- The Toro Timecutter series is a fantastic affordable option for homowners who want to step up to more verstility over their lawn tractor or push mower. The 42" stamped deck version is the entry point to the most affordable option, and comes with some great built-in features. Learn all about it in the video!

I grew up there in Ocala and your video really helped me decide on my purchase of this mower here in wisconsin!!!
I'm so glad this works for Nuclear Engineers. I can buy one now
Thinking about upgrading from my timemaster push mower. Wanted to see it mow on a hill.
The 22 HP models should have plenty of power for it, but given the lighter weight of this model and the relatively non-agressive tread on the tires it would really depend on how steep of a hill you're working with. There's also no ROPS on these models either so they're not considered safe for slopes over 15 degrees.
If you have slopes like that you would probably want to look into a TITAN Max model or a different residential model with a ROPS like a Kubota Z232.
@@crystaltractor Thanks. I’m up in PA my backyard is one hill. Kinda tired of pushing the timemaster around.
Thanks.
Welcome!
If anyone has suggestions for replacement the crap front tube tires please let me know.
Great information, thanks! However, I was looking at the 42in models and I believe the Single cylinder model only has 15.5 hp, not 22. The two cylinder models are 22 hp. Thanks!
You're quite right. That model is actually a newly introduced version that didn't exist at the time of making this video. It should be a good choice for customers who want to save even more money and are able to cut small lawns regularly!
You’re correct. Model 75742 has the 22.5 HP Toro engine and stamped deck. I have a 2020 with 265 trouble free hours on mine. Very happy with mine.
@@crystaltractorcan you share the benefits of the 22 vs 15.5 HP?
@@gatorfinancial We haven't received any of the 15HP models to be able to specifically compare side by side - however, going over the specs provided by TORO, the only difference seems to be the simply engine itself. The overall features, travel speed, and even blade speed appear to be the same as the 22HP models. There may be some losses in available torque to the wheels/blades in tough inclines or overgrown turf conditions, but for regular residential use it looks like there wouldn't be any appreciable disadvantages!
What would be the next step up from this one? I’m new to this zero turn stuff. I bought this one a week ago, and haven’t used it yet, cause I’m thinking of returning it for the next step up.
Hard to say what would be the right step up, just because there's so much variety and everyone's needs are a little different, so this might be a lot of info...
Assuming you want to stick with Toro, if you're wanting to stay with the same deck size you can upgrade from this one to the fabricated "Ironforged" deck option which will get you a longer lasting thicker deck but still fit through gates if that's important for you.
Also while most of the standard Timecutters with MyRide have been discontinued, you may still be able to find some remaining stock of them, which gives you a suspension rider platform for much better comfort, as well as some of the larger deck sizes come with option of more powerful Kawasaki and Kohler engines.
There is also the new Timecutter MAX series available this year with larger decks, new seats and some other features. We made another video with an overview on those here: czcams.com/video/P9jAIwP0_N0/video.htmlfeature=shared
Then if you want to make a big jump there is the TITAN series which are more powerful and more heavy duty all around. We also have an overview of those here: czcams.com/video/Q3UKII6ABVo/video.html
Hope this helps!
@@crystaltractor I think I’m gonna return it and get the Bad Boy Maverick
We don't carry Bad Boy so don't know much about them, but they're gaining popularity these days for sure... Seems like a good product.
Just bought this mower at Lowes yesterday. It was $3k.
Do you if the Toro brand will accept Gator blades?
I prefer to use a self propelled walk behind…..enjoy the exercise ❤
Sounds like a Toro Recycler might be calling your name!
The video would be a thousand times better without that damn background noise.
I immediately stopped watching because of it
2 cylinder is better, other than that, good video
Transmission? Deck bottom access? , really don’t care about the stupid controls and cup holder , Chinese crap
Most of the 42" Timecutters run HydroGear ZT2100s for transaxles. Those are entry level models, but this is also an entry level mower and HydroGear is a reliable industry standard brand. As for the deck it's pretty standard fare, just need to jack up the front to get under it, although there is a mountable front jack kit available for it for about $125.
Also, TOROs are built in USA, and have been since 1914. The engines are also either USA (Briggs/Kohler) or Japan (Kawasaki). If you want to see Chinese you'll have to look elsewhere.
