Agreed, I work in the industry and thought i'd see kids I know... only Thylane is a famous child model. In the fashion world, pageants are not considered modelling really...
These parents should be ashamed of themselves. These little girls don't know what they want to do. So "mommy" presses and cajoles until the child agrees. Then Mommy can live vicariously through her daughter. These babies are made to look too grown and people think it's cute. That is until some sicko snatches one or more of them because she looks like someone else. If these mothers want a crown SO badly, they should tryout for the Mrs. America contest and let these children be children.
I have to agree, there is something a bit creepy about it. It's a bit like the mothers are still playing with dolls. As for the sickos. They will always be there. Stopping the pageants will in no way deter the problem of child abduction.

How insecure are you? These girls or people aren't even that good looking, their attractive but not "the most beautiful in the world" and never were. Sorry if they or you find this mean but it's true. ( I'm not a 10/10 and I at least can admit it) People like this just make their ego bigger, making them think their the most beautiful and mesmerizing thing in the world when all they do is were makeup or are extremely invested in their looks. I used to compete in pageants and although some of it was fun and I have a lot of great memories, I do have to say it put a strain on my self esteem and I became constantly insecure and pressured to be perfect. I was competing with other girls instead of making friends. I do now have body dysphoria and extreme anxiety of constantly being judged and I do think it is because of my beauty pageant days. All in all I don't think its okay for young kids to be in it. Atleast wait until their 12.

I never get the idea of child beauty pageants. Why would you need to dress up a beautiful, innocent child like a real housewives of Beverly Hills? All those glitter, granny hair, tacky earrings, embroidered horrible looking dresses and all that extreme make up? And there is the psychological part as well. Children who take part in these competitions are brought up putting a huge deal of focus on outer appearances, which can cause substantial emotional and psychological damage. For me this is totally unacceptable and those people out there should never have children coz its parents fault.
