Ants are so cool!! Have you ever had issues with them escaping into your house? I’d be so paranoid letting them have access to a container without a lid.
I normally don't like ants because they came into my room for like 6 months straight but when I watch you videos it makes me think that ants aren't all that bad
Found you from Antd Canada and going to follow you on all your platforms! Keep up the great work and get serious about building your platform and brand! I love to see people succeed! You are doing so great already man! 💓💗❤️
Awesome video I am a huge fan of ants I have been for years. I enjoyed this video because you actually showed and explained what happened once the little pieces of the leaves got into the nest. I have watched a million videos and never came across this little but huge detail being explained. 🌿 Leaf cutter ants are one of my favorites. I just came across you the other day I subscribed and I really enjoy your videos. Also wanted to ask why don't you use powder as a barrier? Why do you prefer not to? Just curious... Keep up the great work!
There used to be a huge Texas Leafcutter colony in a local park. Someone decided to poison them (I think) and they went from a dominant colony to a small, weak colony, but they survived. They were poisoned in the fall and now good leaves are scarce since it’s winter. Despite the lack of good foliage, they’ve survived off of acorns that are extremely plentiful around the nest. I haven’t seen leafcutters harvest anything but leaves before this, so seeing them adapt in real time is quite amazing.
Cool video, I came over from Boylei Hobby Time. I would say please can you make a playlist for your normal videos and then a playlist for your shorts? It would make it easier to enjoy
What kind of repellent do you use, or slippery thing do you use to keep the ants from climbing up? Alcohol and powder? or do you think the less natural way is better that you can just buy?
Is there anywhere I can get a leafcutter queen for a more affordable price? I have been watching and learning about these ants for months now, and I feel ready to start a colony, but I cant spend three hundred bucks on an ant. (also, you mentioned "both of the queens"...Does that mean leafcutters can be polygynus?)
@@LightsCameraAnts Thanks a lot! I think a lot of people like me want just to explore more about the ants and how they behave in raw videos. You can also open a patreon and whoever subscribes you name an ant/colony after their name or something like that. There are a lot of ways to scale up your channel. Good luck! I love your channel.
This is fascinating! We live in a somewhat rural area and have a MASSIVE population of leaf cutters. If you ever want to do a special where you investigate what this looks like when it's at least 1000 times the population, we've got some! 🤣
Yeah it’s gotten much bigger since when I first got them! A lot of the workers are hiding within the fungus so there’s always more that you would think at first.
Where can we find the colony setup we really dont get it in our surrounding shops can you give us a link to buy on Amazon and a video of how to setup it for first time with bigginer tips (really needed bro)
I want to keep leaf cutters in the future, but I am afraid a bit of the massiv size they can grow... do you have any suggestions how to keep them smaller? I mean 8million workers need a big sized room and like a full garbage-sack of fresh leafs every day... :_D
