She's pretty. She's straight. She's in an apparently happy relationship with a Man. She's Christian and even worse Catholic. She's prodigy level talented. She's attracting a lot of positive attention to the WNBA. The league viewership for games she's in are through the roof. In the NBA Men would be Lionizing her for that talent. To a certain degree already are. Which is amazing.
So Of Course she's being treated unfairly by other players. Women Hate other women who are getting more attention and are more successful than they are.

The comparison of NBA and WNBA is really off the mark. The W isn’t as well defined and doesn’t have the development the NBA went through. Basketball didn’t begin with Bird, Magic, Jordan, etc. There were greats well before them as there are after. At this point with players like Taurasi at 20 years, the W is just now going through phase 1 in development and frankly it hasn’t been commercially or performance successful.

There are two things going on here, or at least two. First, women are much more jealous (or envious) of other women than are men or men can control their emotions more in light of gains they see from associating with more talented or more flashy men who are talented. Men might not like someone like Joe Namath or Allen Iverson, but they like playing on the same team and winning if that what it takes to get more glory and more money. Men are primarily motivated by these two factors, i.e. money and glory, that gets their egoism under control for a greater purpose. That is how men can work with other men whom they may detest in groups such as teams, business ventures, exploration, politics, and war. So, men are able to follow other men with a strong sense of themselves such as George Patton or Douglas MacArthur into battle and even death. Men are better able to compartmentalize their thinking and get their emotions to one side for a time in order to cooperate for a greater good. Women have a much harder time compartmentalizing and working with other people who they may hate for some greater gain. Plus, women are not as money and glory motivated as men. That is why women do not achieve great glory and make more money than men coupled with that lack of focus. Women do not focus in and are so myopically driven as men.
Second, people prefer others who are more like themselves. They can relate to them much more easily. That is why Caitlin is popular with white, straight people since she is one of them. That is human nature and cannot and should not be changed. That is why we are loyal to our own and are suspicious of those who are different. That bonds people with smaller groupings with whom they can find more intimate connections. If we were just one big human race, then we would be lost in a sea of people. As David Hume correctly pointed out, there is no mutual feeling for humanity in general.

So much misdirected frustration here, I feel sorry for Angel Reese AND Caitlin Clark because it’s truly not their fault, let me break down what the issue has truly been here from the start…the problem has never been with Caitlin Clark… the problem has been with her fanbase… and not even her entire fanbase… just a small percentage of her fanbase… along with the media instigating things… it started when Angel Reese taunted her right after she taunted Angel Reese… I personally don’t have a problem with any of this, basketball gets heated, and sometimes these things happen, they happen in the NBA all the time, but nobody makes as big of a deal with it as did with this incident… Caitlin Clark has talked trash on the court OFTEN ya’ll… she has also cursed out referees, there was even an incident in college where she flat out pushed another player to the ground…and again basketball gets heated, and sometimes people lose their cool, that’s not even the problem, the problem was when Angel Reese got heated she got called ghetto, classless, etc… yet when Caitlin Clark has displayed those exact same behaviors those same people are like “Oh she is fierce!” “Oh she’s a competitor!” “Oh she’s passionate!” … do I have to spell it out for y’all??? Now in light of this, Angel Reese has dealt with a lot of negative racial double standards from that small percentage of people… all of the sudden she’s being called every name in the book and Angel doesn’t deserve that…also, Caitlin Clark has dealt with a lot of WNBA players that have been taking out there misdirected frustration that should be focused on the media and that small percentage of Caitlin’s fanbase on Caitlin herself, which she also doesn’t deserve (but by the way, it is worth noting that the hip check that she got was actually a reciprocation from a hard no call foul Caitlin gave on the other end and then talked trash about, again regular things that happen in basketball that the media is grossly instigating) …all of this has just been a whole circus orchestrated and manufactured by outside forces and it’s sad to see

    • @willdawsontv

My point is not as much her production. She's had an impact on the WNBA similar to the impact MJ made on the NBA, only on a smaller scale. She's become a household name. No other player in the WNBA can say that. Though her production through the first quarter of the season 16 pts, 5 Reb, 6 ast, 1.5 steals is more than respectable for someone just figuring things out. Compare those stats to every other WNBA ROTY since the league's inception. Only other 20+ ppg as a rookie is A'ja. Underperformed compared to being the all-time leading scorer in college, yes. But holds her own AND brings attention to the league like no other. I do appreciate you watching and engaging in the discussion.
