To answer Kelly’s question about differences in fish slime: it’s about protecting themselves. Fish with large scales (snapper, drum, carp) don’t need a lot of slime, bc their scales protect them to an extent against disease, and even predators/external parasites. Fish with very fine (trout, mackerel) or no scales (catfish, eels) need the slime to serve the same purpose as the larger, more ancient scale types. That’s why handling the slimier fish with dry hands is basically a death sentence. Remove the slime, remove their protection.
Fresh water fish are slimeier than salties. Salt water don't need slime.
@@alwaysopen7970 Kingfish are nothing but slime. No scales though.
the lil moments like this in life is what all about..!
Enjoying some quality time with your other alf
And creating the best memories that build the foundation of a strong relationship
God bless you and your family
🐥😊👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Your practicing textbook Mise en place. Everything in its place. Precooked and ready to go!!
Bluegabe that watch will last forever. My original luminox bought back senior year of H.S. 2000 is still going today and spent 4 tours of combat in Afghanistan. Still glows perfectly as day one and online have replaced the battery 4 times. Thanks again for a great video! Keep them coming. Thanks again and have a great year to you Kelly and your boys.
T - Thanks for your service man. ..oh hi Bunny😏🙄
Love your videos....it is so nice that I can watch them with my grandkids without worrying about foul language and no morals!...I really appreciate you and Kelly being so real....I first joined your channel when I watched one that you prayed over your food!!....keep up the good work!!
Moral of the story: enjoy life because you can be good right now but be a sandwich in less than 5 mins!
Sorry about the nose Kel 🤕
They have to catch first, right? Lol
@@mtyhntr49 amen 😂
Hannibal Lector wants you over for dinner tonight
Ahahhhha!! Love this comment! Just keep swimming!!
kelly took one for the team! Bless ya Girl!
Another great catch and cook. Outstanding, so much fun to watch. You and akelly are perfect for each other. So fun to watch you two living your best life. Thanks for sharing.
@11:45 "My hands aren't as sanitary as they probably should be. But Kelly's eating the sandwich so it's not really a big deal." LOL. Another great vid. Thank you.
Always a good time when Bluegabe and 🦌 Meat post so close together!!! Two of my favorite talented CZcams hardworking guys in the world! You can tell from the quality of their videos that it's not just, only or even predominantly for the money and that their fan base is highly and always taken In full consideration when they work! Robert and Gabe!! We appreciate you guys sooo much that we can't even put it into words! Thank you guys soooo much. You are such a positive influence for everyone including the youth and we are forever greatful!!
Great inspirations. I like Robert aswell but something about Gabe I guess because my kids are so close in age as his kids. My son will be 12 on august 15 . I will be 44 June 28.
My daughter is 10 on august 23
I concur sir.
That's fun! I used to raise Tiger Oscars but never released them into the wild. Glad you are cleaning them up.
"My hands aren't as sanitary as they probably should be but Kelly's eating the sandwich so it's not really a big deal." Nice, Gabe :D
That sammich looked REALLY tasty!
We used to catch Oscar down at the microwave tower canal at the washout. Could catch them on just the spinner of a beetle spin..no hook. This was 30 yrs ago too. Good job making me feel homesick. Them frogs are calling you Gabe!
As a frequent visitor to Florida work and play I’d love to see a few videos that feature fishing from the bank only ....different places where we can fish from bridges and road side parks ....say from Jupiter up to LaBelle down to Ever Glades City
You two have the best content on youtube! Traveling, fishing, hunting, cooking! Your giving all your viewers tutorials on how to do all these things and all places to go. thank you and keep it coming!!!
Those Oscar’s were crazy cool beauty and you all were having a blast !!! That was truly the fastest catch n clean I have ever seen !!! Thank you all for always sharing . You have a fabulous nice n fun family n are blessed with all the fishing types you have ,plus your all over the world adventures!!!!! Blessed and have a fabulous UTube site !!! Been watching you a lot over the last 2 weeks. God Bless you all.
Most of us just know that spot as 20 Mile Bend but the actual name is Arthur R.Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Preserve. It runs from there south to West Boynton Beach. I enjoy watching both of your channels and learning new things too. They are the best antidote for when I'm feeling homesick. Take care and God Bless.
Dang those Oscars are crazy!!! Super strong, never give up fish!!! I gotta get me one of those crappie sticks!!
In Greece we say that fish like groupers and morey eels are slimy because they live in holes in the bottom and the slime protects them from injury when moving or siiting in the rocks. Because these fish are territorial and have permanent holes, there is actually a layer of slime that accumulates on certain rocks of their lair to make moving in out of it quickly easier and safer.
You are my favorite fisherman. You remind me of my dad from Newfoundland Canada
Love your videos when it is just you and Kelly. Actually love them all.but it is cool when it is you two. Nice looking fish and beautiful kelly.she he got the biggest fish 🐠. Love the longer videos also. It is like we are hanging out.
