- Today I'm playing Titanfall 2 once more, a fast paced shooter made by Respawn Entertainment that also developed Apex Legends! Let's check out if it's worth playing also in 2024, eight years after release. It seems as if the multiplayer is still doing well when I look into the player stats, something I'll talk about in the video. And the movement ad gunplay is still one of the best in the genre!

I'm checking out Titanfall 2 in 2024! How is the game doing now, eight years after release? Let's check out players stats, talk about the good things in the game, and if it's worth your time in 2024!
Titanfall 2 is a first-person shooter video game, developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts. A sequel to 2014's Titanfall, the game was released worldwide on October 28, 2016, for PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One. In Titanfall 2, players control Titans, mecha-style exoskeletons and their pilots, who are agile and equipped with a variety of skills ranging from wall-running to cloaking. Set in a science fiction universe, the single-player campaign follows the story of Jack Cooper, a rifleman from the Frontier Militia, who bonds with his mentor's Titan BT-7274 after his mentor is killed in action. Together, they embark on a quest to stop the Interstellar Manufacturing Corporation (IMC) from launching a superweapon that is threatening to destroy the Militia planet Harmony.
The game's two-year development cycle began in mid-2014. The decision to add a single-player campaign to the game came about because the team wanted to expand the game's player base. They came up with different ideas and prototypes, and integrated them to form a single coherent campaign. Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet and buddy cop films, as well as the video game Half-Life inspired the game's campaign and narrative. The team also overhauled the progression system and made subtle changes to the multiplayer to make the gameplay more fair. A heavily modified version of Valve's Source engine powers the game. Stephen Barton returned to compose the game's music.
Upon release, the game received critical acclaim. The single-player campaign was praised for its design and execution, and the multiplayer modes for building on the foundation of the original game. Despite the positive reception, Titanfall 2 underperformed commercially, with most attributing its underwhelming performance to going on sale in a crowded release window, placed between the release of Battlefield 1 and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. It was nominated for multiple year-end accolades, including Game of the Year and Best Shooter awards, by several gaming publications. Respawn continued to support the game after its release, providing several updates and downloadable content.

@@Thereallifeless There's unfortunately no cross platform when it comes to Titanfall 2. This was before the time when developers started to implement cross platform in almost every game that was released.

EA was the publisher. They tanked the game so they could take a controlling share of respawn. They did this and then forced them to cancel single player and tf3 and focus on apex junk. EA is cancer.

Awesome video! I used to play this with friends all the time when it first released. Fond memories make it one of the best multiplayer FPS games I have ever played.

Titanfall 2 is by far one of my favorite games. Played it on XBox 360 and also on Steam.

Northstar is dead compared to the vanilla servers

@@cheathustler1508 Well, if you own the game, then you just have to start up the game and play the multiplayer. Then you're automatically playing on vanilla servers :)

Yes, if you like fast paced shooters with top of the line movement and gunplay, then you should definitely give a it a "go" again :)
Titanfall 2 will forever be the best fps ive ever played and im so happy i got to live in this generation to experience it

Titanfall has been worth playing since it got released (I'm including 1 as well). EA just wanted to kill it from the start which is dumb
Yes, Titanfall 2 deserved a much better fate...Can't believe that EA decided to "squeeze it" between a new Cod and Battlefiled release.
Just finished the awesome campaign today. Bought new pc at the start of this month and this is the first game I played. Wondering anyone even playing it as I've never seen gamplay videos in my feed or recommendations..

Yes, that works. Although this game is playable on PS5, some features available on PS4 may be absent. Not sure though exactly what that would be. (Your system may need to be updated to the latest system software).
Yes. I feel like I’m back in 2017. Just wish me and my best friend could play. But we are both in the military now haha, can’t wait to see titan fall 3 I feel this hack fix is bringing it back.

You can one shot a pilot with the spit-fire. I've been toe to toe with the Ddoser of TF1 and 2 so when i found that out you could imagine how good it felt 🎉🎉🎉

i haven't been able to get into a match for about 2 hours on queue. whats the catch?
Thanks for your comment! There shouldn't be a catch, especially if you're playing on PC and maybe EU or NA servers. According to Steam there's around 4,3k players on average the last 30 days, so there should definitely be people playing.

How long ago exactly did they improve the servers? Loved this game about 4 years ago but left for apex
I believe it was in the early fall of 2023. They did it "quietly" :)
does it really just take hours to get into a match because its getting kinda annoying bcuz cant play multiplayer without waiting superlong times

I guess you refer to the fact that it takes skill to play a game such as Titanfall 2 due to the movement and gunplay? At least that's how I feel about it, and I like it. It can be a challenge some times, but a good one :)
