I work for pick n pull in California.. we have to separate everything that comes with the car. From household items, medicine and other items. Freon, oil, brake fluid and windshield washer fluid, gasoline get recycled. California is a way stricter state.
They get upset about tube tvs in the cars these days unfortunately, I used to bust about ten in,every car. They don't exist like that any more fortunately.
A quick yahoo search for what happens to used fluids: Freon is recycled and resold. Uses for other fluids vary - fuel can be recycled and reused, oil can be used as heating fuel or removed by waste management companies, and antifreeze can be recycled and resold, to name a few.
I'm still amazed when I see or hear of people still dumping oil in the garbage when you say it's completely recycled. Had a guy at work who was of that old school mentality, he tried twice to leave couple liters of oil in the garbage, gave him shit on the lunchroom chalkboard and put the bottle in the mechanics shop. it was still unused clean engine oil.
Answering questions opens a guy up for more government overreach than they have already dealt with I bet!
Probably 🤣

I'm honestly surprised that anyone can afford to operate any kind of business in California anymore.

CRTs are primarily glass, but there is lead and mercury in them too, which makes them hazmat.

That Honda is about to be wrecked even worse!
Couldn't your company get a filtering system to filter out the impurities to clean the gas so they could use it in your equipment?
I guess they could but everything we have runs on diesel and we get way more gasoline cars than diesel cars
