This was probably my favorite moment in the whole show. Not only Chrome and Sasaki manage to create something out of the blue using just basic knowledge of things, but they show Senku that, despite living in a stone world, human imagination will always bring new things to improve our way of living The human brain is the most versatile tool in the world and the fact he so happily praise them for building that out of nowhere shows how much of a good character he is
The only thing I never got is why didnt Senku think of it. Pretty much the entire time before this I was shouting either get a steam engine or a waterwheel for easier electricity. I guess since it wasn't a task on the way to his goals it just didn't come up....
Senku is a genius in chemistry, he was too focused in the end product not the means thats why he thought of the cotton making machine instead of the waterwheel
@@cuma212 agreed but was still pretty dumb on his part. Especially as his genius doesn't seem to be limited to chemistry, several times he has shown an aptitude for physics and biology as well. He just got too focused to see the bigger picture. I think his lack of creating an education system early on (yes I know they at least established a writing school but that was later) was another example of this (same with a printing press/typewriter for that matter, as it is if he dies humanity is screwed).
you couldnt ask senku to really think about how hes gonna generate power for a village when hes got alot else going on being in the stone world and all.
Hey might have thought it would be to advanced level for this group/the timeframe. Don’t forget his main goal currently is developing communications for the war with tsukasa so he probably thought developing a simple hand wheel would be easier for the gold would be easier/quicker to do than try to have them all develop a whole water wheel system to during a limited timeframe
For all until very recently, manpower was the most valuable resource in human history. The very enablement of our society was the mere fact that people got good enough at growing food that ONE person didn't have to be farming all the time and could do anything that WASN'T putting food on the table. And the minute one man decided he had things to do other than plow... all of human civilization began to spring forth.
Yeah, in the middle ages I want to say over half the people were farmers. Because they did it all by hand and it took a long time to do. Now? Machinery gets it done in a tiny fraction of the time when it comes to planting and harvesting and farming as a profession is pretty rare by comparison.
I really wish someone would post a dubbed version of this. Its so annoying that most of the clips anime fans post are the inferior sub versions (yeah, I said it. Inferior. Fight me.)

I like the part where Chrome got his idea, it shows a picture of the bamboo filament lighting up because Senku hasn't made the Light bulb yet. xD

@@christopherauzenne5023 I mean water wheel systems have existed for 2500 years give or take. They aren't that advanced.
Ah, yes. The science kingdom's most powerful strategy: mind numbing labor.

I'd honestly say he could be smarter than senku if he was given a proper scientific education
@@freddymeng agreed
@@freddymeng I doubt he will be better than Senku but he could have beat Senku in term on materials and mechanics. Senku is like know all guy.

WELCOME TO THE AGE OF ENERGY!
Chrome best boy
Not to sound arrogant, but I mean senku is that smart but didn't think of this or a wind turbine? 🤔
Sometimes it‘s the easiest way that a smart guy can‘t imagine! Trust me I play a lot of Factorio and Satisfactory!
Or a steam generator prior to creating the car. Yeah I was yelling at him to create it but he just didn't.