Fish became a boat snack before it made it to the pearly gates 😆
What a great day. Fastest time of the ccnc.. miss Young with the monster heck yah..all around awesome thanks y'all stay safe..
You're out having fun fishing that's what counts.
😂😂😂 “he is not toast” fish was still flopping when getting filleted lol epic
Love them DANCO knives. I have a big hand and they fit just right.
Hopefully it's good luck on your wedding day if bridesmaid has such an accident, hope heal soon Kelly, great time,we cook on our Lil John boat a few times a summer, great memories
I love both of you guys and I'm learning so much about fishing.
Amazing that perfectly red round circle on those fish tails. God is an awesome designer!!
Blue Gabe is awesome. I started watching deer meat first and once Gabe came along they are both awesome to watch. Such a cool family.
Hello, Gabe and Kelly🐟A very different vid this time, really cool, love you two....Old Naples Fl. 🌴
Hi Gabe i think you should try fishing in naples for a couple days or marco island
That sunset is beautiful behind Kelly
Great video loved the catch clean and cook on the boat
Love y’all! Great content once again. Mrs. future Blue Gabe. I see it coming.
Kelly did an amazing job filming what CZcams doesn't want . Hey Blue Gabe you need to thank Kelly because had she recorded you taking that fishes inside's out CZcams would of demonetized this video. So now CZcams has NO excuse to take this video down . Outstanding Kelly . Great job looking out for your man BG . Oh and the footage was spectacular great 👍👍 I wish instead of being able to give one thumbs up , it would be nice if CZcams would let subscribers give whatever number of thumbs up that they'd like . But it's wishful thinking 😂👍🤔 on my part .
I had 2 Oscar’s in a 100 gallon tank. Never once did I think of eating them. They both died after 10 years, maybe old age?? The both of them were around 6-8lbs each. I fed them anything that moved, beetles, worms, spiders, lizards, small non venomous snakes, earwigs. Then they also had pond pellets. Which they attacked and ate more aggressively than things that moved lol. Great fish, aggressive, and fun to watch. To watch you eat one is devastating! I'm going to get a new 100 gallon tank and 2 Oscar’s again. I may eat one just because of you when it gets huge. THX
If you look them up on the taste chart they were listed as excellent where bream and bluegills were listed as good. This was years ago.
Another great tank specimen is the Jaguar cichlid or Managrenses. I had a mated pair that were about 5 or 6lbs. Layed eggs every 28 days. Eating Oscar's, never thought of that. Lol
6-8 lbs?? Online says they get 3.5 lbs and even that is big. 6-8 is huge. Think how big a a 6-8 lbs largemouth is.
Kelly, you should have covered up Gabe’s plumbers crack too. Looked like a fun afternoon. Good job, keep it up.
The slim acts as defense mechanism to deter predators
Sorry Gabe, gotcha beat, 40 yrs ago we were fishing for blues right on the beach at Myrtle Beach, had a cast iron skillet on a small propane cooker, as soon as a blue was caught, zip zip it was filleted, boom boom into the flour into the oil, seconds later we’re eating. Was wanting to cook some fresh fish. We were catching and cooking at the same time, lots of fun. Of course there was no CZcams, or easy way to video, so I can’t prove it
Nothing better than fresh cooked food out in nature
Oh yeah ! Done a bunch of that ! Great vid! Ciabatta buns are the secret!
Always nice to see you and Kelly and the kiddos too but this one was fun to watch a cook right on the boat! Sorry about your nose Kelly!
A friend of mine got a osger from a pet store and they love feeder gold fish .
Northern Pike in Canada are probably the slimiest fish I've ever dealt with. lol
Oh my God. I stumbled onto this channel watched 3 or 4 of their video. Now I'm subscribed. Just excellent. From Ontario Canada it's a little cool right now cause it's Winter. I also watch landshark. Another lovely couple that fish. I can't get enough of this stuff and you do it so well
Thank you 👊
love my outrigger vacuum sealer. just put two big rainbows in it and used the roll for first time. BTW hope you show how to do it as there is nothing on YT about how to do it that way. did figure it out but took a bit. My wife loves it and how it looks going into the freezer instead of bags full of water and fish. no instructions with manual on using roll.
Hii gabe sir love ❤ ur video love from India🇮🇳
Those with the red circle near their tails are Red Tiger Oscar's, and I bet their color pattern on their sides would come out brighter if you put them in a clean fish tank at home for a few months. I know Gabe would really like them because they'll eat just about any other living thing you put in their tank that they can get in their mouth. and they don't play around when attacking their food. lol.
Bullfrog: use crappie rod with just a bare barbless hook. If you jiggle the hook in front of the frog they will bite.
I would love to see the hog competition.
Awesome video guys! Loved when I visit Florida. Need to come back and and fish.
I remember getting my first Oscar as a kid for my aquarium. I had a beautiful aquarium full of fish. After a couple days only the Oscar was left. He was a mean little bastard. I bet he wasn't so mean trying to survive in the septic tank.
