  • In this video, I go over the Starlink Gen 3 Standard Wall Mount accessory. This official Starlink mount allows you to permanently mount the Gen 3 Standard dish to an exterior wall, eave, or fascia. Learn about the features, learn what comes in the box, and watch me explain step-by-step how to install the Standard Wall Mount.

Nice video. I would only add that the loop you made at the bottom of the exterior cable rub is very important. The cable should always enter the structure from a lower elevation. Otherwise water will run down the cable and into the structure. If you are running the cable through the soffit or a gable vent and don't have that service dip, you will end up with water in the attic.

Hello, I work for a construction company in Japan with an installation record of over 120 Starlink units (about one every three days). Since the antenna kits and mounts discussed in this video are not yet available in Japan, this has been very informative for us. However, I would like to point out that using lag bolts (coach bolts) for mounting on the roof fascia alone may not be safe due to insufficient material thickness. It is recommended to secure them in areas with more substantial backing where the bolts can anchor deeply.
Also, I strongly recommend wearing a helmet when working on ladders for safety.
Regarding the original mounts, while they may seem less reliable, I am curious how well they would hold up against the typhoons that are common in Japan during the fall, which bring winds of up to 80 km/h (22.2 m/s). From my perspective, it is questionable whether they would withstand such conditions.

If your company does custom mounting Solutions, you should do a v-mount backing plate, so it is perfectly centered at the roof line. It's slightly off to the right. Not a big deal but if you want it perfect I would do the back plate.

Excellent video. Answered a lot of my questions and concerns. I agree that the Wall Mount looks cheap and will probably fail. Appears that the dish still needs to be oriented to the north. We have a gen1 and 50 foot trees to our North so it has never been useful, too much obstruction from the trees.

It sounds like you bought one of the Gen 2 wall mounts, which aren't compatible with the Gen 3 dish. You need the "Standard Wall Mount" in this video, which is a Gen 3 accessory. I'm not familiar with what kind of mount Airstream is using, but you could adapt just the mast to a similar size mount, assuming you have some kind of bolt or clamp to secure it. I wouldn't think it would be a direct fit, though, unless designed for Gen 3.

The pivot mount I purchased did not include the base or mast that attaches to the gen 3 dish. Starlink's SHOP site does not show one. Do they expect us to setup our Starlink Kit, setting in the yard, to get the support we need. This is the worst support I have ever dealt with!
