    Hey Friends! Welcome
    In today’s video I’m sharing with you how I transformed our boring plain hallway into a colorful galaxy hallway with new colored can lights, fiber optic LED star lite ceiling and a glow in the dark moon hatch that leads to the attic. I’ve been dreaming up this project for a while now and I’m so excited to see it come to life. I started by cutting out two panels to fit the hallway, out of 1/8” thick birch plywood that I got from Ganahl lumber. I painted the panels white and drilled out the holes for the fiber optic LED lights. Each panel got 300 lights, 600 lights in total for the hallway. I also added a new 6” can light to the end of the hallway where there was not a light before. I changed out the existing can light for a RGB thin 6” can light that can be color controlled by my phone. I’m really impressed with how the lights turned out and it really gives a fun vibe to the hallway. I changed out the square entrance to the attic for a circle hatch that I then covered with a thin moon cut out that I created on my Onefinity CNC. I then added Total Boat Makerpoxy with grey and glow in the dark pigments from Black Diamond Pigments. The over all affect was exactly what I was hoping for. During the day the hallway looks unique and clean, at night is when it really comes to life. I’m so stoked on how it turned out and it’s quickly turned into my favorite room in the house. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this video in the comments.

    We all agree that the moon was the jaw dropping piece. So here's the question: Assuming s/he could get the CNC work completed, is that something a normal person with little/no artistic talent could do, just by procuring the materials, watching the video here, and maybe a small amount of additional research and practice? Or, rather, is that something that would require hard earned knowledge, skill, and talent?

    did you end up using a diffuser on the moon lighting? Why not use projection vs the led fiber optic solution (seems labor intensive)? For the drilling wouldn't it have been faster to cnc the holes (and you could have done accurate star patterns)?

    • @wood_brain
      @wood_brain  Před 2 lety +1

      I have the diffuser material I just need to add it… Why not project it because where’s the fun in that when you can actually have LED fiber optic. I had fun drilling the holes and it honestly went by pretty fast plus my sheets were a little too large for the CNC and I didn’t need to have an accurate sky thank you for watching and commenting.
