I tried this recipe yesterday and wanted to share my experience. First of all, my hearty congratulations to Hebbar's Kitchen for winning the hearts of so many women across the world. Coming to the bread , it came out superb and I followed exactly the same measurements. However, I was really nervous as I added half cup water, dough became too soggy and sticky and there was no way I could roll it like it's shown in the video. Then I googled this issue and realised it happens when it's not kneaded well, and some people make the mistake of adding more flour to adjust the consistency and then end up with a hard bread. They suggested 30 minutes kneading. It was tough but I followed it. My hands were paining but the results made it worth. Thanks for the recipe. Really appreciate all your efforts in spreading the joy of cooking 😍

If you are going to make this bread frequently, I suggest kneading the dough using a food processor or dough maker. We all have food processor at home (most people do). Even i knead my pizza dough in a food processor and it comes out great. No need to buy dough maker if you already have a food processor.

    1. What is the measurements of that loaf baking tin?
    2. When you took the bread out of the oven the top was light brown. How did it get deep brown in the next shot? Did you bake again after applying more milk on top?

Hi Archana di, I made this whole wheat bread yesterday on stove along with my friend. We kept it for 45 min on medium flame. It came out super tasty and fluffy. It smells like bakery product. It's healthy too. My husband, my friend and I ate it with Nutella. I followed your recipe using 250 ml standard measurement as 1 cup. The secret is that I stuck to your instructions precisely. I measured the ingredients exactly. So that's why it came out good. Baking is all about being perfect as a beginner. I also gave milk wash but didn't turn out as brown as yours. That might be because my bread dough didn't come outside the mould after rest. It was still inside mould. I used a large mould. Thanks for the recipe

    @rohinikrishnakumar333 Před 10 měsíci

Thank you for this recipe ! It was tasty and I also feel happier eating bread knowing that nothing is refined , no emulsifiers , no preservatives
I can finally have bread in peace
Only thing I I would suggest is that when I made it the first time I put the 1/2 cup water directly and it became so soggy , I got scared and kept on adding more and more flour which made my bread a bit hard
    After reading the comments
The next time I add water in small amounts and kneaded it very well ,
    The dough was sooo soft
    Bread was so good
So please add water slowly and knead very well , don't add more flour , don't add more water , just keep kneading and you'll get the required consistency in 15 mins or so !

    Few questions:
    - I have an oven but not the loaf pan. Any suggestions on alternatives?
    - Can I use brown sugar instead of white sugar? Been years since bought white sugar.
    - Some bakers use ascorbic acid, does it add some flavor?
    - Is it needed to cover up with the plastic wrap or just closing with a lid sufficient?

Thanks for the recipe, but would like to share my genuine experience to this, in the video it is suggested that for 30 mins we have to keep on the oven but when I kept it for 30 mins my bread was all hard and burnt. I should have kept it only for 15 mins instead but followed the video...
P.S I followed exactly the same recipe procedure of ingredients and process.
    Anyways thankss.
