This is real REAL. This is why I absolutely HATE the teen pregnancy shows, and the popular CZcams, Tiktok, and Insta teen parent channels. They make it look like it's all happiness and photoshoots. I know some teen parents make it, but statistically the majority don't, and it becomes a never ending saga of generational poverty. I tell my kids, all adults now, to get through school, get a job, go see the world, and then think about having kids. Until then wrap it, pill up, and the pull out method is nothing but baby roulette.

My parents got pregnant at 18. They ran off, got married, THEN told their parents. It was so HARD, especially because, in the early 60s, people actively shunned you for it, but they made it.
Mom says that they made it because they accepted that childhood, all of their dreams about college, travel, having fun and running around with friends, all of that, it was OVER.
They were responsible for an innocent new life, so time to get to work. Dad got through college over the course of 7 years, and he credits his father's words for pushing him to fight on when things got tough: "You've ruined your life. You'll never amount to anything."
We had their 60th anniversary party this summer. Dad runs his own business. Mom had 5 more kids. They got off to a rough start, but we had a great life BECAUSE of their ATTITUDE.

Flawlessly done and hilarious. I remember having to tell my mom I was pregnant at 17 just about to turn 18. It was one of the Scariest moments in my life. My mom asked me was I sure and then just cried for a few minutes then came then questions. I now know why she was crying now that I have daughters. I had already graduated from high school and had started my first semester of college. But I had to drop out and work full time. Life was hard for me. I moved out and I got a low income apartment in a good neighborhood near my mom and a job. Worked and bought my own home at 23 yrs old. I didn’t have anymore kids till I got married after that. I was a single mom for for several years before meeting my husband and having 2 more with him. after I got married I finally put myself through college, started my own business and raised my 3 girls who all grew up well. No teen pregnancies one just graduated from college. I thank God for it all. He gets all the glory and my mom who supported me through it all. Thankfully she ran a daycare center. I was really really blessed. I instilled everything that I was not in my girls. They are so much better than me and i thank God for that too! 😊

Especially if they’ve educated the child about this. Now I do admit that throwing the daughter out is a little harsh, but at some point the child has to grow up, they can’t sit there and be a burden on their parents. Well, the mom made sense with some of the things she said, but how do you expect to raise a daughter who makes good decisions when you never set the example for her? This mother regrets sleeping with the father and isn't shy about throwing this in her daughter's face. Maybe had she approached this as a learning opportunity instead of a way to put her down she could have helped her make better choices. I know this is fictional but this is so relevant to what a lot of young women are going through.
I just had a baby girl. She is exactly a week old today and I pray I never forget she didn't ask to be here. I hope that I help her to make good choices and when she doesn't, I am there to help her through the consequences she will face.
No, the mother doesn't have to be the glorified baby sitter, but she also doesn't need to put her out either.
