This scene is a perfect example of why I love Jack.
Despite being 6’4” and later growing to an excessive 6’11” in this clip and even later an ungodly 7’11” and needing to eat an ungodly amount of food to maintain muscle mass he doesn’t eat loudly and obnoxiously like most anime characters. He uses utensils properly, chews instead of swallows, uses a napkin and doesn’t make too much noise.
This is probably one of those weird fandom things but small details like this make me love the biting cyborg even more.

Also that part where kaku punches yujiro in the air, and Baki says “how?, Dad weighs over 200lbs”. And I’m like yea he looks like he weighs over 400 😆. I assumed something got lost in translation there like in Japan that would use kilograms so idk

As the manga progresses, Jack Hanma is truly becoming more and more like his dad especially his taste in food and style.
Actually, Jack is becoming less and less human. He actually *ATE* a sumo's finger and swallowed it. He would fit into the _Berserk_ world, because Guts has to lose his humanity in order to beat Griffith. Beating Yujiro will be the same.

If Ali Jr. couldn't beat jack, there's no way he will beat Baki. That is the closest forshadowing moment the audience can get in Jr's arc.

His punches being able to make Jack fall to his knees even for a moment is pretty impressive, and even Baki said that the reason he wanted to keep the fight short is because Ali could actually knock him out if Baki gave him any chances to do so. Obviously the fact that Baki *could* just decide to finish him quick means hes a lot stronger, but he didnt do that out of disrespect for Ali Jr, rather it was out of respect, as Baki thought he might actually lose if he messed around and dragged the fight on.

For anyone that think Jack is just pure brawn and no brain. You can see that Jack started off with punches, after seeing how Ali just avoids it so easily and counters him, he go straight for grab. You can see that Jack change his approach VERY fast. Like Ali said, you cannot get 2nd place in tournament with just brute strength.

The World motobe is actually not that weak. He’s weaker than baki and musashi. But he’s always prepared for the battle and his “art of war” is extremely good.

I like how Ali attempted to learn the lesson that makes all these fighters so deadly. He always thought of it as a match where you couldn't die. Baki always took fights as he was going to die after losing to his father and that pulls out, an animal out of you. Winning is everything no matter how fucked it is.

And just to add, Jack at this point is much stronger than he was back during the Maximum tournament. The guy has been clean of X4 ever since and is actually leading a healthier life thanks to Shinogi.
Yeah noo... he is still taking drugs, idk where you are in the manga but if you read the chapters right before Him and Sukune fight you will see him take drugs then says he never stopped and if it makes you stronger you should use anything to you advantage.

He made his body conditioned to take performance drugs, but the X4 drug was the only one that was legit gonna kill him if continued to take more. Shinogi even warned Jack about this. It got even so bad that Dr Jon (the creator of X4) killed himself at what his drug did to Jack.
As an add on to this, there are ‘healthy’ performance enhancers that boost your natural production of hormones like testosterone and adrenaline to increase your muscle growth in shorter time without completely annihilating your organs
It’s possible Jack has switched to those sorts of performance enhancers rather than what most people would consider a ‘steroid’ so that he doesn’t kill himself from chemical abuse but also doesn’t fall further behind his little brother and father in strength

The English dub in this scene is accurate. Jack is Canadian and Muhammad Ali Jr is American, so they'd be speaking English to each other. There's no reason that they'd speak Japanese.

What's crazy is despite how much stronger Jack is. Ali Jr rattled and almost knocked him out.
One of my favorite fights in the series not gonna lie. Alai jr was hyped so much in the past episodes, and after Doppo and Shibukawa, I was sure Jack would fall as well. I was fully prepared to see him get humbled, but the man just goes *BEAUTIFURU.* and then proceeds to oblirieate the poor bastard. I was watching this mouth agape, seeing my favorite character absolutely trash this hyped up antagonist, against all my expections.

It's appropriate that the one that started Ali Jr's downward spiral of defeat was a Hanma. Especially after he humiliated the patriarch of the family. Speaking of which, I really like how the more savage Jack gets, the more he looks like dad. Kind of like what happens to Baki as the series goes on.

Honestly, Ali Jr. is a glass cannon: he can dish out OHKO's like crazy...but if for whatever reason he's unable to KO his opponent quickly, Jr. starts to fall apart under similar kinds of damage...
And in the Baki universe, that makes you chump change against people like Oliva and the Hanma's, who have ridiculous endurance.
And that’s why I love Shibukawa. The small old man that stands among the giants.
Ali Jr. Is built for short bursts of dominance, not for knock down drag out fights.
Remember boxers take breaks in-between rounds. They're not built for drag out fights
There was a difference between him and the others. They could still fight if they had many of the serious injuries Jr had. Same with the death row inmates. When they got injured they still found ways to fight. If Jr learned from those loses and became more ruthless would be nice to see him again. He never fought real killers like the other characters. If anything that was his lesson.
jr. hasn't been in fights before. he's fought in matches but not true fights. and that's why he lost. he was trying to fight jack like he was in a boxing ring.

Jack is my favorite character. Even if he isn't at the top of the power lvl hes still amazing. Where others flinch or recoil from a blow jack still goes through it, when he starts and attack he finishes it.

I love the voices they got in this english dub bit. I haven't watched it all in the english, but the voice they got for Ali Jr and Jack is pretty damn good. Jack moreso, I didn't exactly like his voice in 2018
I Agree they Have Really good VA’s especially Jack Hanma! I’m not a fan of Yujiro Hanmas though.
Sorry but I preferred Jack's old voice since it made him sound intimidating but could also be calm when needed.
Jack's honesty the only character with a good VA Baki as a show for dub is ok at best I used to thought Yujiro's voice was cool but after going to sub since the dub was not available on Netflix for a little while for season 4 I can't stand it.

In Baki universe, mma world champions are just fodder for the real fighters fighting in their underground tournaments.
Jr was more of a showman he most likely didn't train or warm-up before fights he doesn't have that killer instinct.
Well to be fair Shibukawa doesn't train or warm-up for fights, he believes real fighters should be ready for a fight any time. So if Jr can't be prepared 24/7 he has no right to be fighting these people.

Just like the convict arc where the fight starts as soon as you cross paths with your opponent. The point being is that in a real fight that can happen at anytime and anywhere, your opponent won't wait for you to warm up.
So basically is that why he lost because he didn’t have that instinct to kill. If he did would he have won against everyone else.
He doesn’t have that Killer instinct anyways to be honest, fighting is second priority to him, in Baki its anywhere anytime and they just showed how he’s better as a sports fighter

The JR. Arc felt like a waste of time. Every fight he's had with the gang was more or less proving he will never be strong because he's not willing to die.
