I can explain how this happened, it’s basically how DirectTV works. When a channel goes offline, DirectTV will put some music to keep people entertained, but it sometimes has some errors and the radio station of your area gets confused, and they mistake it for an EAS alert.
Deleted my reply because:
- A channel goes offline and it plays music, leading me to believe this is a custom banner over the Technical Difficulties banner. Someone behind the scenes had to turn off the music and transmit the headers, attention tone, and banner.
Edit: Saw another video and yes, on that video I did see a Technical Difficulties Banner for a split second, only in this case they forgot to mute the music and relay the EAS.
So for some reason, it was very delayed, but I believe my explanation is correct.
I like the HR22/23 way better than the HR24 for that time era.
The FCC at 1:34 was like "nope no more lady gaga lets start the test"

According to one of the OP of one of the videos they turned to the wrong audio channel.
When the TV Chanelle goes off the air it reverts to music where lady gaga is

Also there was some cases in where this was transmitted outside of the US, yeah, if you didn’t know DirecTV is also present in most Latin American Countries (like Argentina). When the Lady Gaga EAS alert occurred that day, it wasn’t the only error as it seems to be like they transmitted the EAS outside of the US and to Latin America countries. So yeah
(I didn’t watch that happened as I live in a country where directv is not present, I just know it because of some videos that said the same thing, so take it as a grain of salt as it could be just fake)
