- More Axis Invasion action! Join me as I tally up more kills from one of the most interesting game modes ever created!
Axis Invasion is a fun game mode where we can invade a single player campaign game mode to attempt to kill the campaign player as invader using a sniper rifle, smg or pistol to prevent them from completing their objectives. Stealth and sneaking is key to avoid detection when hunting the player, phones are scattered around the map that can help the player and invader locate each other. Tagging can also be used to track soldiers and their movements.

That grenade to the pelvis was so devious, love it 🤣 Just finished Kraken Awakes, really nice mission. A bit too much close-quarters combat inside the aircraft carrier for my liking though.
As someone who’s spent most of their time playing the Close-Quarters dlc on BF3 back in the day, you had me at close-quarters.

“I too was a sniper until I took a bullet to the knee” 😂. After watching all your invasion vids I started playing it myself and am halfway to the ghilli suit now and unlocked the kar98. It’s been fun but not without its issues. Had a guy camp the top of the church in rough landing and I couldn’t get to him because it was deemed “out of bounds” which was super annoying. I couldn’t even through grenades through the window.
Had a dude camp in the circle building on war factory, he wasn't getting tagged cuz he was constantly running around the top.
Yeah, I’ve had that exact situation too. Grenades won’t go through the broken window, I wasted a grenade on that, but they will go through the tower windows, which the player had trapped so I’d die when I climbed up there. I heard multiple explosions when my grenade went in. No way up there of course, as you say. Clearly the player had no idea so basically wasted both my time and his own. I had to quit in the end, the player wouldn’t move!
My personal rule for playing against a camper is to 'only go as far as it is fun for me.' One of my earliest games as in invader was on M8, the Karl was back into a room in the theater and wouldn't move. After quite some time I found an angle and made a literal shot in the dark which turned out to be his head. I've won against over 500 allied snipers now, but that first game were I beat the camper by not playing his game has stuck with me. If a match stops being fun, just leave. Don't give the camper the easy kill they want. (edit): or waste your time.
@@TheFelmaster I have the same attitude. I find myself frequently going out of my way to not fall into obvious traps. If its clearly not possible or unfair (rigged cleared maps, traps that can't be disarmed without getting ambushed, etc), I just give up and go about my day because thats not my idea of fun. They don't make it into videos as I see no point in shaming those players, I found out the hard way that it causes controversy and I don't want to be the kind of creator that feeds off of that. However, I also have no obligation to endure it so I choose not to. I don't have much time to record these days anyway, so cannot afford to spend it with players who waste a lot of time doing a whole lot of nothing. I give most players ~20 minutes to show some progress one way or another, then I'm gone out of necessity! Luckily the vast majority of players I encounter are awesome and have a go!
@@queefyg490if it’s on the roof you can get there as well. I once got a lucky invasion kill there because the player apparently was afk hiding behind some boxes even thought we had just seen it over, and I managed to melee him.

Tbh I am garbo with shooting so watching someone like you that has the ability to think and find people is what I am here to learn and watch as I find that more entertaining than better aim amd what not.
Especially cause I want to know how to read a situation and know kinda what I should do to figure things out easier.
Just got sniper elite 5 on the ps plus extra, and I love this mode. I already have 45 kills after 2 days of playing.
Look, mom, I'm famous!!😂 I am a light elm forever guy because I run with the stabby stabby, and the improved mobility is a huge plus, but you make a fair point, opposing players see my rifle coming from a billion miles away with that light brown 😂
I think I have a couple of my campaign rifles customised to light elm because it looks cool and has a nice grain. I really should put more consideration into my customisation other than "POWER!!! + looks cool" but I'm a simpleton!
Seriously though, I have started using the detailed stats when applying customisations now (thanks to you and a couple of other commenters who recommended paying more attention to it) and have actually managed to squeeze a few more hit points onto that Kar98!

