If you ignore what it’s from, the Spartans don’t look bad at all, this is a pretty good set.

I've always hated the chief helmets not having the dark grey to contour and make the helmet look more slim and sleek instead of making it look bulky and recycled

I honestly think this cortana looks really good for The Weapon (aka cortana 2 lol)
I feel like she makes for a good stand in if you don't have the halo heroes Weapon, and just ignoring the fact she's paramount cortana
I love the silver team spartans as generic spec ops looking spartans, I haven't watched the show, never will, don't know any of their names and don't care for them either, but, they still look really good and imo I like them more *because* I don't know their names
and as for Jimmy rings, master cheeks over here, I hate his head and I'll probably toss it in a box never to see the light of day again, I HATE HIS FADE HAIRCUT, IT LOOKS LIKE ASS FOR A SPARTAN, WHAT ARE YOU CHIEF, A FUCK BOY? - ...

Her hair is a bit off to be the Weapon but she could work as a stand in. I almost want a second Silver Team for weathering and pop'n'swaps because that gray look is so nice.

I hope they use the new chief codpiece and legs for Halo 3 chief figures from here on out. The new molds just look so much more accurate to the in-game model when compared to the Halo Wars parts.

I mean, considering they're still using the Mark IV legs for the Halo 2/3 Mark VI Spartans, despite having the correct legs as seen on Infinite Chief, I kind of doubt it.
Dude I’m not going to lie to you, I REALLY love this warthog! It might be my second favorite, other than my first MEGA set ever! (Winter CTF hog!) that head goes on civilians and marines. Not. On. The. Master. Chief! Maybe this is the ACTUAL Halo infinite warthog! The turret shiel is joined together! Plus I guess paramount firetema was ok… free parts are always welcome to me! So over all? 7.5 outa 10! ONLY cuz of master cheeks head. And weird Cortana. I guess that’s my thoughts on the set. If you’re just looking for any hog, I think you could skip over this set and get either Red Team Rescue, or Warthog Rally, or if you are rich, Warthog Run from 2019. IF you’re desperate and you can’t find any cheap hogs online or in store, I guess this is a last resort. So yeah.
Finally got my Xbox EOD boi! At the usual! Meijers! AND found me a Halo Universe Blind bag series 8! Got my leet boi! Not Jega though, so I guess I’m happy. Just wish I got Chips Dubbo. Or a brute, flood or reg. It’s fine though! They restocking soon anyways!

Great set the Wathog and Figs really look beautiful love the Teal paint on Spartan Kai and the EOD Helmet

YUP! Waiting for this review from you since you got the mongoose! As soon as January hits im getting this set asap! I think orher sets have better warthogs, and even master chiefs, but this set is good nonetheless! All this to say I LOVE THIS SET!!!
There's certainly a 'Hog for every occasion, but this one is really solid. The green just hits different
I really love this Warthog and the Banshee. my Kroger had them both on sale for about $20 each so I bought them. ignoring the characters I dont care about, the sets really are amazing, detailed, and fun to build, and they look great.

I put these guys and Blue Team together because they go together really well despite the conflicting colors. I always felt that Blue team was a bit empty so these guys are a great addition.

Seeing that this set is based on the show, the Cortana figure is supposed to look like the actor portraying her (Which means we technically have an official Jen Taylor Head Mold).
Which, it does look accurate. Just odd
Gotta say the Hog looks pretty slick. I do like that green, even though its not realistic mil type - but its the future so, things should look good! 😂 One area where I see Mega improving is the tampo printing (I know, its more of a transfer than a "print"). The symbols and numbers are super crisp and more in scale and it shows in this set.
Great models all around, except Cortana. She looks like blue-Halsey. Cortalsey? Haltana? Even her "display" clothes look like a version of Halsey's pant suit / lab coat combo. I guess smart is the new sexy.
If Mega can get a handle on the random rubbing prints, they'll be spot on print-wise.
Technically, Cortana IS blue Halsey. They just went a very literal route with that for the show

also, my FIRST Mega set came in! the Hornet begins my collection! (i found it funny it took me 3 DAYS to realize that Stacker had his shoulder pads put on incorrectly, other than that AMAZING set!

