Beautiful Daimler! I was thinking about getting a nice XJ or something for my first car. Probably a Vanden Plas since it’s an American model but it’s still exactly the same as a British Daimler.

I have driven one of these. Refined effortless performance, good handling, superlative ride, luxurious interior (spacious in the L). A fine car in its day, but lacks tech compared to current models and has pretty high running costs.

What tends to need the most attention when it comes to running costs? It surprises me that this car is still for sale, it is so beautiful, and given the condition and price I can't believe no one's snapped it up. Doesn't seem to have been driven a hell of a lot over the last 10 years given it's vehicle history either.

@@ewantuohy1507 Dunno on costs as I haven't owned one (lots of BMW's though). Laid up cars tend to suffer from deterioration of rubber parts (bearings, tyres etc.) battery, stuck things and so on and can be a pain to get back into running condition.