I really am the same way when it comes to Co-op and multiplayer games. I'm decent at multi-player but they're just not as much fun to me as they used to and Co-op is just so much more engaging and fun for me. I can only really play HLL if I've got 2-3 friends playing with me as it makes it so much better.

It is interesting, your point you made about multiplayer games getting frustrating. I'm finding that myself. I don't know if it's just my gaming taste changing as I get older or what. But if I play multiplayer, it is generally co-op these days. Competitive just makes my blood boil too much to feel worth it.

This is my first ever time watching sniper elite 5, seeing this is a mode with my love for German weapons and engineering of that era has made me want to try it, turns out I can with my ps extra subscription, and another thing that outfit you're running is very nice
I have played this since August.. i have over 460 kills, i have noticed that there is a glitch that computer players have learned... And that is you can tell where someone is going to spawn and already be looking down the sights and kill them straight away as soon as they spawn... I play on ps5 and have had this happen to me at least 10 times now

You know at some point I forgot they have ammo that shoots through concrete. I was once in an invasion that was like 30+ minutes long since a camper was camping a ladder but then I remember the ammo types.
The ammo imbalance should be addressed IMO as there are places a player can stand where they are completely protected from incoming fire whilst still able to send outgoing fire if they use AP rounds, making an invaders life difficult!

Do you only play SE5 to record or do you play it off camera too? Nice video, good job ass blasting Karls.
Also a tip, if you hear any loudspeakers or scripted dialogue between soldiers that means that the Karl is close, dialogue only triggers when the Karl is near enough to hear it.
The NPC dialogue is a great way of figuring if Karl is nearby, and something I learned about way too late!
I always record the I nvasions, but more recently have been playing shorter sessions but a bit more frequently. I’ve captured so many over the last few weeks that I started editing the next invasion video immediately after this one. I don’t play anywhere near as much as everyone thinks though, which is why my kills as invader is still sub-500. I used to play and record once a week alternating between a loud playthrough and invasions each week.
I have been playing SE5 off-camera a bit recently as I try some things out as Karl, but I’ve got invasions off while I’m playing because I’m trying out stealth. I do play a variety of other games though, most of which I don’t record!

You asked if anyone fancied a multiplayer game in the video - I'd definitely be up for that! I've fancied giving it a try to see what you can do with co-op but I've not had anyone to try it with.
Sure thing! I just need to figure out the logistics of it (I'd like to make some videos from it, never played co-op in any of these games before) and ensure that everyone is happy and comfortable with that (such people when folks are comfortable with talking, etc, it can be a bit weird the first time you do it), but I'm happy solo commenting on the gameplay like usual if needs be. When I've got an idea of how its going to work, I'll be posting on the community page so we all can figure it out, and gauge how many folks are interested.

@@duckwit85 Something else that might be fun to do down the line would be do a vs against people in the community. Ideally someone who is happy to record and commentate their pov so you can get a dual pov of the invasion and what each player is thinking. You'd probably want to know that the player is half-decent at invasions/dealing with invaders before you do it I guess, but I think it would be fun to see both povs!
@@oweirdone1 The problem is that it would be a logistical nightmare! I capture and edit at 1440p and the captures are hundreds of gigabytes in size, so sharing files of adequate quality is tough over the internet. CZcams also has a thing where if you upload in 1080p or lower your video is compressed with the older, less efficient codec which looks like hot garbage when in motion. Uploading at 1440p enables the newer VP9 codec on all resolutions, so much better quality. Editing two perspectives also takes a LOT of time... I've actually got 3 co-op videos with the missus that I never got around to editing because it takes so long to do as it usually takes around a week of editing time.
Also its an issue of scheduling. I do occasionally do sessions where I advertise that I'm playing so viewers can try and match (and they sometimes do!), but having the time to do dedicated one-on-ones is tough, which is why I need to figure out the logistics of the co-op thing. Plus, once you've played two or three matches its becomes a bit pointless because you know where they are and what they've done. That's why I prefer to leave invasions up to chance most of the time because I get a wider array of players/playstyles/maps for a video.

