  • As talked about in the first video.
I decided to make the changes necessary for a decent size through bore.
A lot better now with the modifications.

      Hey Lloyd.
It has turned out to be more work than I thought.
But now that it's finished it's worked out for the better.
It has been great using it.
Just need to sort out a place to store it when not in use.
As you buy stuff you find yourself with a new problem.
      Where to put it, LOL.
Thanks for following along during my videos.
      Much appreciate the Positive thoughts.
      Peter.

      Hey Chris.
You can come and borrow it when ever you want just let me know when you need it, LOL.
Yes the review was fairly in depth.
I sort of get a little carried away sometimes with what I want to show in a video.
But the information might be handy for someone interested to buy one.
      Apologies for the late reply.
It was something i was going to do later but later was very later ??
      All the best.
      Peter.

      Hey Tim.
It has been working great so far.
Looking forward to making more use of it
Just taking some time to get the speed dialed in.
      Otherwise all good.
      Thanks for watching these videos.
      Peter.

I recently purchased the 30 kg version of this. could you please tell me specifically what you did and what you used to slow your table down be it gear drive or replacing the motor. thank you

    • @weldmachine
      @weldmachine  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Hi Roger.
I haven't modified the gear ratio or motor on my version.
It's still the same as it came from the manufacturer.
Possibly the 30kg version has a different drive ??
The main modification on the version I have is with the through bore.
I'm not that familiar with the 30kg model, it would be difficult to give you any ideas of what you could do to be able to slow it down any further, other than using an electronic variable speed drive ( VSD )

Have watched both reviews, very helpful, thank you! I am looking to buy it via Ebay with torch holder. I am interested how difficult it is to connect auto switch to the welding gun so that it starts and stops automatically according to the timer?

    • @weldmachine
      @weldmachine  Před 4 lety +1

Unfortunately i have not connected the switch from the welding hand piece as yet.
I think it should be fairly straightforward as it,s only 2 wires that run this part of the positioner.
I only use the foot control at the moment, but can understand how good it would be to set it up using the trigger switch.
One disappointment i did get when unpacking the positioner was there was no torch holder.
I contacted the seller including a photo of the opened box with no torch holder.
I asked them could they send it to me.
A couple of days went past i received a reply.
They could not supply me with this part as a separate item ?
They did refund me the value of the torch holder which was fairly good of them.
The item itself is fairly well made for the price, i have no other complaints after owning it for a few months now.
All the best with your purchase when you buy.
      Peter.

@@weldmachine Ok, yes, hopefully it will not be a problem to connect the gun. Will make sure that my positioner comes with the torch-holder. Thank you!

As standard did it run as slow as you showed in the video or did you modify the ratio?

    • @weldmachine
      @weldmachine  Před 2 lety

I have only modified the overall length of the through bore.
      Which you Might ??
Have seen in my other videos.
Not totally sure which version you are currently watching.
IF you're asking would it be okay to buy.
      I would say.
      Yes.
It has been running very well since making the videos.
Hopefully the videos give you the information you're looking for.
      All the best.

    Gr8 video.
Rotational speed is declared from 0,5-5 rpm, this means that at 5rpm chuck makes a turn in 12 sec. But you said 18 sec at maximum speed. I checked turning with time displayed on video, and it seems 10-11sec, but it is not an accurate measurement. Where is the truth?

Great videos. If I understand correct, you generally recommend this positioner. Where can I buy it ?

    • @weldmachine

I just had a look on ebay.
There are a few available currently on there site.
Prices vary depending on what model you are looking to buy.
I still have the same Welding Positioner as shown in this video.
All has been good with no problems with the unit.
Definitely recommend it especially if you don't need to use it everyday.
      Hope this information helps.
      All the best.
      Peter.

@@weldmachine Hi Peter, many many thanks for your kind reply. I will look on ebay. They are mainly made in China, but guess good ones end up in Europe at the end of the day. Apparently you are happy with your positioner with your mods. Do you have a business website or an email if I need further help regarding the modifications? Best regards. Kerem
