The stretches are great, thanks! While washing dishes in warm water, I found that if I squeeze the warm/hot water out of the dish cloth, holding the cloth with both hands and turning my hands in opposite directions to get the water out and hold for at least 10 to 20 seconds makes me feel so much better. I now carry a small hand towel. Perhaps I will do only your stretches. I cannot believe how great it feels after doing yours... look, I am typing lots of words! :) I'm not sure if I'm creating a future problem by doing the towel stretch. Can you comment please?

  • @Godskingdomcouncelorcrystal

I'm so lost for words right now. I've had problems a few times with the trigger finger. One time I had the ball on my palm and couldn't straighten my finger it hurt so much. My diet was the American diet.
I gained 35lbs so I decided to change my lifestyle. On a carnivore/keto diet. Eliminating all sugar and bad carbs eating about 20 to 30 carbs a day. But making healthier choices. At times I would eat one treat sugary carb but nothing drastic.
I'm telling you last night I decided because I'm doing so well I thought I would splurge one day. I hate alot of sugary sweets and carbs. I'm paying for it so much this morning. I'm only 40 yrs old. I lift weight daily. Not today. Both of my knees are inflamed walking up the stairs hurts and my trigger finger painful can straighten it. I can feel all the water retention in both legs. It's crazy how bad food like bad carbs and sugary sweets flared all this and become weak and miserable. I tell ya I won't be eating bad like this, this much again. This is insane. Makes me question all these people suffering with arthritis etc if yiu change your food the pain will go away.
Like I said when I started carnivore/keto my pain amd inflammation went away. I thought I would share to help someone. Am truly in shock right now. This isn't the first time, I did this eating bad about a month ago and I was paying for it. So I know now for sure it's the food. God bless

I've had a rough journey with my hands. I had trigger finger surgery and, you're right, it can come right back even if actively going to physical therapy for heat, massage, scar tissue take-down, etc. I do highly recommend overnight splinting. For me, that puts my fingers to rest in a more meaningful way. The inflammation and swelling that tends to occur during the day will go down overnight with adequate rest. It doesn't cure the problem, but it makes my daytime hours far better. I start the morning with no issues and by bedtime I'm starting to feel the problem. I just feel like splinting calms it enough so that it doesn't advance to worse issues. I have a little finger impacted by wrist surgery and then trigger finger surgery on my ring finger, and that little finger now is in a permanent bend that even the therapist could not resolve. I do the "praying hands" maneuver to keep the tendons stretched and the problems from worsening. I start with hands together overhead and slowing bring them down to my chest in a praying hands position. It's the easiest way for me to give my fingers a good stretch. Its also easier for me to hold that stretch position for a couple of minutes.

I've had 4 trigger fingers repaired surgically with excellent long-term results, as in decades. Currently dealing with trigger onset in left pointer finger and will try your recommendations, hopefully avoiding yet another surgery. I found right pointer trigger release took a much longer time to heal than other fingers. Trigger issues run in my family (mom's side) as well as Dupuytrens Contracture. Luckily I only have Dupuytrens Disease; my older brother and a male cousin have early onset Contracture, a horrible affliction although recently treatments seem to have improved. Thx for your video.

I've had a snapping ring finger in my right hand for most of my adult life. I've done hand massages and stretching, but found using a massage gun on my palm the most effective. My ring finger is no longer catching and the palm of my hand no longer constantly hurts.. I started with using the massage gun morning and night and once the tendons loosened up I eased off to once a day to using it once or twice weekly. It feels wonderful to have a totally relaxed hand after so many years of tension and pain in my palm.

@@AdamJStoryDC Dr i need your advise I had the trigger finger because I played guitar successively without rest and one morning my finger started to lock up I automatically stopped playing the guitar after I consulted a doctor and he told me that for the moment he is going to prescribe me naproxen anti inflammatory pills and if that does not reduce the inflammation i have to go back to see him so that he injects me with cortisone But I haven't had the cortisone injection yet. and now 1 year has passed i have found that with the stretching and the exercises and rest the nodule in the tendon of my ring finger has reduced in volume but at 80 percent but now sometimes my 5 fingers become paralyzed in the morning and loses sensitivity when I try to open them in the morning when I wake up what suggest to do in this case . Thanks

I just had trigger finger release surgery for the clicking issue I had with my pinky finger. I play guitar, and it is my fretting hand that is the issue. What do you recommend post-surgery to have a full recovery with full range of motion for my pinky?

I got it in both thumbs. Started with a small pain around the pulleys for a couple of weeks. Then the locking bent overnight. Got splits. I find eating a decent beef steak makes it a lot worse. So I’ve cut that down. And gone vegetarian in the evenings. And waking up felling better.

Sometimes the reason for the buildup of the scar tissue is due to a uric acid. Uric acid buildup can be caused by certain prescription drugs, like clopidogrel (Plavix), which has a similar impact on the joints to gout. To eliminate the buildup of uric acid, some supplements can be taken, like malic acid, or tart cherry juice.

Would you suggest this in a 4.5 year old boy? Could be because his cousin hit his hand with a toy , but a hand surgeon recommended surgery and we didn’t I’ve been giving epsom salt baths and massages … not sure what to do I’d like to avoid surgery at all costs … it’s his right hand ring finger triggering … and I wrap it at night but he takes it off 😞

Can trigger finger be inherited? Once in a while my middle finger on right hand just kinda locks up and it hurts to straighten it. my mom had trigger finger and got surgery for it (which failed. she has yet to go back and get it addressed). I had asked her doctor if it can be inherited and he didnt think so? yet I seem to be getting same problem as her. we are of scottish decent so I wondered if it could actually be dupuytrens, which is inherited (often in scottish families), but he ruled it out for my mom.

I have trigger finger pain in my palm on my pinky finger, so far the stretching and heat seem to be working. I golf and practice my swing as much as I can, so it seems to have caught up to me over the last four years. Edit, after a few days of stretching, heat and wearing a splint at night, my trigger pain mostly went away. I also just used a piece of smooth plastic to break up the scar tissue. Thanks for the video.

If it common to develop trying finger after wearing a splint for a month?
My middle finger tends to snap when I tried to bend and straighten at the PIP joint when I'm just getting up each day. It goes away by the time I've showered. That's not even the finger I broke. It has to be splinted to support my ring and pinky fingers that did break.
    What do you think?

My thumb is like iron tough. It has lost its bend on the first knuckle. If bends accidentally, I yell 😢
No massage, exercise, stretching, hot cold bath, vitamins, splints have worked so far 😢

Hi I when I was 29 I got arthritis pretty bad and I end up getting a trigger finger like 56 years into that he tried to put pins in it and it would not stay the right-hand has curled up due to the arthritis pretty bad but the left hand is not so bad But Here recently and the last month or so I have noticed my fingers mostly all of them like when I'm holding a spoon or something they will lock up I thought it was due to not drinking enough water that it was like a cramp so for the last three or four days they can't hardly get them open I have to help each one I'm just wondering I would probably like to do is zoom visit or something like that if you think it's the trigger finger and not cramps from not enough water or if you can take you can help me. Hopefully you can understand what I'm saying
