I'd love to see the Veery Thrush on here. I first heard its call while camping, and it sounded so mechanical

I heard one today that ive never heard before...the only way i can describe it is someone blowing one of those cheap plastic kids whistles in 3 short bursts...
I know it was a bird because i saw him/her fly and the sound was farther away with the bird...

There is a free app called Merlin. It identifies bird calls in real time as picked up by your phone. Won’t help with birds you heard in the past, but wonderful for identifying birds in your yard or on a walk!

What’s the bird that makes the first call of the video? Gets higher as it goes?

That beautiful song is Swainson’s Thrush. To hear more watch my video on most beautiful bird songs from a couple months back.

i hear a weird one outside my house, it sounds like i can't explain it. like a weird cat or something and its a bird because its in the tree or on my roof

Squirrels can make unusual whining or grating noises that might be mistaken for birds. And young birds make begging calls unlike their parent’s songs.

i located it, it's a grey cat-bird. he sits on my roof and makes the noise so i am well aware he's a bird. i can see him if i look out my window, because the second floor roof is jutting out more than the top floor one. @@absorbed-in-nature

usually the squirrels in our area are actually rarely seen or heard. it's been that way ever since we got the cooper hawk living in the area in the big tree.i have i think a video of him when he checked out my front yard 😬😬.@@absorbed-in-nature

it could also maybe be a California Gnatcatcher or a Spotted Towhee as they make catlike calls :)
