i thoroughly enjoyed this lecture as all the previous one . the best lecturer on this platform
1) I learned about the CGR curve and how it reports neutron data
2) I learned about calculating water saturation using simandoux
3) Learned to subtract uranium from Gamma Ray readings for better results
4) Learned about rock types and different types of common grain structures
#1 I learned there is different types of grain structures. #2 Spectral gamma ray is very helpful for carbonate reservoirs. #3 uranium indicated dolomites. #4 subtract uranium from GR when interpreting limestone to make it easier. - Trevor McNeill
1) I learned that porosity structure in carbonates derives reservoir characteristics and that there are multiple porosity types within carbonates.
2) I learned that while limestone and dolostone are both carbonates, they have varying properties such as grain-dominated fabric and mud-dominated fabric.
3) I learned that spectral gamma ray tools can tell you which radioactive element a gamma ray reading comes from.
4) I learned what gamma ray with different radioactive elements looks like on a gamma ray log.

Thanks Dr. Oraby
Thanks Pio petro
Thanks AOGA
In this Lecture I Learned
#1 That spectral gamma rays are commonly used in the oil industry and that they can help determine the rock type base off of the specific types of emissions detected
#2 That the pore structure in clastic and carbonate rocks vary widely because of their depositional properties
#3 That dolomite reservoirs are characterized by crystal size
#4 The importance of the Lucia and Simandoux in comparing the water saturation of a reservoir
-Tanner Hurst
#1 Carbonate reservoirs can be categorized as limestone or dolostone and grain-dominated or mud-dominated.
#2 Grainstone and grain-dominated packstone give low-gamma ray readings, and mudstone and mud-dominated give the opposite, so the geologist must be aware of this.
#3 The CGR curve reports neutron data without Uranium readings in limestone facies.
#4 The Lucia carbonate porosity model combines Archie and Choquette's models so that all necessary lithological properties are accounted for.
- Carson Halbower
Thanks again for the thorough explanation!
Thanks Dr. Oraby
Kindly someone accept the responsibility of adding subtitles. If anyone can. Thank you DrOraby
1) don't treat carbonate reservoir the same as other take a new approach to them
2)uranium can be a clear indicator of having dolomites
3)k and Th are clear indicators of having clay minerals
4)learned that there are different classes of water saturation using simandoux
-wade smith
