you can carry FIVE guided air to ground munitions. People don't realize it, but the forward left hardpoint (opposite the targetting pod) can fit an additional GBU-12, so you can take 3 GBU-12 plus 2 AS30L's for my preferred CAS loadout.

The day Gaijin put the MICA missile (which are on the rafale), you are able to put 8 or 6 of them on the 2000-5. And you can have either radar or ir missile. It is basically the same but with different guiding. iR it is 40+ range and 150+ km for radar
speaking of HMD radar lock, I used it once, just once to get a kill. I only had an AIM-7 left on my F-4S and for some reason the radar wouldn't lock in SRC mode right behind the target but it would at a slight angle, so I had to fly at a slight angle from the enemy while using the HMD to lock and that was the one time niche use I had for the HMD radar.
3:16 the Super 530D is also terrible when it’s slow. Technically it accelerates faster, has a faster max speed, and pulls more Gs… but in turns out that the AIM-7 has a much tighter turning radius. The only time the Super 530D pulls harder than the Sparrow is towards the end of its motor burn when it’s at top speed. Any closer and the AIM-7 is hands-down better
2000-5F might end up as one of the best, maybe even best top tier jet at one point when fox3 and more modern IR missiles comes. IRL, it can carry up to 6 missiles (irl, it cant carry S530D at all, neither AG ordnance or magics on inboard wing pylons, GG gaijin i guess). 4 radar micas and 2 IR micas or magics. In WT though, if it keeps its ability to carry magics on inboard pylons, it will be able to carry 4 magics and 4 Mica-EMs on belly pylons. All micas are using thrust vectoring btw, even radar ones so you can slap someone high off bore with them without him being able to flare it.
Borderline meta IMO. I prefer over the MiG 29s. Im missing the the 29G which is almost certainly better. The Mirage is the best feeling top tier airframe rn imo. Also I swear you can carry 3 GBUs and 2 nords.
For others who suffer with China and have a J7D, the PL7 ( magic 1 ) is worth trying again. The PL5B is still great but the PL7 is better imo bc of the buffs.

On the extreme high alt and speeds 7f/7m has a bit better max range, but that's it. And i tend to trust dcs a bit more that wt with their extremely scientific and detailed approach (but not flawless)
HMD is basically only useful in sim. As 99% of all the radar functions. For rb you can just run with acm, you dont need anything else, maybe the switch from pulse doppler to search, but that's it, and you're gonna be fine 99% of the times

It's a super easy tree to grind if you buy the premium Milan and don't mind base bombing. The 2000-5F and the Mirage 4000 are some of, if not THE, funnest top tier jets in the game. And for context,, I have the US, German, French and Chinese tech trees ground out and most of the British and Russian trees ground.
Wait till it gets its dual plane manoeuvrability (it can go up to 50g), a better seeker (it's currently still underperforming) and shorter fuse activation delay, the bug reports are underway 🥵

The first step in MICAs on the -5F could be 4x MICA EM and 2x magic2. Then later 6x MICAS either EM or IR or mix, can use both on all place (missiles are interchangeable).
The missiles are still incredibly wrong. Magic 2s should essentially be better 9Ms, and the 530s are just entirely wrong. The mirage is one of my favourite aircraft, but playing it just makes me annoyed at how fucking wrong it is.
I think they need to give magic 2 50g pull and it will be perfect compo and if m2k got its 6 mica it would be the top dog with these nasty 50 g thrust vectoring r27et level of rang wooh that would actually be nasty nasty

I think that it can theoretically carry micas on the r530 pylons for a total of 8 missiles, but irl they always had drip tanks on those pylons

The initial IR lock uses HMD making it very useful in RB whilst turning or off-bore, no need to turn on the radar :)

The US or USSR trees are going to be the safest option. French planes aren't bad, but there's not super meta either

9l never had irccm nor 40g. Only the 9M had, it was the whole point of this missile.
