$275,000 = 1.30 of X. $275,000 /1.3 = $211,538
I just wanted to thank you for keeping me sharp...
And occasionally teaching me more efficient ways to solve some equations. I have grandkids that will need these skills this fall.
If a studend gets a B ffor the wrong answer on a multiple choice question and shows a misunderstanding of percentages, there is no longer a question as to why current graduates are so lacking in math skills. Wrong answers are WRONG.
Just divide the current price by 1.3
In my head, I used the answers and went backwards then added the 30%. Easy, b. BTW, when I do percentages, I always use a base of 10% then calculate accordingly. Ie: 10% of $211,538 is approximately $21,159. Then multiply by 3 for 30%.
I solved it exactly the same way, though, I did it in fewer steps. I divided 275,000 by 1.3, to get 211,538.46.
Greetings. The answer can be determined by assuming that the original value of the house is X. Now since the cost went up by 30% and the total cost after the increase is $275,000.00. The original cost is X+30X/100=$275,000.00= 130X=$27 500,000.00 That is X= $211,538.46.
Current price is $275,000..that was increase by 30%..
So the original price is 100-30= 70% therefore 0.7x275,000= 192,500
X+.3X=275,000, 1.3X=275,000 thus X (original price) =211,538 and price increase =0.3X=63,461. Proof: 63, 461+211,538=275,000
got it B logic 33% of 210000 is 70000 no other options were close thanks for the fun
1.3X=275,000 which is 211,538
1.3 x original price = $275,000, original price = $211538 and 46cents
No calculator required. I asked myself what a 30% increase on $200,000 would be. Answer $60,000 because 2 X 3 is 6. Therefore that total would be $260,000 so answer must be more than $200,000 and the multi choices only have 1 answer above that. Stupidly easy B.
In Short 275/1.3 = 221.538 , So option B is the correct Answer.
1.3x=275.000 , x=211.538
What is 100/130 of 275,000=211,538
275,000 / 130 = 2115.38, then move decimal point two places. Done.
211.53=. 275000 divided by 1.3==211538
Wow! It took 18 minutes to explain this. It only took 18 seconds to calculate this. It could have been explained in detail in 3.
211538. 275000 divided by 1.30
If the price went up 30% that mean $275,000 is now 130%.
$275,000/130…x100= $211,538.
B -$211,538
211,538 because the new price is 130% of the original.
275000 divide by 130, x 100
275000 is 130% so 100% is 275 / 1.3 = 211,538
192,500
275000/1.3=211538
The answer is b ($211 538)
A 192.5
Hi everyone shalom
Cross product problem ? Right
C - 82,500
$211,538.46
b) 211,538
x + 0.3x= $275,000
$211,000
b) $211,538
211.538
$275k/1.3= b
.$275000 +30 divid.ed by 100=
I got B!!!
$192500
B is the answer
YOU ARE WRONG!!! It is $211,538 AND 46 CENTS!!! If you give away 46 cents on every house and you sell two houses, you have lost 92 CENTS!!!
😮
B
Option b is the answer. 275000/130*100

👍 211538
Original price = X ( unknown )
Sale price = $275K.
Rate of increase = 30%
Write it down:
$275K = X + 30%X
= 1.3X
X = $275K/1.3
= $211,538
V E R I F Y
$211,538(30%)+$211,538
=?? $275K
$211,538(1.3)=?? $275K
$274;999.4=❤$275K✔️
This is how I solved it also.
