I suspect most already had. Ford for instance is a sponsor of many tech based online media shows. I don't know for sure. But MKBHD was smart in attempting to branch out with Tesla. They are the most innovative and have a strong rep in the techy world. Plus, they're the underdogs. Which helps with the "You're a sellout MKBHD! Unsubbing!" sociopaths that lurk. Yes, I think people who judge others for wanting a better life are sociopaths. Especially when the goal is to move up the ladder. Last I checked MKBHD wasn't part of the 1%. So please, move up the ladder brother. Give those 1%ers a reason to write you million dollar checks. That is how money gets cycled and redistributed. The poor convincing the rich to give them their money. But so many sociopaths want to judge people as sellouts whenever they find a yacht off the barren island.
I tangent again.
No doubt MKBHD has and will bring incredible opportunity to his family and friends as well. Who again, don't appear to be the 1%. Association is the next best thing to a Masters Degree.

Don't know if anyone heard the announcement from Tesla this week that they are coming out with Teslas for the masses costing around $35,000.00. Much affordable than the S models starting st $65,000.00. We have to get off fossil fuels. Just think how much money you can save without visiting a gas station every week or twice a week like some folks do? Add that up over months then a year that means more money for food,tuition, savings or a good quality vacation.
***** I hope the electric cars will become even more affordable so we can all "go electro" and replace the traditional fuel cards.

AllYourTechNow That's years away. But almost 300 miles on a charge and super chargers popping up everywhere, this should be fine for everyday use.

I think you can consider this review a success because you made me want the Model S so much. If you do more ride-in videos you should consider getting the Sony pj810 camcorder. Its super stabilized with balanced optical steady shot where the optical block moves separately from the camera body. I have the older version of the camera, it costs $1000 but worth every penny. You won't have to worry about a shaky camera nearly as much. Anyway, awesome video. The only thing that could have made it better is if it included a Model S giveaway.

You could. Also it is based on Ubuntu Linux and some people managed to get in to customise it (which Telsa wasn't too happy about). Native Ubuntu has been ported to the Nexus 10 so it may actually be possible to port this exact software to a it (although you would have to make some modifications because you would not have the same hardware interface for things such as climate control etc). The computer in the Model S actually runs on a Tegra processor so it might be easier with a first gen Nexus 7.

I was in a Model S the other day that cost $104,000 the only problem I had with it is its lack of refinement that you'd find in a similarly priced Mercedes. The dashboard area under the screen seemed to be a wasted space with nothing there and the seats didn't look or feel like something from a car of that price (especially the rear). Overall, I could tell it was a special car but something about it just seemed to be missing. All in all, still a great car with plenty of toys, but I look forward to seeing how Tesla improves on overall refinement of their vehicles in future models.
I agree, the interior is nice, but nothing special, not bad but not great. But with so many other amazing things this car offers, I could really care less. Actually, my biggest pet peeve with the car is the front trunk (frunk) is a pain to close. You have to be gentle, and use both hands to close it...but again, since that's my biggest issue, I'm happy as hell.

I think if there's perhaps one software feature which needs adding.. it would have to be Google now. Fully voice controlled maps and apps, and there's your fix for the 'it could be distracting' issue.

This car is definitely the future. It managed to overcome the one single obstacle to mass production and usage of electric cars: range. The electric cars up to the Model S had really low range that made them suitable only for short distances (city driving etc), but the top-of-the-line Model S has a range of 240-ish miles, if I remember correctly. That is insane for an electric car, especially if you consider all the perks and stuff you get (LED day lights, xenon night lights, that huge display in the car)... basically, if I had the car, on one charge I'd be able to go to my in-laws and back twice and still have enough charge to visit my folks 4 times. It is kinda pricey, but if you do a lot of miles, in a few years the car will practically pay itself off (some folks on Reddit say their monthly electricity bill went up by around 50$, which is a pittance compared to the 400$ a month I spend on my 1.2 liter 60 kW city car).

I know this is 9 years ago but it was incorrect then and incorrect now. So in 1996 gm made the Saturn ev1 it was fully electric and it had a range of over 200mi and it was revolutionary, the powers that be decided it should not exist and gm recalled all leases (it was lease only) a big oil conglomerate bought the company that made the batteries for it and just shut the whole company down. The Tesla did what a few companies did almost 2 decades before (Toyota, gm, I believe Honda) the world just wasn’t ready I guess. Watch “who killed the electric car” it’s all about the conspiracy behind shutting down the gm electric vehicle program
