Nice and so good work on this model! Thank you for sharing and see you soon! Ciao e bravo
Thanks.
Art.
Thanks, Darron. Glad you enjoyed it.
Your technique of brushing on the outline then coming back and filling in with the airbrush is one that I think will be useful for me down the road. Nice creative method that I had never considered.
Glad you found something helpful...all the best.
It's always a good idea to block in the surrounding colours when painting skin tones, makes it easier to get the level of contrast right.
Good tip...thanks for watching.
Looking great so far.
Thanks!
Great work as usual Rick!
One small comment is that I think your figures need some tan lines on their exposed skin, and sweat stains where applicable ❤😊
Thanks, Michael. I'll see what I can do.
Perfect ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks!
This is going to be an interesting project Rick. The camouflage technique you used is something I haven’t considered, but I will definitely be giving it a try. Looking forward to the next episode. Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺!
Thanks, Gary
Very nice figures 😊
Glad you like them!
Figures look good. I did a Japanese tank very similar love the camo.
Thanks 👍 Glenn
Nice work with the tank and the figures looks great. In every case a impressive result.
Greetings, Joachim
Thank you very much!
Very nice done, interesting way to prepare camouflage. All the best for You! ;)
Thanks, my friend.
Interesting painting technique on the tank and it seemed to work nicely - it even looked sun bleached a bit the finish photo you included. The white basing versus black with white from above also appears to be working well. I might try it with the WAAF I have in my Mosquito diorama and compare her against the crew I paint “traditionally” with aforementioned zenital lighting.
I'm certainly enjoying exploring this painting idea. I'll be interested in hearing about your results.
🤝🎥⚒👍
Thank you, Igor.
Think the figures would have a sun tan being in the pacific ocean area?
Perhaps? They do look darker in person. Thanks for watching.
About how long do you wait between glazes when building up the paint? Do you clean out your brushes and do something else in between or is it fairly quick? Do you use a hairdryer? Sorry for all the questions.
Hi. The initial layers seem to take longer to dry - about 1 minute. Once the colors begin to build then it seems to go quicker, however, that could simply be that as you proceed the working areas become smaller and so there is the opportunity to "work around" the model ie. paint one arm, paint the second arm while the first is drying. As for the brushes...there isn't much paint on them and so usually just a quick dip into water and then dry the brush between applications. I should mention but haven't (just forgot) that the moisture on the brush is key...not too wet, not too dry. You just need to play with it and find the balance.
@Rick Lawler : Propaganda Thx. That's exactly what I was wondering. 😊
just watched this - yea its tough painting small japanese tanks in tri color camo! And that yellow band! those are horrible!
Notice I didn't do the yellow band!!!
No Japanese tank during WW2 was a match for the Sherman.🤣 Towards the end of the war, the Japanese weren't even putting engines in their tanks due to lack of fuel. Which is why so many were dug in.
It is an interesting era....so many subjects to explore. Thanks for watching, Jon
