Hair on marines needs to be more common. In halo 3 the entire UNSC has been beaten down. most marines are full of bloodied bandages, and full of long hair because no one has the time to get a hair cut
I'd love a bandaged head mold to make some field infirmary and Crows Nest type displays.

Ok… how??? The fact that the fall wave is now fully available during the beginning of summer is so weird! I still love this set, the elephant is one of my favorite sets and this remake does so many things right and the figures are soo good! Great review and keep up the awesome content!

I have yet to see series 16 halo heros, odst drop pods, flood fan vote set, red team warthog for retail without a scalper wanting double the amount
The Warthog has been around a lot actually. Walmart had it stocked well in certain places and then Amazon got it for retail like 3 times. It might even still be up. S16 is in random Meijers across the US and the pods still haven't shown up in stores. The Floodgate is not officially released and won't be til Fall of this year
I remember back when megablocks popped off massive sets over and over again. Tanks, ships, everything from destiny, call of duty, and halo… what happened…

Economic recessions and our cultural relation to toys shifting has made it unviable to produce big toys. Most families only "splurge" on electronics when it comes to their children, so the companies wont make big stuff as often even if it has collector demand.

Leviathan and behemoth are the designs that are on the elephants in the map sandtrap from halo 3… I learned this when I just recently played halo 3 multiplayer 🤷♂️

the 2 different markings are a reference to the multiplayer map sandtrap, the 2 elephants are called behemoth and leviathan.

I am surprised Mega released this at all. Their disruption, especially with Halo, has been abysmal. At least in my areas, and I live in a populated area. I don't image they have been selling much with that. Perhaps there is still hope the line can turn around if the game developers get their game right.
Well, this was only delayed, not canceled. So far, there haven't been any sets truly canceled due to the state of Halo. I do hope we see an upswing

That Elephant. I cant explain how happy I am for to get a new one! I need that Sgt Johnson! That Master Chief is cool, Lord Hood is a great figure and now I have a purpose to get this, figures and Coastal Highway diorama. Halo Three Marines could be army built from the new blind bay series, and maybe you could throw in a few Halo Heroes!
You could totally load this Elephant to the brim with marines and other HH figs
If mega does release a halo 3 Warthog they should make it a troop transport hog. Sure we have the Razorback but we need a proper halo 3 one with the seats for the Marines.
Honestly, it would be perfect if they gave us the parts to make it both a normal and troop hog
I hope we get another Lord Hood figure in a potential Cairo station set in the future. (in the same scale as the Forward unto Dawn with Miranda)

I would like to thank you for helping me make my decision. I’ve been vacillating between floodgate fire fight and elephant sandnest and this video, helped me in making up my mind. I just have a feeling that the elephant is going to be much harder to acquire than the floodgate will be.

This took me so long to finally finish building, i just took awhile to actually get the time or feel like tackling the daunting task of putting it together
now I'm left with a small pile of tiny parts left over and with how big this build was I'm highly doubting myself on if i actually built it properly or not, only way to find out is to find how many parts are left over, or to do a visual check of the full thing just to be sure I didn't miss any tiny details
got the missing pieces figured out! i was able to look at the pile of parts you had left over and pick through what i had, found 4 pieces that could have been missed, went through the book to find steps with similar parts, and found what i was missing and where they needed to go, i ended up only having two spots that were missed, a 1x1 brick under the canopy where the controls are, and a 1x2 tile that went under one of the grey armor plates at the rear left corner
That is the one reason why the extra parts annoy me sometimes
I’ve gotta say, at the current sale price on Amazon ($90,) I think I NEED to buy this set. For less than half the retail price is well worth what you get here. Thanks for the thorough review to solidify my purchase choices.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this. I've been a huge fan of the Elephant for the longest time, and I have the original set and the Halo Wars version that came with Carter and characters, and wasn't entirely sure if I wanted to get this set or not...mainly because the price is really high. I'll likely end up getting it though. lol
It's worth it. Yes it could have had more figures for the price point but the final product is truly epic
I got this set around a couple weeks ago and I am really happy with it. Guess it's also a good thing I paid $150 for mine

Very cool set! I enjoy picking cheaper sets on amazon, especially those COD 4 packs, but these bigger ones I don't even bother haha. Also, I'm not much of a brick builder and I already had to muster all my energy to build the 3 mongooses I had haha.
Very cool though! I'm excited to see it in action in photos and maybe some stop motion if someone make one.

Imo the smaller heads with the h3 armor are the best. Works the best with the armor and looks more authentic to the game.

