You can never have too much, you just have to have him learn how to control it. That seems to be my boys problem. He is getting better though. Winter time here so not much outside driving. It is more maintenance but I hope to wire the two batteries one day so I can charge both at the same time.

The stock gears does hold up to the power, even the trans gear boxes with the upgraded metal first gears the remainder plastic gears I have replaced more than one. He is still driving it. CJ Koby I tried the Traxxas 775 Motors in my sons F-150 power wheels... Running on 4S lipo..16v approx... Works great but I fried Electronics pretty quick. Currently I'm building new electronics w just five relays... I found some higher-powered 6080 amp relays $20 for 5 with the little wiring adapters included. 12 gauge wire man no joke. Basically two relays do the polarity switch and two relays do the high-low which is series to parallel. And the last relay replaces the throttle.
I'm not an authority in any way in the mechanics of any of the stuff. But I learned a lot by listening to your story about how you created this beast. Your oldest looks around 2 years old that's great that starting at that age.
That's cool. My stepfather bought a 2014 F 150 ecoboost when it came out then he bought a matching color F150 ecoboost powerwheel truck & even has a radio in it. For my nephews It's huge same size as the Polaris width wise. If you can find a broken f150 power wheel on craigslist, try combined your polaris chaise to the f150 give it a lift kit instal truck body on top. or Take F150 body put it on a golf cart.
i found a power wheels ford F150 sitting out in the woods i dragged it home and started sawing apart the body to make room for an old lawn mower engine and lawn mower transmission
Your stock brand power wheels battery is a 12v9.5ah battery. It also has a built in 12v30amp thermal fuse built in. Your hobby specialist should have also told you its not going to make a big difference having 2 different ah batts. Your 12v18ah batt is just going to hold longer than your stock 12v12ah batt, saying it will draw down your 12v12ah faster, but it will not burn out your motor. Your motor probably toasted because it wasn't rated for 24v. At 24v any ah they will eventually burn out. Awesome car though. And hope you have extra wheels cause he's gonna melt them down pretty fast.

Brake module, volt gauge, metal pedals, shift knob, LEDs and whatnot. I hope to post after I am done today or tomorrow. Thanks for your info! Kids keep us young.
Hey dude. Ml toys had an awesome motor bracket for the 775 motor upgrade... I picked up some Titan 775 is online and although that's the one everybody talks about it's really disappointing it doesn't have replaceable brushes and it doesn't even appear to have ball bearings it just has stupid bushings. I currently have an F-150 that my father-in-law gave me running on 4S lipo 16 amp hour battery... It was running great with a new Motors it's got so much power can go up any Hill it doesn't have a lot more top speed maybe 25% more of though.. now I'm in the process of changing all the switches just to straight relays. For $20 I got five relays on Amazon they are the 60 80 amp ones so they should have plenty of capacity... If it works like I think it should they should be able to use the high low in forward or reverse. Here's an interesting tidbit most people don't know... The way the achieve a high and low speed is just running the engines in series or parallel
I just got the Traxxas Titan 12t 550 motor today and I have it hooked up to a 12v lawn mower battery but it keeps tripping the new motor, any thoughts as to why that is happening?
"not matching" amp hour capacity has nothing to do with burning up your Motors. Too much voltage and probably all that extra weight from all those heavy batteries is what burns up your Motors.

How have the 550's held up so far on the 24V? I just ordered some Banebot 750's 18V and 24V motors...Are you just directly wired to the motors?

Did you hook up the brake attenuator? If not you might want to get one or just disconnected brake cable...orange wire off throttle...

Joe Knesley that motor works best with a 2s Lipo battery not a pb 12v battery. Do not use a 3s Lipo it will burn out the motor.