Have you considered doing a run with no perks I’m pretty sure you can turn them off. Also do you know if there is skill based matchmaking for invaders
I tried to turn them off but there is no clear way to do it, if there is I would like to know cuz I want to do ultra hardcore authentic
@@queefyg490 Try this, select mission, click on difficulty, select advanced difficulty customization, scroll to bottom of menu, select skills on or off. This does not affect sniper jager.

Ngl I play through first with no invasion just so I coul get the feel and the second unlock everything but after after I’m more than welcome to allow invasion and not be an asshole
It’s actually a great way to do it! Map knowledge is very important in this game mode, and it can be very difficult for someone to survive an invasion on their first play through! Once you have played and know the maps better, your chances of success are greatly increased!

Some stats are quite significant.
120 damage is enough to one shot Karl (6 HP segment) at any non limb part and 150 is enough even for limb shots. For a sniper jager a damage value above 155 ( since some rifle suffer damage fall off over distance) is overkilled.
As for aim time. You dont even seem to care about that. 700 ms is way too sloppy. In my experience a aim time longer than 400 ms is unacceptable in player vs player, especially when they are aware the location of each other.
I agree with you, but it has still worked just fine most of the time because speed and reflex is not as critical in invasion mode as it is in multiplayer. And no, I didn’t care about time to aim back when I made this video. That said, I haven’t used that rifle for months now and I have spent more time learning to better select and balance weapons.
The slowest time to aim in my current loadout is the StG44 at 309ms. My pistol is sub-130ms and my rifle is sub-150ms, all pretty low damage but I’m continuing to experiment.

Like, K98k without skins, without modifications, no silencers, standard magazine size, pistol or MP 40 instead of an StG 44 and the regular Wehrmacht soldier outfit. Y'know, just so that it's historically accurate. :D Would be great to see something like this :)

Seriously, it’s an interesting idea. The game itself isn’t particularly historically accurate, and I have done loadout as with accurate weapons (Kar98k, MP40, P08) whilst dressed as a Wehrmacht soldier to blend in, but the weapons have always been modified for power. I’ll think about it, it could be an interesting challenge.

Never tried the multiplayer, the game doesn’t count Axis Invasion as multiplayer so my multiplayer rank is the same as it was the day the game released!
It’s too difficult. Always players in it who can shoot you in under a second and will do so. No chance. They’ll even get you when you are completely hidden. I don’t know whether the mode is glitched or there’s just something I don’t know.

I HAVE A QUESTION WHEN YOU ARE SHOT AND LAYING DOWN HOW DO YO KEEP FIRING WHICH BUTTON IS IT you push?
I'm on PC, so I press either 2 or 3 to select my secondary weapon or pistol as soon as I'm down. then shoot like normal. You have to first unlock the perk, though. Invaders always have all the perks unlocked and activated from the very beginning so they can always do it. It doesn't work in at least some of the multiplayer modes.

@@duckwit85 oh yeah, sorry for spamming comments don't mean to annoy you, but I saw you said at the end of this video you stated wanting to try co op possibly, its a shot in the dark as I'm sure you will be getting multiple requests, but I absolutely love playing with co ops and communication and just overall making plans on action, when it comes to dealing with enemies (ai) in actual tactically smart ways (mainly stealth lol) and by god I love playing against Jagers, there are so many ways to strategize and have fun, anyway I'm going to shut up and get to the point, I feel like maybe we could have a good time playing some authentic campaign together, with invasions on of course, I'm not half bad myself, and I think we could have a blast, I am in EU servers as well for a bonus lol. like I said if you don't want to for whatever reason that's all good man I don't mind at all. merely a suggestion haha. Yeah, still trying to figure it all out, but I did a stream on Saturday where people jumped in and played both with and against me, so that might be how we do it! Keep an eye on the community page!
