Craig Bryant's Top 15 Disruptive Table Tennis Shots

  • In this video, I show you Craig Bryant's wonderful disruptive shots. These are shots which unexpectedly change the speed, spin, length or direction of the ball.
Disruptive shots work because they are unusual. The technique is unfamiliar. As well as breaking the rhythm, your opponent may struggle to process the motion of the shot. If your opponent doesn’t know what spin is on the ball, it makes it hard to return.
In the video I show 15 examples of Craig using disruptive shots against me.
    Enjoy!

Dear Tom, I recently saw your interview with the Pingskillers Alois Rosario and Jeff Plumb. Enjoyed your conversation immensely. I became their premium member way back in 2012/3 and continue to be so. I like the commonsensical approach of Alois. And I find you share that with him which is the main reason why I subscribed to your channel. Keeping things simple and not make them complicated is always the best policy not only in our game but in life as well, I think.
Anyway, glad to know we have a "mutual friend" in Alois!!!

This is to tell you that that I found Craig's video on backhand service on your channel very useful. Following his tips there has been an improvement in my backhand service too ! Either easy service points or juicy this ou rd ball attacks!
For all this a big thank you to you!!!

Great stuff. My system is to vary, vary and vary some more with what you put back across the net - short, long, one side, other side slice, top, sidespin both ways both sides, aim for edges - when they work it's brill, practice more and you' ll get better at it - and everything else.

  • @vladimirtokarev9292

Hey tom. What kind of Rubbers and Blade are you using? Just asking out of curiosity. I'm using a 5l layer carbon infused blade from our local tabletennis supplier who has his own series of blades and Xiom Omega 7 Europe on the forehand and Xiom Vega Europe DF on the backhand. My outdoor racket is a fiberglass infused blade with Joola zack on both sides. I just recently changed the rubbers on my outdoor-racket as my old rubbers were quite done from all the playing outside in the lockdown. I now find it quite difficult to play a decent fast topspin with my backhand on a backspin ball and cant say why. Can you give me some tips on how to adjust to completly new rubbers. I usually played more reactive rubbers, but know i didnt want to fork out a buttload of money on new rubbers and just got the Zack.

@@jazzman1954 to be honest and pls Tom or Craig correct me if im wrong but those short are super nice and funny . My opinion is still is u should not learn them at start at all... try to work on the fondamental and that will take already so much time !!! then yes u can have fun with those .. also keep in mind that in a match im not sure that will make u win ... in that case the different of level (no offense Tom ) the difference of level makes it that Craig can do those here .. in a competition on someone ur level i would try avoid do those ..
in any case thanks for this video !!
