In this episode, we visit the most beautiful city in South America, Arequipa, Peru. We explore this beautiful nicknamed ‘The White City’ and are in awe of it.
With its stunning white architecture, Arequipa is one of the most underrated cities in South America. Three active, snow-capped volcanoes surround it. Join us as we take a wander around all the best attractions including Plaza de Armas, Monastery of Santa Catalina, Canteras de Sillar, and Ruta de Sillar. ► WHO WE ARE?
We are Gladys and Kenny, we finally made our dreams a reality. In January 2018, we downsized and take the necessary steps to pursue our dream, to travel full time for as long as we can. We rented our house, moved into our attached studio apartment, and continued to travel on a part-time basis until it prepared us for full-time travel. On June 30, 2019, we left to travel the world full-time. The first stop was Bali, Indonesia. It wasn't a simple decision to leave our friends and family. However, you only live once and we didn't want to live with any regrets. We want to document our journey, so we recently did so with vlogs on CZcams and Social Media.

I never knew about Arequipa, such a beautiful city. The Plaza is so pretty 😍. The monastery did look so peaceful. Good video about Arequipa 👍 👍 Peru has several small cities as Chachapoyas, Moyobamba, and some medium size as Trujillo, Chiclayo, Cajamarca, etc. that worth visiting . Also some very beautiful small towns in the Andes as Chiquian, Chacas . . .

I agree, they explore the country thoroughly. We normally visit a country for a week or two. But we are talking about doing something similar in the future.

Yes we are loving Peru and are doing it up 😂 Yes we would visit Peru again. There is still so much that we didn't see. The city is beautiful. Kenny loves to eat everything. 😂 I almost threw up 😆 Next stop is Puno, Titicaca Lake.
We are retiring in 4 months and starting (at ages 55 and 60) by moving to Mexico with our three senior dogs. When they pass away, our plan is to slow travel around Mexico and then take several years to slow travel all the way to Argentina. By then we hope to pick our favorite spot to retire ( unless we want to keep traveling, in which case we will bounce around SE Asia for a few years ).
But, Arequipa is one city we absolutely want to spend a few months in.

Congratulations Gladys and Kenny , nice job, Arequipa has 350 sunny days around the year, is a Unesco world heritage site since 1991, is called the White city because most of its buildings has built by sillar ,a white volcanic stone, has the Santa Catalina monastery , a jewel, is the hub to arrive to the Colca Canyon, one of the deepest canyon in the world, and finally has the best regional cuisine in Peru, the arequipan food is delicious, spicy, you have to go to picanteria, Greeting from Lima Peru

@@GladysandKenny Thanks Excuse me if my English written It"s not so good, I hope you could return to Lima soon, the best season to visit Lima is The holy week or Easter, usually is the first or second week of April, still the sun is shining, you can enjoy the sunset, the weather is pleasant, the traffic jam usual in Lima descends , you could do the route of seven churches, the Catedral has a beautiful museums, the San Francisco monastery and its catacombs, colective mortuaries, and the San Pedro , is a jesuit church with golden baroques ornaments, is a jewel, the Larco Museum located in a beautiful colonial building with precious gardens ,also you can enjoy our enormous gastronomy, remember Peru has won eight times the World Travel award as the Best culinary destiny Take care, keep traveling
