- Open splice junction box by Rack-a-Tiers fixes the common (and illegal) problem of exposed wiring electrical connections and makes them safe and up to code easily and quickly without having to disconnect wiring. The do-it-yourself friendly design just takes minutes to screw the box to the structure, encase the spliced wiring in the box, and screw the box closed for indoor applications like in a crawl space, attic and basement. The open splice junction box meets code in the United States and Canada.

Yep, just found that in my attic. Thanks!
Thank you for mentioning that this cannot be covered. It must be accessible like you mentioned.
I have learned such situation in my house I know exactly where it is and I kind of have it marked by putting some woodwork framing around that area so I'll never forget that but this looks like something I could do and get it done right thank you

Bought a house from 1979 all my junction boxes have no lid covers and are twisted together with electrical tape. I guess that's how they did it back in those days didn't give 2 shits.
How do u fix wires if u are mounting a tv on drywall and accidentally hit the electrical wires behind since u can’t use this box?
Unfortunately, by code, you need to install an outlet box and make a splice. You can just cover the box with a blank cover or get creative and put an outlet there if it won't look too out of place.
