I've noticed there is almost always a mistake in a test, but in a real emergency, it's almost flawless, except for the guy talking has terrible quality on the sound, which makes it difficult to hear, especially when the furnace that heats your apartment is right next to your radio, and when you get a flash flood warning for the area around you then a warning for YOUR county, you want to know what the hell he's saying. It's just nearly impossible.
Bri J. Williams No, it wasn't announced by a lawnmower. The microphone wasn't working well, but as you can hear in 1:24 the volume of the microphone was too loud. The announcer still had his normal voice.
Transcript: This is a statewide test of the Ohio Emergency Alert System, originating from the state emergency operations center in Columbus. This is only a test. The Ohio emergency alert system has been designed to provide the public with timely warnings and emergency information. Had this been an actual emergency, you would've received instructions and information related to that emergency over this and other stations in your area. This concludes this test of the Ohio emergency alert system.
RyZeRun northeast Ohio EAS is not that bad. Channel 8, WTWW a while channel 19, WV ID channel 25, and WTWW UAV. I’m sorry, WTWW UAB, has had successful test. I have nothing onWEO in Akron. And that’s WOI0, and WTWW UAB. WTWWyou ABC. What in the world is wrong with my dictation on my iPad. WUAB. Thank you. Now the call letters are Street. Straight.
I see what happened here, but I'm guessing. So there were only 2 Header Bursts, and there are supposed to be 3(EAS IS ILLUMINATI). So the message didn't get correct information, and that's why you hear that music that TTS voices probably like to dance to.
First in 2001, then 10 years later, WBNX screws up again. Thank goodness, The CW WWHO 53 hardly has any EAS's after a show being glitchy(they usually just air it during a show).
the audio message reads "This is a Statewide Test of the Ohio Emergency Alert System, originating from the state emergency operations center in Columbus. This is only a test. The EAS here used to have a voice like that but they fixed it. And our monthly tests are at 11:45 pm when I'm still awake and it scares the crap out of me.
Should alternate every month in Ohio. One month early AM RMT, next month PM RMT, originating at Columbus, rinse, repeat. Then should be a test originating from LP-1:and then LP-2. I still do not understand why they don't run at least one test a year from NOAA Weather Radio? Also, new software for EAS box now favors the Internet IPAWS data over a terrestrial PEP signal.
this is a required monthly test of the emergency alert syste- GOD DAMN IT PEDRO! TURN OFF THE DAMN VACUUM!... ahem- emergency alert system. this alert is issued for the following counties...
It's scary knowing this technology has been around for 30 years, and we STILL can't get it right! Even after we switched to digital television, which should've made issuing these alerts easier!
Well I can tell you while the quality of the audio is poor and the music playing in the background but is sure beats the 2001 tests with those long header tones(lasting about 10 seconds)

Let's see: 2 header tones instead of 3, music playing in the background, then the longest beep ever distorts into HOOONK! BUZZZZ! HISSSS! wtf haha
you see, this is what happens when you try to replicate the EAS noise with construction work tools.