Great vids guys.sandwich was making me hungry and the watch looks cool.awesome job on speed ccc that fish and preparing it to eat. If I had to make a video right now like this it would be like the video Robert made with MAG cuz its a frozen tundra here in Western NY right now.Good Stuff.Keep it up and stay safe
Can’t believe you don’t have a Garmin Mk2. It’s the cats meow for adventures
That was probably the most fresh food he ever ate
I know this is your video Gabe and the spotlight should be on you. But I seen the pictures of Cheyenne's Wedding, and Kelly looked great. Did not even notice her nose. And I must say Gabe. You clean up nicely. Thank you for sharing the video. Love and God Bless. 🤗😘🙏
I have never hurt my face washing it. No clue what a stump knocker is , love the videos.
One mans fish is another man's food. Bahaha! Great video man, even better title!
"Uh oh whered my Lowrys go?!" BlueGabe 2022!
Absolutely destroyed this challenge! That was awesome Gabe. Always eating well
Can you make a video how you tie your beyond braid and fluorocarbon leader together. I fish mostly in Lake Erie and smaller surrounding bodies of water.
Kelly's cming? Hope and would love to see her. Give her a big shout out. Tell her to bring home the Dungeness 🦀. I keep hearing about little baby blue crabs. Somebody told me, you eat the shells and all. You all need to come to a crab feed in the PNW. Where the shells feed the clams/oysters. We can't eat the sturgeon. But...everything else is on the menu
I love the energy u all bring and the ads give me time to comment while yall earn revenue. Thanks guys happy v day yall always make my day. Stuart from HHI
@Kelly the fish slime protects the fish as well as helps them absorb oxygen. Also it helps them swim faster in the water. This is also how Michael Phelps was so successful. There are documented cases of complaints in the locker room from some strange fish smell. He was known to waller around in tubs full of fish covering himself in the slime, producing .06 seconds faster 100M times. True story!
A Stumpknocker is a spotted sunfish. Bream. Good to eat.
You two know how to live! Love it 😊
You are eating the puppy dog of the fresh water aquarium. They are my favorite pet fish 🥺
Fun video you guys... you guys make it feel like we are right there on the boat with you. The Dynamic Duo!
Gabe your making fun of Kelly's bloody nose... 😂 Made me laugh...
The more slime the healthier the fish is gonna be the slime is a protective coating to block harmful bacteria and stop parasites from attaching as easily
Is anyone gonna give these Oscar's the award of being delish😂🤣🙄❤️
4 mins 59 seconds...now thats precision...
I am from Jamaica I love ur videos they are really entertaining...
This was one of the funniest videos I've seen from you in a long time. Props gabe!
Damn never known we had wild Oscar's.. I'd put some in a pond or fish tank.
I need to get down there to FL and go fishing, been talking about it for too long!
I feel ya I wanna go saltwater fishing bad.
kelly i believe some fish are more slimy than others depends on where they live..i believe slime allows those fish to move much better amongst the weeds .imbs and grass where they hunts..and basically locamutes
You've came along way Gabe...in no time at all you will have 1mil in subs..
I'm just glad to be a part of em..I rarely comment but believe me i watch..
Good video Gabe. And Kelly.
Gabe, I would like to suggest what I use when fishing. A machinist bib is great for wiping your hands on and it has three front pockets for tools or whatever you need. Keeps your shirt and shorts clean.
happy valentines day bluegabe and to your love ones stay safe
Awesome Video you guys are awesome dope catch n cook speed.. Fast food at its finest
Great video Gabe. Love when you and Kelly are on the water. I hope you can get to Australia soon and do some video here. If and when you come come to Western Australia. Bigger fish and better eating fish and yes we got barramundi. Thanks for the video and see you next time 🤙🎣🐟
Hi I am an Indian and am watching all you videos and am abig fan of you and also am an keraliyan
“How bout the frogs right now ?” 😂😂😂 that was hilarious
Love the vids
Oscars and tilapias are of the cichlid family.
In case anyone didn't know.
Now that's some fresh fish.
🐸 eat more fish...😂
Believe I'd got some frog legs next to the fish.
In 1978 I was catching with my dip net fish tank fish from canals in Davie Fl. Never thought it would get to this point. I can’t wait to come fish for them.
The Slime is to help the fish from dying of the cold water
We might be coming to Florida next January!!!!! for a whole month
27:33 "Come on... These fish are not cooperating". That's why it is called fishing not catching. 🤣🤣
If i ever go to Los Angeles and find a Lawry Steakhouse, i will be thinking of you. Great video catch--> clean--> cook---> eat.
Awesome my wife was watching yall catching Oscar's and couldn't believe it when yall ate it cause I keep and breed most of those yall are catching
Beautiful fish, watch and camera person, damn Gabe you have it made brother ,Lol but another great video you guys . It really does make my day to end it watching a Blue Gabe video. Thank you both for the entertainment y’all kick ass 👍🏻👍🏻😎
Happy Valentines Day Guys 💏 🌴🇲🇵🤘
Literally doesn’t get much fresher than that 😂
