At 2:50, on the right, is the slightly expanded shoulder where people park right at the entrance to the Cactus Trails. Originally a mountain bike XC race course, now it is a network of multi-use trails where everybody is welcome.
I grew up here and i dont recognize anything in this video! I lived there when the.condill was in full swing...as was the fronteir and fort hotel. The Bay was across from the street from the Fort where i used to shop lift cartons of cigarrettes that were stacked as a peramid in the isle. They cost 9 bucks a carton of export . The mackenzie inn was the fancy bar and hotel. The Lido theatre was my early stomping grounds...its still there but it aint a movie thestre no more. And all the mainstreet hotels aint no longer there. Now that im over the hill,...i crave to see anything from the past. But its not here anymore.....😢
Hey, Steve! Thank you so much for posting this video. I was born in Fort St. John, but my parents moved to Edmonton a few months after. I've never had the motivation to visit FSJ, but I was always curious to know what it was like. Tonight, I did a YT search and found your video. At last, I have an idea of what the city is like. Thank you so, so, so much!
You don't want to live here guessing by your name you are interested in the fur trade history and native history with fsj come here visit the museum then leave you dont have any business in this shithol
You guys (above my comment) This place isn’t even that’a bad! See, there is quite a few (a lot) of fast food restaurants But you don’t have eat it 🤦🏻♀️ And bedsides, let this person live how they want to! There are quiet lovely views, especially the Cactus Trails. My family has a side-by-side and we go around in trails, So I don’t know what you guys are talking about-
I grew up in this town in the 80’s when there was only one red light stop sign. This was great to watch and see how the town has changed.
Omg 😂 you caught my family driving in our car from our granny’s house! 🤣🤣
ya i live in Fort St. John i agree this place often gets overlooked by other cities but its a really cool place lots of stuff to do!

Seems like it would be a beautiful place to ride.
This is Correct!
I went hiking there and it was so lovely,
It couldn’t be more pretty from the top!
Lived there forty plus years ago, it’s unrecognizable
I lived there 1973 to 1974. Glad I left, what a grimy, gritty place. Does any one drive the speed limit?
Wow look when the roads were actually CLEAR

This is very well done. Was the camera mounted on the outside of the car when you filmed this?
Outside on the hood.
@@SteveCSilva Ah thanks. May I ask what equipment you used to mount it so securely? Also did you just use the internal mic on the GoPro?
@@veedriving6210 I used the sticky mount that came with it. I used the camera mic.
