortega better, because ederson in terms of distribution is out of this world but ortega isn't bad himself, probably one of the best as well in terms of distribution but he is an exceptional shot stopper, which well is the weakness of ederson, he is no where near elite in terms of making saves
@@larikmustafa2035facts
@@larikmustafa2035 the problem with pep is that he likes players that are good with the ball in their feet, and also he prefers sweeper keepers because he has a high line and high pressure, which is why he sold the joe hart for Ederson which is has proven to have the qualities I mentioned. He is though lacking in his ability to stop the ball, which is what man city suffered with for the first few seasons, eventually he improved but I cannot deny the fact that Ortega is a better shot stopper
@@larikmustafa2035his save against nunez in the 1-1 draw is also very crucial, might be straight on ortega but I don't have high hopes that ederson saves that 9 times out of 10
he has his own technique that actually works
As much as i hate martinez didn’t he popularize that technique in the world cup final against kolo muani?
Peter Schmeichel was doing this stuff 30 years ago
@@paulcallister9564Are you serous? It's called spread save, what the heck 😂😂 it's been a around forever.
No his technique is completely normal, he just does it perfectly a lot.
He is a cat, that's it
2:07
This one is insane 🔥🔥
Bro turned a rubber 😂😂😂
The flexibility to pull that off is insane. Man has some well tuned hips
Pep fell down before Ortega did lol XD
czcams.com/video/_HE-D4FarY8/video.htmlsi=v6ABZ0dsO9QxRQCk
He deserves to be a starter. Fantastic keeper with a better save rate % than ederson
ederson is more of a distribution specialist
True@@mofgsh5
He absolutely can, but he chose to be second keeper. He had offers for first teams just didn’t take them.
His distribution is just as good too
@@gamakujira64e23 no, his distribution is good, but nowhere near eddie, thats why pep has said many times that Ederson is the no1
Ortega shows that you dont need to be tall to make good saves.
Navas, sommer, ochoa..
@@Edo-fg9gb campos
@@Edo-fg9gb CASILLAS!
Cassilas is tall he’s 6,1
@@GoatedEdits9214Same height as Ortega
Whats so impressive and allows him to be this good is how composed and calm he is. If you take a close look, no matter where the opposite player is, they can be literally open right in front lf him, he stays COMPLETELY still and does not give a single hint to whoever is trying to score, which not only affects the opposite player but also allows him to go exactly where he needs to go. That and the combo of his elasticity and reflexes
0:31 "He spreads himself 🥵"
😳
no diddy
When Ortega saved that yesterday I was literally crying because I'm an arsenal fan
spurs wont let arsenal be the champions, thank god city's won it. cause london is always blue forever
@@firmanswearefootballer3346that made my sad…
💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
@@firmanswearefootballer3346London is blue but you have same amount of leagues as Sunderland 😂

In his time in the Bundesliga for Bielefeld he was more prominently known for his insane openers. He had so many assists or 2nd to last passes it's insane.
Finally is this Arminia Bielefeld Legend getting the recognition he deserves. World class keeper.
nagelsmann: nah bro he aint good enough for the team 💀
Taking 4 Goalies to the tournament
Considering all the other keepers are the number one at theyr team, yeah. Neuer & Ter Stegen are World class, Baumann was probably the best Bundesliga keeper this season, and Nübel is the long term future for the National Team after Ter Stegen, they obviously have more reasons to be called up than a guy who made 8 apperances. But if he would have been called up, nobody could have critizised it. He deserves to be the 1st keeper at a european top/international club
@@heart_of_angel8238 Neuer was world class, maybe 5 years ago. Now keeps giving away goals to the opposition with his mistakes and Hollywood poses, he has been involved in an embarrassing number of big defeats (Spain 6-0 Germany) and early exits for Germany yet always evades the criticism.
