  • You don't need to break the bank to get quality clothing and build out your wardrobe. I very often get clothes for a minimum of 70+% off, without having to buy in the off-season and you're going to find out exactly how. $300-$450 Wool Blazers for $15. $400-$500 Wool topcoats for $18. and so much more.

When I was 25, I would spend most of my money on jackets, coats, blazers, and other types of clothing that typically cost quite a bit. Would manage to get to the end of the year and have an empty bank account year after year, until I learned the way.
Method 1: Hit up Warehouse Sales and Sample sales
I don't mean those ones that everyone knows about and are in major cities. These are ones that really don't go deep into the discounts. We want 70+% off unless it is a high-luxury brand of some sort. You want to find ones outside of major cities and preferably ones that aren't in a small store, but in a proper warehouse(More inventory to push). Great warehouse sales happen annually and are worth traveling to because you can build a capsule wardrobe(core) for around $200 and a very full complex wardrobe for around $2000, which is crazy. I have found many pieces at these for 90-95% off.
You can find these with websites such as:
    www.shopsales.us
    www.chicmi.com
Another good method is to Google (Name of brand + Warehouse Sale) or sample sale. See if someone has mentioned it on Reddit or a Blog to see if this is something that is going to be very worth it. The key when you go to these is have an idea of what you want in advance, because they can be quite intimidating as there is a ton of clothes and many shoppers. Thankfully, many of the men at these sales don't seem that amazing with picking pieces and are often more or less your average dude. This means many of the great standout pieces stay available.
Method 2: Check if the Brand sells Seconds or returns
This method may not get you a steep discount like warehouse sales, but it is much lower effort. Recently just picked up a $400+ Pair of Chelsea boots for only $200 and they are brand new with a very minor stitching misalignment that nobody would ever notice.
    Method 3: Fashion Consignment
By fashion consignment, I mean both in-person and online. Online marketplaces like Poshmark.com and Mercari.com are fantastic ways to get great pieces on a budget. I just picked up a Nice Camel Topcoat that is $500 new and got it for $70. Used to always get skate shoes of Poshmark for $10-20 because I would just eat through them in a month anyways. The key with these sites is to set preferences for your sizes and check them regularly, you can always find some gems on these. Since these are usually secondhand clothes, though you do get soem with tags, it is preferable to stick to outerwear, as people love killing their clothes via washing and drying and you don't want something that looks used.
In-person is an excellent option as well and here is where being in a big city like NYC is a great advantage. They have more selection than a smaller town, people bring in higher quality pieces due to the higher income levels, but there is more foot traffic, so inventory can cycle quickly. Specifically look for fashion consignment shops, as they have much nicer pieces and better quality than thrift shops. Just punch in fashion consignment on Google and see what's near you.

@@The.ModernMan Hahaha didn't think of that. Kind of an evil name for a shoe company but I guess their logo embraces it