Style-wise for the hog, yes I think this one is a bit better. I just personally prefer the matte green to the metallic

What sort of sealant would you suggest applying to the faces here?
Just get yourself a can of matte Krylon sealer from Walmart, one coat should do the trick. So far, I haven't seen any issues with the print, but I haven't had it for very long

Out of curiosity, does the green on this Master Chief match any of the Bungie-era Chiefs? I'm curious about part swapping with the sandnest Chief since it could theoretically be used to make a more accurate H2/H3 Chief if it was the same color.
Yep, matches exactly! Well, as exact as that green ever gets with its weird color inconsistencies
Oh word, might be worth swapping parts then. I was thinking of sandnest Chiefs helmet shoulders and chest on the Fleetcom one, if the colors line up then that would be the most accurate Halo 3 Chief shapewise!
I've done that exact swap and it works quite well

Why isn't there a antenna on the back of the hog? Also can you put a marine helmet on the Jimmy rings head? Might ad some nice variations in your marines with that hair
I'm not sure why there isn't an antenna. Also, you could put a marine helmet on the Jimmy Rings head BUT you'd have to cut the peg out of the helmet

Im sorry but im not too knowledgable about this topic but I've been trying to find a set online since the start of this new year and well its hard to even find a scalped version of it. Is this a normal release or is there going to be another soon? I'm just wondering if im too late to the party on this one or what lol.

yes this one, idk if im not looking correctly but im not seeing this set anywhere. Not target or walmart, just amazon has one listing but its being sold by scalpers that (im not kidding) are shipping this item until like 6-12 months. again im just not sure where I am, If im late or just in a weird cycle of release when it comes to getting this set. Amazon has it, and then Paulmart's Ebay store gets it from time to time. $40 USD is retail. Amazon restocks every so often, and it technically is just now supposed to be releasing

I’ve bought the mongoose and have this one coming sometime between December 19-Jan. But I can’t find the banshee on Amazon for anything under $46 so I’m gonna wait.
Yeah that $46 listing is not the official Amazon listing, definitely best to wait.
It annoys me how much effort they’re putting into the halo tv show sets in comparison to the halo infinite sets. And I really want a halo infinite Master Chief figure in the new mold they used here
Kevin confirmed we will be getting a Chief with this new mold. And I wouldn't say they aren't putting in effort for the Infinite sets because they've done a lot of awesome stuff for that part of the line. Plus, Multiplayer Mayhem is coming and that set looks to blow this one out of the water

I love this set. I now have over 20(!) Mega Warthogs and this one has got to be in the top 5 for sure. I just love the classic look. Despite being a set from the TV series, this is what I think of when I think Halo Warthog.
My only gripe (and the reason for this comment, it bothers me that much) is how limited the suspension is (compared to previous Hogs anyways). I just can’t stand how little distance you can push down. Even the Neon Superfly Hog from the Multiplayer Mayhem set goes down farther (although still not all the way, like say the Razorback). Granted it doesn’t bother me now as much as it did when I first built it, especially since I just display my stuff, but it still irks me. I thought maybe it could be fixed by simply removing a layer of those gray “shock” pieces above the axel (for lack of better term), but then the wheel ends up rubbing against the wheel well. So I guess limited suspension is just a quirk of this design variant, and it probably doesn’t bother most people nearly as much as it does me.

@@DemarcationMedia tbh I’m still trying to decide if I like the new rubber band spring suspension better, or the older silicone tube leaf spring system (as seen on the recent I believe it was called Red Team Rescue Warthog, which itself of course wasn’t anything new but a reuse of the previous method). The new system is neat, and definitely adds play value, but do I like it more?
The older Hogs, like my first, the Halo 4 Warthog Rally one, just used the simple droop suspension. A couple later added the little “spring” pieces to that, but not many of them. Then they went to the tube leaf spring system. And now the modern rubber band active suspension.
Every time I think about it my gut tells me that my favorite is still the suspension system they did for the yellow Security Warthog (forget what the set was called exactly but it was something like that). That Hog had the best of both worlds, it had the “droop” of the rubber leaf spring but it also had the 4 little spring pieces above each wheel, so you could press down a little and the Hog would pop back up. Very similar to the modern system although much more limited. And for reasons unknown it’s the only Hog they implemented that on. Lots of others had the droop, and 1 or 2 other had the springs, but no others had both.

