The most beautiful city!!
went here in 2017. definitely a hidden gem.
Arequipa, never heard of it, but I have now and I'm very impressed. Beautifully made video, presented and filmed in a cool, relaxed style.
Thank you! Arequipa was a lovely surprise for us as well.
Do not get fooled by videos. I spend 4nights there, one too many. Nice main square. That it.
Arequipa: "The World Heritage site consists of 49 original blocks of the Spanish layout. In addition there are 24 blocks from the colonial period and the 19th century...The Monasterio de Santa Catalina is a SPECTACULAR religious citadel...Together with the MONUMENTAL ensembles, streets, and squares the casonas ensure the harmony and integrity of the townscape and give the city EXCEPTIONAL URBAN VALUE ...The historical centre of Arequipa is therefore characterized by its ORIGINALITY AND PRESENCE ...The ornamented architecture in the historical centre of Arequipa represents a MASTERPIECE of the creative integration of European and native characteristics. The SPECTACULAR nature of its setting."

This makes us want to turn back. We are still in Peru and skipped Arequipa. What a bad idea!!!! it is really beautiful. Thanks for such a great video and bringing this to our eyes.
To me, the best of Arequipa: canyon colca, thermal baths Chivay, Ruta del Sillar and Quebrada Culebrillas.
By far one of the most special places in all of South America for me . Very nice video 🙏🏼
This is bringing back so much memories. I went there last summer in 2019 to visit family and friends and I miss Arequipa so much 💖
In Arequipa we drink other soda, "kola escosesa"; the food is the best :)
Only place you can find it in
Awesome video. Lovely view of the old part of Arequipa. The Convento de Santa Catalina is also very nice with its walls with bright colors.
love this video and arequipa is such a great town, you have shown us some nice places!
I miss my hometown, the white City beautiful places, delicious food and the weather is incredible.
Love the culture there! Amazing.
Wonderful video! Thank you !!
Also drink Guarana, I love it. Inka Kola and Guarana are peruvian hits!! 😀😀😀
I lived in Arequipa and the city is beautiful, good people, nice food and amazing weather (350 sunny days per year) The problem is Arequipa is too close to Cusco, and Machu Picchu has the spotlight. Lovely video.
AinaAvata thanks for watching. That’s true, although I think Arequipa will continue to grow in popularity in the coming few years as backpackers are always watching out for offbeat destinations
Voy al mcdo San Camilo, pregunto por palta, 12 soles el kilo!. Le digo tan caro, para zonas donde producen paltas! Hastaben Lima consigo mas barato. Despues de eso sali volando de esw mcdo. Muy caro!!!
Not been personally but I have an online acquaintance who lives there and they've told me everything about the city and the great food and drink there
Cusco has more to offer. I would not mind living in the Sacred Valley for several months.
@@urbanart7325 I went to Sacred Valley several times, of course is totally different. Cusco is a great , I lived there 6 months 👍
Beautifull city , delicious food
Probably our most favorite city in Peru!
Incredible! And your own personal guide? WOW
Yeah, we were lucky to stumble upon him!
Best way of knowing Arequipa is walking.best time is in August.there are plenty of activities and places to go.you should try to stay at least three days. After that you can visit the colca canyon or Andagua the land of volcanoes.
Great background music!
Arequipa, my beloved Arequipa!!
I love Arequipa allways
I’m peruvian and my mom is from arequipa yet I’ve never been there 😫🤯❤️
Hola quiero declamar un poema que hable de Machu - Pichu, queria un vídeo muchisimo especial!
hey! Met too. never been there. But i plan on going
Lived there for 16 months while working on a project. I would say Arequipa is the best city in Peru and one of the best in all of Suda America. Great place overall.
My beautiful city.
Just ear in the market for the best food. Just sit in one the stalls and enjoy great good. The main square is nice but not much to do after 4 to 5 days. Living there for a year could be difficult if you are not working. After the initial tourist feeling this city could be boring and congested.
i'm planning to backpack Chile, Peru, Bolivia and Colombia next year. How many days would you recommend in Arequipa and what other not-so-popular cities/places are worth visiting in the country? Thanks, from New Zealand
I was in Arequipa yesterday. You need 3 days. First day convento. Sta Catalina, barrio san lazaro, tour to Yanawara lookouts and countryside, 4hrs. 25 soles.
2 day: tour colca canyon and termal baths Chivay full day: 75 soles.
3er day: tour Ruta del Sillar ( look like to Petra Jordania) and Culebrillas ( like Mars planet)
my lovely girlfriend is from Arequipa! so you know she is awesome :))
Arequipa♥
Probably the most underrated city in south america.
San Camilo great place to make out
Despite all the good things of Arequipa, there's a lot of bad things: only downtown is taken care by the government and citizens, and it happens in almost all the cities of Peru, they could be a potential tourist country and a big choise to live, but they aren't, and they will not be in many years. The streets and ways outside downtown are damaged and dirty, holes in the broken roads, incomplete sidewalks, many stray dogs and homeless. There are robbers in the main avenues, many informal people and smoke from the informal urban busses with terrible drivers, home invasions in the hills, and the list goes on... Peru is a great country with many natural places and variety of climates, but is too poor in the mind of the peruvian people and from the people who rule them
Hey guys, do you still know the name of that local coffee place spotted in video at 04:46? I have to go there :D
Chalasa coffee
Saw a lot of bars on second story windows. Not a good look.
I visited here but got Coronavirus. Big shoutout to Boris Johnson for keeping the borders open so that I could get back home so I could share the virus with all my friends.

Like Santorini and Petra, Arequipa is a stone city.
Seen Arequipa and Santorini, Petra not yet...Ephesus may be is way up there
