Oh no! A typo crept in - my apologies! At 10:51 'a lots' is incorrect - it should be 'lots'
I noticed it and got confused. Glad you corrected it here. Thank you.
I also noticed but I instantly understood it was a mistake.
Mistakes happen.. Even during a video about not making mistakes.
And at 11:02 is written We’ve GOT lots more to study, but Lucy pronounces We HAVE lots more to study. …
This video is a gift for you czcams.com/video/chgNK22Sl5o/video.html
I was on the verge of writing about it, but I decided to check the first comments first. Fortunately, your message was almost at the top of the list. ;-)

Thank you so much for including the example "less vs. fewer." It drives me crazy that our news journalists and others almost always get this wrong. For example: "Less people attended this year's party" I would prefer, "Fewer people attended this year's party." It is not that difficult to think things through before the words come out!
*One of the best teacher I've ever learnt from!*
*Thanks so much Lucy!😍😍😍*
The "Do" word reminded me very much of a comedy sketch that used the phrase, "Can I do you now, Sir?" Clearly indicating innuendo as to what "do" here actually means.
So happy that teacher Lucy went back to her classic background. Not busy nor distracting to look at but instead very relaxing to the eyes. Sometimes less is more. Simple is better. 😊🤗🙏💕✨ Thank you to my favorite English channel and teacher Lucy. ⭐💕💕💕👏🙏✨
Helps a lot Ms. Lucy.🙌 Love your dedication to educate us.❤
Hello lucy! I'm speak spanish and i think it's so adorable 4:22 😂 thank u for bringing us this video
Amazing video Lucy. I have been living in the UK quite few years now and English will never be my mother tongue. I moved from Spain with an advanced level of English but since doing that, my understanding of the language has improved dramatically. Thank you for sharing as always! Keep it up! 😍😍😍

This lesson is superb! It summarise the majority of misunderstanding ideas that I have been thought about grammar. Greetings from Perú, a maravellous country where is one of one of the wonders of the world.
Hi Lucy
I just need to improve my speaking ability but unfortunately I don't have any partner
Hello, Lucy, I like the way you describe and explain the meaning of these words, when often we FEEL when to use one or the other term.
Very good class. :) Thank you Lucy.
Thank you so much for this lesson Lucy ! I'm French and I've been teaching English in my home country for sixteen years. I'm very enthusiastic about your lessons ! I'm very fond of watching your videos and I endeavour to have a very good command of English ! I love British English so much (I've tried to use "much" as it was taught in your lesson today, ha ha !) and I can't help listening to your accent ! Your accent serves as a model and I try to sound like you ! I highly recommend your videos to my young students !!! Have a nice day ! Ludo 🙂
I've learned some of these lessons, and I've understood them. But I just realized how to use Less and Fewer in a sentence. Thanks, Lucy.
Great lesson! I'm just a bit confused about the explanation of have vs get. I was taught in middle and high school that using just have is an Americanism and we were encouraged to use the "proper British form" expressing possession with 'have got'. Has the language changed or am I missing something?
I do a lot of writing and English is my first and only language. Your videos still help me and I consider myself a somewhat capable writer.
Hello mam, I am from india and I am new for speak English and your all videos is very helpful for me thankyou for your helpful video 😊

