Hi Mark, when I learned to drive, (Back in the day) If I had said to the tester "Oh, I'm just going to use my back up camera" He would have FAILED me on the SPOT. I had to have one hand on the wheel and my other hand on the seatback behind me and I had to be turned sideways to look behind me as I put my car into reverse. It was drilled into us how to reverse a car, how to parallel park, and then make a 3 point turn around. ( I had driving class in High School ). Driving testers were sticklers about certain procedures behind the wheel.
Oh, and if you want to ask, I graduated HS in 1985.

Mark makes me appreciate that I've found psychological and spiritual peace, and have never needed a therapist. Though I'm gay, too, I grew up in a solid family with ethics and a world-view that leads to understanding who you are (and why you are), no matter what your orientation is. Nevertheless, many folks, especially gay folks, can benefit from a good therapist in order to find peace and meaning for their lives. As always, I wish Mark all the best, even though he abandoned the great mid-west for the left-coast.

Thought provoking question. Over the past half century gay groups, and now gay vlogs, have steered any discussion (intelligent or otherwise) of gay as being an ISSUE of being gay. It was not until I was 34 that being gay was no longer an issue for me. It was not until I stopped putting energy into Being Gay that I could redirect those energies to accomplishing things in my life that I had sidelined.
At one time Christopher Isherwood would have been the most contemporary and most highbrow writer to be discussed in any group of gay friends I have been involved with. Even then he would have taken a back seat to Rosalind Russell, Dame Edna, or Lipsinka. Maybe I’ve been with the wrong group of friends.
I do woodworking. In the past I have wondered, Are there any gay woodworkers? I’m still wondering, and would it make a difference?