I would have loved to see him as a german national keeper and he’s definitely good enough but he played not enough games this season you can not justify that
@@liamkohler5641 but he's proven himself to perform very well, as you can see. the point is, nagelsmann took 4 keepers with him to the euros, so 1 of them could easily have been him instead.
his body stretch and leg blocks are crazy. and i think its worth to mention how well he positioned his body as well. wasnt too near the goal to allow spaces, wasnt too far out for the attacker to go around or make an easy lob. its just perfect and intelligently played.
He has good game iq he knows what the player have to shoot a certain way to score. He keeps his foot work tight and his 1v1 is calm secured and not panic. You have to have a lot of self belief you can make the save and trust your intuition. He still has mindfulness when pressure comes and knows the player has a window to shot or he fails to score.
actually amazing
brilliant compilation
great keeper
That last save 🥶
He performs Whenever he gets a Chance..Never seen him ghosting in a Game (I have never seen him play before the match of spurs)
lmao
He is so elastic
If we win the title, ortega is going down in folklore
With Casillas and Martinez! Title winning saves
Probably on the same level as vinny thunderbolt vs leicester.
@@ameenaftab2803 Nothing beats the Martinez save tho. The whole world just stopped at that second and I still believe it was the most important save in football history.
@@momentarylapse1362 Maybe bcoz u were supporting Argentina. All 3 are title winning saves.
@@ameenaftab2803 You're comparing premier league title winning save to the fucking world cup winning save bro...
Ortega is an unsung hero in City's title win this season. Came in for Ederson and performed his role super efficiently with no fuss.
IDK if u have noticed this but ortega normally starts in big games. For me he should be starting because if the opponent team has found a way to counter man City defence ,then on 1v1 situations ortega's speciality saves it most of the times.
You’re absolutely right. He should start the big games. Only thing is he needs to improve his distribution with the feet. I have seen him make some mistakes
that form is unbeatable for close counters tho. everywhere is closed you should pass the keeper at that point.
A good attacking coach will prepare players before the game - go round him, instead of shooting from close to him. Difficult in a match situation of course, but that would definitely be my mental preparation to players before playing City. Old school R9 style rounding the keeper (check out the "3 Minutes Of Ronaldo Humiliating Goalkeepers..." video on CZcams). Get players studying that.
He is indeed exceptional in 1v1s and an overall very good for a secondary gk
Lunin was a third choice gk 🥵🥵
Can you please make a video on Francisco Conceição from FC Porto in 2024? He is an absolute talent! The world deserves to know this young man. 🇵🇹
His technique should be called "butterfly"
underrated
Crazy how clutch he is
He does the full split
He played like prime emi im the wc
Ew
Prime emi 😂😂
That overrated one match wonder
I would love to be an overrated one match wonder if that match is a wc final , seriously 99% of the viewers will love to be that guy @@sanjidsamin2859
He deserves to be number one keeper doesn't matter in Mancity or in another club
Looks like futsal goalkeeping to me, very good technique from him👍🏻
When I met him I told him, “I hope you get the starting job one day” he said thank you we talked a little more and look where we are now with my guy 😊
the very lst clip is insane
He had every single one!
well, now we know who spiderman is
No.1 key is he does not commit, he does not come all in and make it easy for the forwards, he just steps forwards little bit narrowing the angle, low down and make himself big when the ball is shot, 80% he will block the ball. He's posturing himself that the forward has to really beat him with a very, very good finish, which is not easy
He stops closing the angle when the forward is able to touch the ball. His positioning for the Son save was absolutely perfect, pretty much completely closed down all angle to the goal and was set just in time for the shot itself. By not coming all the way out he stops Son from being able to dribble around him, so Son has to change his course of action last minute because most keeper would rush out and go down
HE HAS THE SPLIT
1:40 and 2:08 incredible, middle slip :)
Manuel Neuer does the exact same thing. Amazing one vs one. Guardiola said the same about him.
