    Is all the unloading of the box trailers done by hand or is there some kind of system to drag them back out.

    Why? It's very expensive to Press the big bales, so why don't you make the Small bales on the field?
    What about Krone multibale?

    • @samkom33
      @samkom33 Před 6 lety +1

      krone multibale is great, but quite expencive NEW..
      YOU CAN easyly find used big balers of many types for a few thousand dollars that dont need as much costly repairs as a modern COMPLICATED multibaler.
      lets say your a medium hay produser that have many types of customers...... ALL FROM big farmers that buy most of the big bales and many people that own 1 or 2 horses,,,,,,, down to town folk that own say a 2 pound rabbit,,,
      the ones with the 2 pound rabbit would hawe hay-straw a LIFETIME WITH 1800 pound bale,, but problem is to transport it in a normal car---CARRY IT UP THE ELEVATOR AND STORE IT IN A BEDROOM.. HEHE
      Here in norway i can go to my local foodshop,, in the pet section i find down to around 2 pound bags of hay-ore straw-sawdust and such.. and if i go to a bigger farmerstore i find those+ bigger types 20-40-60-80 pound bales,, and so on up toFULL SIZE BALES

    or just get the Krone multibale big pack baler

  • @harvey50ok
    @harvey50ok Před 10 lety +1

    It would be easy to make a system to unload the box trailer if no one has already did it. One could be designed in less than 30 minutes.

    Why rebale big bales instead of just baling small square bales directly in the field?

  • @ooocrowooo
    @ooocrowooo Před 8 lety +4

    So why don't you just bale small bales to began with, saving time and money??

    • @MessicksEquip
      @MessicksEquip  Před 8 lety +3

      +JamesCrowonline
      small bales are harder to handle & ship. Generally the people using this are shipping in big bales from some distance away and converting them into a different package. Not all go to a normal small bale, many go to mini bales (think 4x6 or 8x11) with another machine we also sell.

    Will round bales work instead of big squares?

    • @travishanson166
      @travishanson166 Před 5 lety

      Can do the same thing with a straw or hay buster for rounds. Just have to use 2 tractors.

  • @georgewalker2497

    Or get on the 21st century and use the big bales straight out to the destination (eg cattle trough ) save the labour and back ache of little bales

  • @prentisgoodwin848
    @prentisgoodwin848 Před 4 lety

    Why not just use a Maxilator square bale the hay in the field and load straight to trailer? That extra piece of equipment and labor looks a little expensive.

    Some guys don’t understand that big bales cost nothin compared to small bales a few states south

  • @thedukeproductions9080

    This only pays when hay prices are at all time highs. Just bale it with a small baler......🤔

    Why bother...

    • @travishanson166
      @travishanson166 Před 5 lety

      Because the hay operation buys the hay for $100 per 1800lb , packs them into 36 50lb bales and sells them for $10-$20 a piece depending where they are going. So $100 to $360 or $720 retail. Profit is higher if the hay operation baled the big squares to begin with, usually costing around $60 a bale to produce. Most commercial small.squares go to show animals and horses.

  • @koltens.4854
    @koltens.4854 Před 7 lety +2

    why did you rebale it it makes no sence

    • @MessicksEquip
      @MessicksEquip  Před 7 lety +5

      its done by commercial hay operators who prefer working with dense and easy to handle large square bales, but need other sizes of bales for retail. We commonly set up people who are taking 1800lb large square bales and rebaling them down into 3-4lb 4.5x6 mini-bales for retail. The cost per ton at retail can easily justify the cost of the equipment.