Hello, Ma'am
I'm from India. I started to see your videos few a days. It was awesome. I really liked it. Your explanation & interaction is Fantastic. I understood eveything. Thank uhh for this amazing video.... 😇😊😍
I saw your video to practise listening english & see your beauty. 😍
Thank you so much.
Have a good evening. 👍
Jazakallahkaira Allah bless you ❤❤
Marvellous! I have been following your explicit way of teaching. Really, you're smart.
I am primarily here to see you and learning English is a bonus 😀
I want to ask about using less with short adjectives. Is it correct to say : She has less tall than me. Or less hight
Speaking of mistakes ;-), I was taught to use "not to" and NOT "to not". For example, at 0'36, when you say 'I will teach you how to NOT make these mistakes', I would have said '... how NOT to make these mistakes." Has English changed in 20 years, or has it become a colloquial way to speak (as with fewer vs less) ? And for how long?
It is always so enjoyable to watch and listen to your interesting lessons! Good job, Lucy!
Dear Lucy,
First of all I would like to thank you for your great videos on CZcams! What a lovely way to introduce new expression, grammar and pronunciations lessons!
After having much fun (and progress I guess) I decided to subscribe to your channel and shortly after to take part of your Beautiful B 2 English course. Right after I did the payment I checked only the first tutorial on using the course, but unfortunately I do not kwon how to reach my account. Last weekend I replied to one of your proposals received in my gmail asking you for an advice, but it must have been a no-reply message. So I aloud myself to put this comment here.
Thank you in advance for your quick reaction - I cannot wait to join the course.
Best wishes,
Janina Ninova, Bulgaria
Please, time 10:51 - is the form "a lots" correct? Thanks for your videos.
Thanks for pointing it out! This was a typo. I can't remove it without messing up the entire section.
Thank you Lucy it was so helpful :)
Hi Lucy we love your lessons ❤❤❤
Such a helpful video, Lucy!
well, thank you Lucy! 😂 I was really upset each time I get fewer and less wrong, but now you've cheered me up!
I think it’s most common for people to incorrectly replace “fewer” with “less,” rather than the other way round. It’s very common.
4:29 Not really, I myself purposefully mispronounce English words when I'm speaking in Spanish because it's easier than switching accents, but I also do it so that the pedants around me suffer >:)
Hello Lucy.. thank you so much for such great information ..your work is really appreciable.. I watch your vlogs.. please make a detailed vlog on Difference b/w American and British English..
Thank you for your efforts.I watch your videos every single day.God bless you..
Thank you so much ma'am, I love you.
On the a/an part:
In Hungarian, the equivalent of "a/an" is "egy", which basically means one, and for "the", we have "a/az", depending on whether the next word starts with a vowel or a consonant, the similarly to "a/an".
Thanks for this lesson Lucy.
I got 5/8 on quiz !
Great lesson and great teacher! Thank you very much
Hi Lucy! My best CZcams teacher.

Youre like living sunshine, Lucy.
"she does the bed" is for parents or maids who fix/organize a bed.
"He makes the bed" is for woodworkers who build or create the bed using wood and glue and nails.
This is how I understand it. But I really need more lessons to improve. Plus, I might get influenced with your accent. A British accent is a bonus. 😊 Thanks for the lessons..
I would say that a hotel maid does the bed, because she does the room, i.e. cleans it and makes it orderly. but when I get up, I make the bed (or not ....). My mother might say 'do your room, and that includes making the bed'. So - 'bed' is a bit of a tricky example! This is in fact a special use of the word 'do', to mean 'clean up', not the general use to mean 'perform an action'.
@@johngregory6005 yes. That is also how I understand it. And the word 'make' is not always mean 'to create' or 'to build', right? It's a bit tricky as you have said.
@@Schjoenz As Lucy says, 'make' has a range of meanings. Clearly saying 'to make the bed' when it means to straighten and tuck in the sheets, is not 'create' or 'build'. If I cause you harm, I could 'make it good' by compensating you for your loss. I can make a payment - online or in person. The word is very flexible in a lot of languages - which is useful for those who understand but tricky for people learning from the outside...
@@johngregory6005 yeah. It's a bit tricky in my case. Thanks for the inputs by the way. I have learned from you too.
Good work with detailing.
Hi Lucy, I like your teaching, keep up the good work

Hi Lucy, that "old" 😅 video make or do, is definitely one of my favourites since ever
Many thanks 🎀🤍🎀
Really, it's valuable. Thanks
i dont make any of these mistakes, but on the other hand, sometimes i forget to put s at the end of the present tense verbs :).
I'm so fall in love with Lucy's voice looks that i started speaking like luci's voice accent
12:15 "We have fewer than 5 tickets left" is obviously also correct as well as the example "Fewer than 50 people came to the event". 🤔
correct. But for sums of money, one does not think of them as individual units. So 'less than $50' - an amount, not a number of countable dollars.
Thank you ❤❤❤
Thankyou ❤
Interesting. I wonder if you encounter someone from the southern United States. I am from Los Angeles California, USA.🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲 and sometimes is hard to understand those southern folks from the southern states in the USA.