"he's the best on one v one" Tell that to rodrygo 😅
Either he or lunin this 2 turn into fkin beast
Reminds me of Casillas. Not the tallest, lightning quick, spreads extremely well- not just with his hands but feet as well.
teach this guy to skate - he plays like a hockey goalie
He might save Kolo Muani's World cup final shot too 🔥
Look like a Futsal goalkeeper
Rodrigo: not today 💀
if i was ederson i would be furious rn
imagine Stefan Ortega as a futsal goalie
Commentators never give even " a good save" they wont say
Maybe once
Ederson is a master at composure, Ortega is a master at anticipation
The 🐐
holy shit his technical ability is insane it rivals top goalkeeps wtf
Might have to copy his technique ngl
@@HojlundUnited its very hard to copy, his technique relies on reading where the opponent will shoot, reaction time, speed, etc. good luck trying to copy hihs technique tho
the fuck
he use futsal gk technic in football (and it’s work) 😂😱
he deserve to be in german squad in the euro at least as a third gk
He's a good gk
I wish we could combine Edersons ability to play with the ball with Ortega's shot stopping ability but we can't have it all 😂
Everytime i see him i feel like he looks small in the goal
Von Bielefeld zum UCL-Sieger 😅❤
he could be a good futsal keeper
The dude is like some furniture corners for striker..
He uses futsal goalkeeper techniques
Oswaldo Sánchez se ríe de esta recopilación
Bro got 1 move. And thats the finishing move.
Bro became emi martinez with these saves
He is very similar to Ederson in one on one situations imo
Yes
"He is ONE OF the best...."
yeah we definitely saw that today against united
The only yhing he has to 2atch is that ue doesn't get chipped but it is a chance you take coming out to the edge of nox to close the angle down.
Stefan ortega is the best substitute goalkeeper in the world . So underrated
Better shotstopper than Ederson for sure
I’ve seen enough from Emi Martinez to think he’s the one I want guarding my goal in whatever situation.
I want a video of all big chances mo salah missed please
nice
Ortega is on his way to become the best goalie in the world
Allison?
Maybe i'm crazy but his motions seems to be quite similar to the ones of ice hockey goalies, he might had a look at that and try to copy it.
Most underatted keeper in the league
Neuer is the real one!!
Germany nominated 4 goalkeepers for the EURO but left Ortega at home...why?
refreshing to see a goalkeeper use all four limbs to do his job
I am sick of seeing keepers drop to attempt a save with their glove when the shot would have hit their foot if they hadn't moved at all. it's freaking embarrassing!
Seems to have good reactions from close in, and his spread covers a lot of the areas where strikers aim for.
I’d say he’s kinda like Neuer or Ter stegen. They are very “late” to spread out when saving and are really good at 1v1s.
Another person who is sorta similar is emi Martinez. Ofc I’m talking about that World Cup save in the final seconds.
Waiting and waiting and spreading their body out properly. If you somehow mimic what he does you’d probably save a lot of 1v1s. Getting your legs to save is definitely a great skill to have.
Also I’m not a goalkeeper, but I’m hoping professional goal keepers wear jockstraps. I could not imagine facing the type of shots they do and then one day a player scuffs a shot but with a lot of power and it just whips right into your crotch.
Ortega and Kelleher are way too good to be back ups but they actually get decent minutes
So why does he persist with Ederson then.
Imagine how many champions league they could have had if they got the goalkeeper correct
❤❤
Personally, Alisson is the best at 1v1 saves
If you noticed, he only has one same move for 1 vs 1.... Great timing though 👍
He literally does she splits at times.
For me, the best 1v1 is Casillas
I mean good possitioning and making his body big
I make that every PE lesson cuz back players are bad
“Ever” is a big word to throw
he's a big reason why we are currently chasing the double
Er ist momentan mit Abstand der beste deutsche Torhüter, aber im DFB gibt es weiterhin Strukturen, gegen die man anscheinend nichts machen kann.
Casillas will always be the best at 1v1s. Most of his highlights are always 1v1 situations.
Either him or Kahn, probably.
If only Finisher’s knew how to do the Messi Chip🍼
The german way
the only way
More like futsal GK save
Ortega from Arminia Bielefeld🔵⚫️⚪️
Only if you Close your eyes and pretend Allison doesn’t exist
Vinicius son ❤
I mean he is really good but Allison is the best, no disrespect to Ortega though
