    They wanted to adopt little Huxley after he was diagnosed with brain tumor and even when they found out it was terminal, because she wanted to milk his funeral and get all the sympathy and views from it. When the diagnosis changed to autism, they still kept him for fame. When they found out his death wouldn't have been a way to get rid of him, the rehomed little Huxley.

    • @aidaminyu7004
      @aidaminyu7004 Před 4 lety +67

      @@isa-qm2jy I understand what you mean...but in this case, it is largely an exploitation of a child, and is very damaging for him.
      The long reason why - in the first place they ignore the doctors advice prior to adopting the boy, saying " the words went in and out the other ear". So why are they suddenly listening now when they choose to be irresponsible the first place..they specifically wanted a special need kid but don't bother understanding the boy's situation (food insecurity and mistaken it for the boy throwing a tantrum) and igniting the doctor advice.
      Secondly, rehoming a kid comes with lots of risk as well. There are currently no proof that the kid has been sent to another family. Myka claimed that the new family has medical training but she also said she had medical training and that's why she specially wanted a special need child (with obvious special need trait) who is easy to care for.
      Thirdly, the Stauffer are loaded, they just bought a new mansion, went on a new holiday after making alot of money off the adoption video and crowd funding without caring about the boy's privacy, yet they cannot afford to get him a better treatment. Not to mention adopted kids who are sent away, might not get readopted, and with this boy's existing attachment issue it will be very difficult for him to adapt to a new environment, not to mentioned a new family. Changing environment once is already quite damaging to a child growth, let alone a kid with special needs and attached disorder. Based on all the envidence out there, not a single one can support how this family really care for this child at all. Maybe you give them the benefit of the doubt, but do more research on it and if all the envidence from countless source (including the Stauffer own words that they will support their biological children if they behave this way instead of giving away) will definitely be obvious to you that this family was using him for clout and returning him when they found it too difficult to handle.

      @@kristingallo2158 I haven't done a lot of digging, but from what I've gathered, it's legal. The cases tend to go through the adoption agencies though, not on f'in online marketplaces. But it happens enough that "private rehoming" is a thing.
      But like you said, it shouldn't be. It seems like it's flying below legislators radars, so no one has made a law banning it.

    This wasn't mentioned in the video but another reason rehoming him is so hurtful is because some people with autism need structure and any minor change in that schedule can send you into a meltdown so I can't imagine the pain, confusion, and fear that little boy experienced having to leave the family he learned to grow attached to. He'll grow up hearing about this knowing he was given away because he was too much to handle - it will crush his self esteem. If he didn't feel like a burden, he'll definitely feel that now.

    I am a mom to a 16 yr old with high functioning autism and cognitive delays. He’s also deaf. I’m 1:40 into this video and I’m in shock.
    I’m sorry, do you think I was told about every special need my son would have? Nope!
    We went for years without a diagnosis and knowing something wasn’t right. Because my son is deaf, they didn’t have a sure fire way of testing him for autism. The appearance of autism made itself very known. Then, in February of this year, he was diagnosed with epilepsy.
    It doesn’t matter what information you are told or aren’t told. You adapt.
    Don’t try to change the child to fit the environment. Change the environment to fit the child.
    They don’t deserve the chance to adopt again. IMO

      Are we surprised? They decided to have another biological child after adopting their special needs child but claim he is "too much to handle." If he was that much work, then why did you have another kid???? They don't care.

    • @nikki2442
      @nikki2442 Před 4 lety

      Because the reason they wanted to adopt a kid in the first place still exist. You’re acting like they gave up the kid because they didn’t want to help a less fortunate kid anymore. They couldn’t help THAT KID but he’s not the only unwanted child in the world so he’s they should surely adopt. What self less thing have you done lately?

      They legit got annoyed because he stared at them.. While they ate.. Something so harmless drove the husband "bonkers" as they said. Makes me think what legit behavior issues he had and how they treated him because of it because it "annoyed them".

      @@KarloStars This is a bad sign for them, staring is a way of curiosity for kids (not even just H--, this is normal for kids). This means he wasn't taught how to eat, but it's good because he was trying to learn for himself. He was showing progress through staring, and he might have autism so he doesn't know staring is creepy and rude (not insulting him, that's what people consider it), but it also means he LEARNING for himself so good on him.

    When someone adopts a dog and gives him away, several times, it says a lot about their character. If you do this to a dog you certainly are more able to do it to a person. And they did, to a special needs toddler. It’s heartbreaking what I’m hearing actually... I’m a nursing student, vegetarian, dog and human lover, and everything about this goes against my values. I understand it must not be easy at all coping with having a SN child. But nothing justifies their actions.
