Not bad at all for a year's time. Love your church videos too.

Thank you so much for your comments and your encouragement! Yeah, Danish is a hard language to pronounce, but the mixture of sounds is so unique and pleasant to me, that I like the challenge. I try to imitate the shortcuts Danes make in regular speech in order to mask my accent and not sound so "bookish", but it's hard to know when to relax when you don't have someone to speak with. That's why I study Danish at the Seamen's Church in NYC. Hopefully I'll post more videos soon. Mange tak!

Hello from a fellow American, who's also trying to learn dansk. I've only been studying for 4 months and pretty much sound like a 2-year-old with an American accent when I try to speak Danish...so your video is incredibly impressive and inspirational! Any tips or good websites/books/videos for learning the language....please send them my way :) TAK!

But overall it's really great. I would probably know hearing you speak that you're not a Danish native, but I would have absolutely no idea that you're from an english speaking country. You do an incredibly good job of masking your accent!

Peter Høeg! I'm sorry you had to wait a whole year to hear from a dane. Your danish is fantastic, and a lot better than I expected! If I were to give advice about your pronounciation, I would probably tell you to relax a bit more in your throat. That is really hard to do with Danish of course (And I feel the shift in my throat too when I speak english, it's really hard to pull off and is quite straining). (Continued)

    hi
    Du er dygtig!
Man kan høre at du har lyttet til københavnsk, det er ret vildt!
I belive that you will be able to understand feedback in Danish by now.