I'd love this set if it had the hexagon gun shield. I know the square one is more accurate to the source material, but I never liked the square gun shields. The hexagon ones just match the overall shape of warthogs much better.
I dunno, this is such a beefy hog that smaller shield may have made the gun look too tiny
The real reason Chief's on the front windscreen, is because after so long of having that helmet on and not being seen, now his cover is blown and has gone mad because of stage fright.

Weird that in all the promotional material chiefs helmet has a grey square print on his helmet but its just absent on the physical set.
You're right! That is weird. The box art and real thing really don't match super well in terms of Chief and Vannak

I like to take the duplicate mini figs I have and mix and match parts to make new ones and I want that back pack so so bad for mix and match since I don’t care about the figs them self, 12:50 but I love the warthog. Too bad it’s $60 now

I like the green used on this hog beter than other hogs like the red team hog, the figures are really awesome, i like and dont like the fact that cheif can take off his helmet, cortana is ok, amazing printing on Vannak and kai, my favorite it probably spartan riz, kai's and riz's characters in the show sucks

You would think so. But the show doesn't make a ton of sense sooo...
It's to make him stand out in Silver Team and because Master Chief has always traditionally been green in the games. But notice that Paramount Chief is a very dark green compared to the light green of Halo Infinite Chief. It's done so that Chief still somewhat fits the color palette of Silver Team and the series.
I would suggest if you want to use weapon in a diorama you could just use Cortana from this set.

Mega is definitely not dying out, since their Hot Wheels and Pokemon stuff is everywhere. The Halo line definitely is having a rough go, so I agree, these sets are helpful

Love your videos…I know some HALO purists, yourself included, that completely and almost unapologetically shit on the TV show. However you completely miss something while taking this type of stance…there are a lot of us that never played the game nor gave a crap about any of it until the TV show came out. I NEVER played the Halo games until AFTER watching this show. This TV show is what got me interested in the game and these sets. I started watching the show on a whim and loved it. Season 2 especially. Now I’ve gone back to learn the history of the forerunners and the Flood and I basically opened my bank account to this “new” world. I watch your CZcams channel because of the show you take a dump on. Had no idea you even existed. LOL. Ironic right?
I don't honestly care about the 'lore breaking' stuff in the show. I'm a writer first though and when shows do lazy character development, crappy story beats and just overall make a weak, watered down, taped together show, that's when I take issue. Especially when they have A LOT of money dumped into it. If they focused on making a truly thought out and solid story, I wouldn't be complaining about it, even if it broke 'lore'

However, I knew nothing about characters or lore or any of that. I knew absolutely Nothing. I Didn’t know who John was, I didn’t know Who Halsey was, I didn’t know what the covenant was. I just didn’t know. I never played the game. Sure, I saw Halo stuff at stores but just didn’t know. I went into watching the show with zero expectations, it’s probably why I enjoyed it as much as I did. We started watching it because we happened to be watching Yellowstone and the ad for the show looked cool. Total whim. With that said, I’m a pursuer of story and I’m a writer myself. Was there a lot left to be desired with the show? Absolutely. Did I want to know more about the story? Yep. After researching Did I end up finding a storyline that matched the game lore? Not really But even with that I was still fascinated and curious. I was still drawn into the overall story. My point is that the show was the front door for me and it didn’t scare me away, it exposed me to a new world. I don’t think I’m alone. For that reason, it’s a win for 343 and Halo, it keeps the game and everything you love about it going forward and it’s drawing in more and new fans like me.

the set looks great tho, all that detail, altho it always bugs seeing the 343 warthogs with gasoline jerry cans, even tho im pretty sure in universe theyre hydrogen powered.
