- In this video i'm going to teach you how to take advantage of the wide, narrow, wide golf swing that all great players use to hit flush iron shots every time.
If you don't strike or compress the irons as well as you would like then this is a must watch as this technique allows you to strike down on the ball, compress those iron shots and hit solid golf shots every time
You are going to need just 3 simple steps that can be used together to learn this technique and start hitting the best iron shots of your life
Hope you enjoy, Chris

Great tutorial
If head shifts forward on posting left leg, shoulders tilt left, club face close, look out left! Great instruction, Mr Ryan!
Wow! This was really helpful. Great teaching Chris!
Thanks James 🙌
makes a lot of sense.
hope it works for me.
concept/related pitfalls & corrections well explained.
Thanks
Thanks
This is such a great video. I discovered this while practicing in my living room that a wide take away allowed more time for my lower body to separate from my upper body so I can shift forward in my swing.
Hope there were no lights damaged in this discovery 🤣
True though it does unlock so many good movements
@@ChrisRyanGolf Well my condo ceiling is only 8 feet and there is definitely some scrape marks in the stipple sprayed ceiling. 😂😂😂😂
Haha I thought I was the only one! Random loud bang while the family is in bed as the toe of my club hits my 8’ ceiling. Found a loophole, my 2 year old son’s top flight iron. Still has great weight at the head but gives me more clearance from the random household items.
Another great video, thank you Chris. I'll try it out on the range today. Keep up the good work. Happy Easter and greetings from Switzerland, Pascal
Thanks Pascal hope it helps
Well done Chris 👏 😊
Thanks Roy
Love this Chris. I’ve really focussed on a wide backswing and a wide follow through with my hands and club far away. The narrow on the way down is an area I need to improve on.
As a side note: do you have any videos that zone in on wedge technique from 70-120 yards?
Excellent as usual head back was a game changer for me thanks
Thanks Gerry, yeah that’s certainly a key part
Very good Chris.
Thanks Ron
Thank you for this. Would you recommend practicing this with 50%-70% power swing to get the feels for the wide-narrow-wide?
Absolutely, always worth slowing it down initially
Genius
Thanks 🙌
So, is
“Wide-Narrow-Wide”
another way to say
“Body-Hands-Body”?
… that is: focus on turning the BODY on the backswing,
start down with arms & HANDS in transition (keeping the back to the target & shallowing the club)
and then rotate the BODY through impact & (full extension) followthrough? 🤔
Good stuff (as always), Chris 👍🏻
Similar yes, the body plays a big role in the narrowing of the downswing as it shifts towards the target so not just hands to begin down, but not far off that explanation
I think I am guilty of wide wide narrow. Got a feeling wide narrow wide will help with my weight transfer and therefore contact. Does it work for driver too?
It does yes, same ideas apply
Need to try this....me thinks...
Hope it helps
Never considered my narrow backswing is the root cause of not getting off my back foot in the downswing. Thanks.
Thanks, hope it helps