My assumption was that the second marine is intended as a female marine, but uses the male torso since that is the torso the chest armor was made for. I've customized a bunch of H3 blind bag marines, and I swapped out the torsos on some for female, and the chest armor definitely doesn't fit as well. It isn't terrible, but the male torso is much more snug since that's what the armor was designed for.
Maybe? I doubt that mainly because Mega doesn't often care much whether the torso armor fits well. The ODST Hive Exterminators is a good example
@@DemarcationMedia honestly the best way to check would be to try it on a female marine torso, if it doesn’t fit then it’s possibly a female

I just got this set and I noticed something that no one has talked about in any of these reviews, the two marines have different colors of printing. One marine has grey printing on his helmet and boots that matches the color on Johnson, Stacker, and the Universe series 2 marine. The other marine, for whatever reason, has black printing on her helmet and boots, which doesn't match any of the other Halo 3 style marines that Mega has made recently. I've gone back and watched a number of people's reviews on this set, and everyone has this exact same thing with the two marines, where one has grey printing and the other has black printing, but I've not seen anyone bring this up.
Honestly I think it's just an inconsistency, and the one marine came from batches that got heavier layers of gray
@DemarcationMedia See, I would believe that if it wasn't the case for every single Elephant Sandnest set. I went and watched just about every single review of this set on CZcams and everyone, including you, have this exact inconsistency with the two marines in the set, and it honestly just confuses me why it happened. Also, it is definitely not extra layers of grey print, it is distinctly a black print that is a different color to the grey print an the rest of the Halo 3 marines figures that Mega has made recently.

No, you didn't dream it. Mega sets get codenames during their production process. This set's code name was Sandtrap. Another example is the newest Hornet's code name was Snowstorm

Ahh I get ya, also I noticed the back ramp wasn’t lore accurate, so I made a simple change without really having to modify the design that much and it still allows for the warthog to go up in there I can show you if you’d like.

Hopefully we get lord hood as figure in more sets same with Rtas'Vadum (half jaw). Guys what you thoughts on them doing a ships captain's/ship master's pack's or like the did for the forward unto dawn??
I think it would be more likely to have those guys reappear in a set like the FUD. Maybe Hood would be paired with one of those orbital defense platforms

A problem I saw on a lot of Mega figures from 2021 and 2022 were that the hands had too much plastic, and sometimes the accessories just popped out of their hands. Is this a problem in this set? I haven’t been buying Mega lately because of that. The way you know if it has that issue is if the weapon or something makes an audible click when you put it in.
It's not a blanket issue. You could buy 4 of a set and you might have some figs with the issue and some without. It's random

I think mega has stopped including the chain gun handle because it breaks so easily, out of all of mine I have 2 left, maybe they are in the process of coming up with a new chain gun mold

I got a warthog, don’t remember the exact set name but it came with Chief, a Marine, and two jackals, you know the one? Anyways, I got that set, but it didn’t come with any rubber bands for the suspension, and it’s killing me
@@FishNamedWall I don't think I have more than 2 extras. Your best bet would be to call Mattel Customer Support, or go to the Discords and/or reddit and see if anyone has a scrap Warthog Rally set laying around, since those were incredibly common

Ohhhh it's a new set... I was confused how you were able to build it in the first place... haha. I swear even after building Legos all my life I couldn't ever put together any of the larger Halo sets when I was like 11 or 12. The pieces just wouldn't fit together and the instructions required a degree in linguistics to be able to decipher the steps LMAO
Oh yeah, older Mega Bloks tended to be tough to assemble. Plus they didn't use numbered bags
It is awkward that a figure has to bend over so much to drive the thing, I feel they could've went a plate higher to help. Even though the actual thing doesn't have a driver's seat, it definitely would've been better. Also, there is no front ramp on the actual elephant, mongooses enter in the rear ramp and drive out the front maw, it's a lil weird. But the whole model itself looks really good, the empty space is pretty appropriate, but maybe they could've added a bit more tiling or grating to help with how many exposed studs they are
Yeah I think one more plate of height would have went a long way

Can you fit the warthog rally hog because of its larger size into the back of the elephant. Even if requires taking off the grey ramp. (I would hope you don't need to) (I only have the warthog rally hog)

@@DemarcationMedia I think the crane might actually be the same sculpt as the old model. Some day I'll have to rebuild it and see. I wonder if its been scaled up at all to fit the newer figures.

A very nice elephant but for $200 5 figures feel lack luster definitely at least 6 or 7. But the prints are solid and fantastic.
